Obtained Like Precious Faith Through the Righteousness of God and Savior

Audio Series:

kjv@2Peter:1:1 @ "Obtained Like Precious Faith Through.."

kjv@2Peter:1:1 @ ...to them that have obtained like precious faith with us through the righteousness of God and our Saviour Jesus Christ:

In the modern age we tend to emphasize faith as being something created with us, we believe what we want to believe, thus each of us have our own faith. Our assorted faiths have various similarities. Our faiths have many differences as well.

The idea best considered in this section is of a much different classification of faith that instead of being born in each of us is rather a faith born in and of God's own righteousness; intended to have an equality amongst all of us to whom it has been given by God and Saviour. It is both born of their righteousness to be operated in and it is gratefully placed back onto their righteousness by us once received. It is given in their righteousness for the purpose of achieving their righteousness. It is "like" amongst us in that it is of God. It is "precious" for us all being unlike any other form of faith that we could have made for ourselves. This is the type of faith intended to become fruitful.

Along with this being a formative audio series, I would also like to present to you my many study resources and notes. Please, like any good Berrean, utilize these many links to formulate your own educated opinions of these life changing doctrinal matters.

Sermon Outline

Obtained Like Precious Faith Through the Righteousness of God and Savior

kjv@2Peter:1:1 @ ...to them that have obtained like precious faith with us through the righteousness of God and our Saviour Jesus Christ:

"To them that have..." - Have you?

Are you one of them to whom Simon Peter servant and apostle of Jesus Christ is writing to? A lot of people think that they are. Jesus said that "you will know them by their fruit". Question is does the fruit that either you or I presently exhibit (or don't) reflect this statement:

"..have obtained like precious faith with us through the righteousness of God and our Saviour Jesus Christ"

Certainly the practicality of this essential central point of the obtaining of like precious faith can be seen in terms of our evangelizing the gospel message productively to the world at large; we would be more fruitful if to concentrate heavily on the righteousness of God and Savior. Can you see however how this God emanating effectual righteousness can have tremendous impact on each of our daily concerns and struggles?

What effect might we expect the righteousness of God/Savior to have on us?
  1. v2 Grace and Peace multiplied through the knowledge of Christ
  2. v3 all things pertaining life/godliness
  3. v4 exceeding promises regarding partaking of divine nature/escaping corruption
  4. v5 divinely effected faith, virtue
  5. v6 divinely effected knowledge, temperance, patience
  6. v7 divinely effected godliness, brotherly kindness, agape love

As we start diligently adding/compounding these divinely effected elements into our daily lives, as we begin operating on this emanating/radiating/spiritual/central platform we are sure to begin seeing a more abundant fruit in all things from this particular knowledge of Jesus our Christ.

Having now a better understanding of this "like precious faith" and it's tremendous spiritual influences drawing toward God's emanate righteousness, we can better see now what has transformed Simon into Peter and what Peter better means as servant and apostle of Jesus Christ and why he would be writing this to "them that have obtained like precious faith through the righteousness of God and our savior Jesus Christ".

Are you then one of "them" that has obtained the "like precious faith"?
