bwe@Info @ DESCRIPTION: The Bible in Worldwide English (BWE)\par This New Testament was originally prepared by Annie Cressman, who died in 1993. She was a Canadian Bible teacher in Liberia in West Africa. Whilst teaching students in a Bible School where the language used was English, she found that she was spending more time explaining the meaning of the English than she was teaching the Bible itself. So she decided to write this simple version in easy English so that her students could easily understand.\par\par In 1959 the Full Gospel Publishing House in Toronto, Canada, printed a trial edition of the Gospel of Mark. A further edition was published in 1962 by the American Bible Society. The whole New Testament was first published by SOON Publications in India in 1969 in hardback form. This was assisted by Operation Mobilisation (OM) and was reprinted in 1971.\par\par The vision to reprint a new edition of the whole New Testament has now been carried out by SOON in conjunction with EPH and OM. Where a change to more modern words has been made, this has been kept in line with the the Authorised Version.
bwe@Matthew:1:18 @ This is the way Jesus Christ was born. Mary, his mother, was promised to Joseph to be his wife. But before they were married, she found out that she was going to have a baby. It was by the Holy Spirit.
bwe@Matthew:1:19 @ Joseph, the man she was to marry, was a good man. He did not want her to be made ashamed. So he planned to leave her without telling people about it.
bwe@Matthew:1:21 @ She will have a baby son. Name him Jesus, because he will save his people from the wrong things they have done.
bwe@Matthew:5:31 @ The law said, "Any man who does not want to keep his wife must give her a paper to tell others she is no longer his wife."
bwe@Matthew:5:32 @ But I tell you, no man may send away his wife unless she has committed adultery. If he does send her away, he is making her commit adultery. And if a man marries a woman who has been sent away from her husband, he commits adultery.
bwe@Matthew:9:18 @ While Jesus was telling them these things, a ruler came to him. He bowed down in front of Jesus to worship him and said, My daughter has just died. But if you will come and put your hand on her, she will live.
bwe@Matthew:9:21 @ She said to herself, If only I touch his clothes, I will be well.
bwe@Matthew:14:7 @ He was so pleased that he promised to give her anything she asked for.
bwe@Matthew:14:8 @ The girls mother told her what to ask for. So she said, Give me here, on a plate, the head of John the Baptizer.
bwe@Matthew:14:11 @ Johns head was brought on a plate. It was given to the girl. And she took it to her mother.
bwe@Matthew:15:26 @ She answered, Yes, sir. But even the little dogs eat the food that falls from the tables of their masters.
bwe@Matthew:19:9 @ But I tell you this. No man may send his wife away unless she has committed adultery. If he does, and if he marries another woman, he commits adultery. And if a man marries a woman who has been sent away by her husband, he commits adultery.
bwe@Matthew:26:13 @ I tell you the truth. Any place in the whole world where people tell the good news, people will also tell what she has done. People will remember her because of it.
bwe@Matthew:26:71 @ Peter went out to the gate. There, another servant-girl saw him. She said to the others around there, This man was also with Jesus of Nazareth.
bwe@Mark:1:31 @ Jesus went to her. He took her hand and helped her up. The fever left her right away, and she began to do things to help them.
bwe@Mark:5:23 @ He said, My little daughter is dying. I beg you, come and put your hands on her so that she will be healed and live.
bwe@Mark:5:27 @ When she heard of Jesus, she came among the people behind him. Then she reached out and touched his clothes.
bwe@Mark:5:28 @ She said to herself, If only I touch his clothes, I will be well.
bwe@Mark:6:17 @ Herod had sent his people to catch John. They tied him and put him in prison to please Herodias. Herod had married her, but she was his brother Philips wife.
bwe@Mark:7:27 @ She answered, Yes, Sir. But even the little dogs under the table eat food that falls from the childrens table.
bwe@Mark:7:29 @ When she came to her house, she found that the bad spirit had left. Her daughter was lying on the bed.
bwe@Mark:10:12 @ If a woman sends away her husband and marries another man, she commits adultery.
bwe@Mark:12:23 @ Now then when people rise from death, whose wife will she be? All seven of them had married her.
bwe@Mark:14:9 @ I tell you the truth. Any place in the whole world where people tell the good news, people will also tell what she has done. People will remember her because of it.
bwe@Mark:16:10 @ She went and told the disciples that she had seen him. They were still crying because Jesus was dead.
bwe@Luke:1:24 @ After that, his wife Elizabeth found she was going to have a baby. For five months she stayed away from people.
bwe@Luke:1:25 @ She said to herself, The Lord has done this for me. At this time he has remembered me so that I need not be ashamed among people anymore.
bwe@Luke:1:40 @ She went into the house of Zechariah and greeted Elizabeth.
bwe@Luke:1:42 @ She said in a loud voice, God has made you happy and blessed you more than all other women. He has blessed your baby.
bwe@Luke:1:45 @ She who has believed what was told her is blessed. What the Lord said to her will come true.
bwe@Luke:1:48 @ He has remembered his servant even though she is not a great person. From now on all people of all times will say God has blessed me.
bwe@Luke:1:56 @ Mary stayed with Elizabeth for three months. Then she went home.
bwe@Luke:2:37 @ Then her husband died. Now she had been alone for eighty-...worshipped day and night. She talked...<FI>did not eat food for a time<Fi>.
bwe@Luke:7:37 @ In that city was a bad woman. When she knew that Jesus was eating at the Pharisees house, she came and brought a bottle of oil. It was oil that smelled very sweet and cost much money.
bwe@Luke:7:44 @ Then he turned towards the woman. He said to Simon, Do you see this woman? I came into your house. You did not give me water to wash my feet. But she has washed my feet with her tears and wiped them with her hair.
bwe@Luke:7:45 @ You did not kiss me. But since she came in, she has kissed my feet again and again.
bwe@Luke:7:46 @ You did not put oil on my head. But she has put sweet smelling oil on my feet.
bwe@Luke:7:47 @ So I tell you, she has done many wrong things, but she has been forgiven because she loved me so much. But one who has been forgiven a little loves me only a little
bwe@Luke:8:44 @ She came behind Jesus and touched his clothes. The bleeding stopped right away.
bwe@Luke:8:50 @ Jesus heard it. He said, Do not fear. Only believe and she will be healed.
bwe@Luke:8:53 @ They laughed at him because they knew she was dead.
bwe@Luke:8:55 @ Her life came back and she got up right away. He told them to give her something to eat.
bwe@Luke:10:39 @ She had a sister named Mary. Mary sat near the feet of Jesus and she listened to what he said.
bwe@Luke:13:13 @ Jesus put his hands on her, and right away she stood up straight. And she praised God.
bwe@Luke:13:16 @ This woman belongs to Abrahams family. Satan has tied her for eighteen years. Is it not right that she should be set free on the Sabbath day?
bwe@Luke:18:5 @ But this woman is troubling me. So I will save her from her enemy. If I do not, she will keep coming until I am tired."
bwe@Luke:20:33 @ Now then, when people rise from death, whose wife will she be? All seven of them had married her.
bwe@John:4:16 @ She said, I have no husband. Jesus said, You say, "I have no husband." That is true.
bwe@John:4:28 @ She said to the people, Come, I will show you a man who has told me everything I have done. Can this be the Christ?
bwe@John:8:11 @ She said, No one, Sir. Jesus said, I also do not judge you. Go, and do no wrong thing again.
bwe@John:11:20 @ As soon as Martha heard that Jesus was coming, she went to meet him. But Mary just stayed in the house.
bwe@John:11:27 @ She said, Yes, Lord, I believe that you are the Christ. I believe that you are the Son of God who was to come into the world.
bwe@John:11:29 @ When Mary heard that, she got up quickly and came to him.
bwe@John:11:32 @ Mary reached the place where Jesus was. When she saw him, she kneeled down before him and said, Lord, if you had been here, my brother would not have died.
bwe@John:20:11 @ But Mary stood outside the grave crying. As she cried, she bent down and looked into the grave.
bwe@John:20:12 @ She saw two angels with white clothes on. They were sitting where Jesus body had been. One sat at the head and one at the foot.
bwe@Acts:5:8 @ Peter asked her, Tell me, did you sell the field for so much money? and she answered, Yes, that is how much it was.
bwe@Acts:5:10 @ And she fell down at Peters feet and died. The young men came in and saw that she was dead. They carried her out and buried her beside her husband.
bwe@Acts:9:37 @ She became sick and died. They bathed her body and put her in a room upstairs.
bwe@Acts:9:39 @ Peter got up and went with them. When he got there, they took him to the room upstairs. Women whose husbands were dead stood there crying. They showed Peter the clothes and coats that Dorcas had made for them while she was with them.
bwe@Acts:12:15 @ They said, You are crazy. But she kept on saying that Peter was really there. Then they said, It must be his angel.
bwe@Acts:16:15 @ She and all the people in her house were baptised. Then she begged us and said, If you really feel that I believe in the Lord, come and stay at my house. And she would not allow us to say no.
bwe@Acts:16:18 @ She did this for many days. This troubled Paul. He turned and said to the spirit in her, In the name of Jesus Christ, I say to you, come out of her! And the spirit came out at once.
bwe@Romans:4:19 @ He did not stop believing when he thought about his own body. It was almost dead. He was about one hundred years old. He did not stop believing when he thought about Sarah, even though she had never given birth to any children.
bwe@Romans:7:2 @ A married woman belongs to her husband by law as long as he lives. But if her husband dies, she is free from the law that made her belong to her husband.
bwe@Romans:7:3 @ So if she belongs to another man while her husband is living, she commits adultery. But if her husband dies, she is free from that law. Then if she belongs to another man, she does not commit adultery.
bwe@1Corinthians:7:11 @ But if she does leave him, she must not marry again, or she must come back to her husband again. And the husband may not send away his wife.
bwe@1Corinthians:7:12 @ Here is what I say to other people. (This is my word, not the Lords.) Perhaps a Christian brother has a wife who is not a Christian. If she wants to stay with him, then he should not send her away.
bwe@1Corinthians:7:36 @ And if a man feels that he is doing the right thing for the woman he is to marry, then let him marry her. That is, if she is no longer young, and if he wants her very much. Then he must do as he thinks best. It is not wrong for him to do it.
bwe@1Corinthians:7:39 @ A wife may not leave her husband as long as he is living. But if he dies, she is free to marry any man she wants. Only this, he must be a Christian.
bwe@1Corinthians:7:40 @ But I think that she is happier if she stays as she is and does not marry again. (I think too that I am saying what the Spirit of God wants me to say in this matter.)
bwe@1Corinthians:11:6 @ If a woman does not cover her head, she might as well cut off her hair. But if it is a shame for a woman to cut off her hair, or to shave her head, then she should have her head covered.
bwe@1Timothy:5:5 @ A widow who has no one to help her, and is alone, trusts in God. Day and night she talks to God and asks him for the things she needs.
bwe@1Timothy:5:6 @ But a woman who spends her time in pleasing herself is really dead, even while she still lives.
bwe@1Timothy:5:9 @ A widow who is over sixty years old, may be chosen to help the church people. But she must have been the wife of one husband.
bwe@1Timothy:5:10 @ People must speak well of the good works she has done. Has she brought up children? Has she been kind to strangers and cared for them in her house? Has she washed the feet of Gods people? Has she helped people who were in trouble? Has she done every kind of good thing to help people?
bwe@Hebrews:11:11 @ Sarah also believed God, and she was able to have a baby even though she was too old to have children. But she trusted God to do what he had promised.
bwe@Revelation:2:21 @ I gave her time to stop, but she will not stop her wrong sexual ways and turn back to God.
bwe@Revelation:12:6 @ The woman ran away into the wilderness. There God had made a place ready for her. There she will have food for forty-two months.
bwe@Revelation:12:14 @ But the woman was given two wings like a big eagles wings. With them she could fly away from the dragon into the wilderness to her place where she would have food for three and a half periods of time.
bwe@Revelation:17:6 @ And I saw the woman was drunk because of the blood she drank. It was the blood of Gods people, and the blood of people who had been killed because they belonged to Jesus. When I saw her, I was very much surprised.
bwe@Revelation:17:16 @ You saw the ten horns and the animal. They will hate the bad woman. They will take away everything she has and her fine clothes. They will eat her body and burn her up in a fire.
bwe@Revelation:19:3 @ They said again, Praise God! The smoke where she burns goes up for ever and ever!
bwe@Revelation:19:8 @ She was given the right to wear fine linen, shining and clean. The fine linen means the good things Gods people have done.
