* My little children , these things write I (5719 ) unto you , that ye sin (5632 ) not . And if any man sin (5632 ), we have (5719 ) an advocate with the Father , Jesus Christ the righteous : * And he is (5748 ) the propitiation for our sins : and not for ours only , but also for the sins of the whole world . * And hereby we do know (5719 ) that we know (5758 ) him , if we keep (5725 ) his commandments . * He that saith (5723 ), I know (5758 ) him , and keepeth (5723 ) not his commandments , is (5748 ) a liar , and the truth is (5748 ) not in him . * But whoso keepeth (5725 ) his word , in him verily is the love of God perfected (5769 ): hereby know we (5719 ) that we are (5748 ) in him . * He that saith (5723 ) he abideth (5721 ) in him ought (5719 ) himself also so to walk (5721 ), even as he walked (5656 ). * Brethren , I write (5719 ) no new commandment unto you , but an old commandment which ye had (5707 ) from the beginning . The old commandment is (5748 ) the word which ye have heard (5656 ) from the beginning . * Again , a new commandment I write (5719 ) unto you , which thing is (5748 ) true in him and in you : because the darkness is past (5731 ), and the true light now shineth (5719 ). * He that saith (5723 ) he is (5750 ) in the light , and hateth (5723 ) his brother , is (5748 ) in darkness even until now . * He that loveth (5723 ) his brother abideth (5719 ) in the light , and there is (5748 ) none occasion of stumbling in him . * But he that hateth (5723 ) his brother is (5748 ) in darkness , and walketh (5719 ) in darkness , and knoweth (5758 ) not whither he goeth (5719 ), because that darkness hath blinded (5656 ) his eyes . * I write (5719 ) unto you , little children , because your sins are forgiven (5769 ) you for his names sake . * I write (5719 ) unto you , fathers , because ye have known (5758 ) him that is from the beginning . I write (5719 ) unto you , young men , because ye have overcome (5758 ) the wicked one . I write (5719 ) unto you , little children , because ye have known (5758 ) the Father . * I have written (5656 ) unto you , fathers , because ye have known (5758 ) him that is from the beginning . I have written (5656 ) unto you , young men , because ye are (5748 ) strong , and the word of God abideth (5719 ) in you , and ye have overcome (5758 ) the wicked one . * Love (5720 ) not the world , neither the things that are in the world . If any man love (5725 ) the world , the love of the Father is (5748 ) not in him . * For all that is in the world , the lust of the flesh , and the lust of the eyes , and the pride of life , is (5748 ) not of the Father , but is (5748 ) of the world . * And the world passeth away (5731 ), and the lust thereof : but he that doeth (5723 ) the will of God abideth (5719 ) for ever . * Little children , it is (5748 ) the last time : and as ye have heard (5656 ) that antichrist shall come (5736 ), even now are there (5754 ) many antichrists ; whereby we know (5719 ) that it is (5748 ) the last time . * They went out (5627 ) from us , but they were (5713 ) not of us ; for if they had been (5713 ) of us , they would no doubt have continued (5715 ) with us : but they went out , that they might be made manifest (5686 ) that they were (5748 ) not all of us . * But ye have (5719 ) an unction from the Holy One , and ye know (5758 ) all things . * I have not written (5656 ) unto you because ye know (5758 ) not the truth , but because ye know (5758 ) it , and that no lie is (5748 ) of the truth . * Who is (5748 ) a liar but he that denieth (5740 ) that Jesus is (5748 ) the Christ ? He is (5748 ) antichrist , that denieth (5740 ) the Father and the Son . * Whosoever denieth (5740 ) the Son , the same hath (5719 ) not the Father : (but ) he that acknowledgeth (5723 ) the Son hath (5719 ) the Father also . * Let that therefore abide (5720 ) in you , which ye have heard (5656 ) from the beginning . If that which ye have heard (5656 ) from the beginning shall remain (5661 ) in you , ye also shall continue (5692 ) in the Son , and in the Father . * And this is (5748 ) the promise that he hath promised (5662 ) us , even eternal life . * These things have I written (5656 ) unto you concerning them that seduce (5723 ) you . * But the anointing which ye have received (5627 ) of him abideth (5719 ) in you , and ye need (5719 ) not that any man teach (5725 ) you : but as the same anointing teacheth (5719 ) you of all things , and is (5748 ) truth , and is (5748 ) no lie , and even as it hath taught (5656 ) you , ye shall abide (5692 ) in him . * And now , little children , abide (5720 ) in him ; that , when he shall appear (5686 ), we may have (5725 ) confidence , and not be ashamed (5686 ) before him at his coming . * If ye know (5762 ) that he is (5748 ) righteous , ye know (5719 ) that every one that doeth (5723 ) righteousness is born (5769 ) of him .
