* After these things Jesus walked (5707 ) in Galilee : for he would (5707 ) not walk (5721 ) in Jewry , because the Jews sought (5707 ) to kill (5658 ) him . * Now the Jews feast of tabernacles was (5713 ) at hand . * His brethren therefore said (5627 ) unto him , Depart (5628 ) hence , and go (5720 ) into Judaea , that thy disciples also may see (5661 ) the works that thou doest (5719 ). * For there is no man that doeth (5719 ) any thing in secret , and he himself seeketh (5719 ) to be (5750 ) known openly . If thou do (5719 ) these things , shew (5657 ) thyself to the world . * For neither did his brethren believe (5707 ) in him . * Then Jesus said (5719 ) unto them , My time is not yet come (5748 ): but your time is (5748 ) alway ready . * The world cannot (5736 ) hate (5721 ) you ; but me it hateth (5719 ), because I testify (5719 ) of it , that the works thereof are (5748 ) evil . * Go ye up (5628 ) unto this feast : I go not up (5719 ) yet unto this feast ; for my time is not yet full come (5769 ). * When he had said (5631 ) these words unto them , he abode (5656 ) still in Galilee . * But when his brethren were gone up (5627 ), then went he also up (5627 ) unto the feast , not openly , but as it were in secret . * Then the Jews sought (5707 ) him at the feast , and said (5707 ), Where is (5748 ) he ? * And there was (5713 ) much murmuring among the people concerning him : for some said (5707 ), He is (5748 ) a good man : others said (5707 ), Nay ; but he deceiveth (5719 ) the people . * Howbeit no man spake (5707 ) openly of him for fear of the Jews . * Now about the midst of (5723 ) the feast Jesus went up (5627 ) into the temple , and taught (5707 ). * And the Jews marvelled (5707 ), saying (5723 ), How knoweth (5758 ) this man letters , having never learned (5761 )? * Jesus answered (5662 ) them , and said (5627 ), My doctrine is (5748 ) not mine , but his that sent (5660 ) me . * If any man will (5725 ) do (5721 ) his will , he shall know (5695 ) of the doctrine , whether it be (5748 ) of God , or whether I speak (5719 ) of myself . * He that speaketh (5723 ) of himself seeketh (5719 ) his own glory : but he that seeketh (5723 ) his glory that sent (5660 ) him , the same is (5748 ) true , and no unrighteousness is (5748 ) in him . * Did not Moses give (5758 ) you the law , and yet none of you keepeth (5719 ) the law ? Why go ye about (5719 ) to kill (5658 ) me ? * The people answered (5662 ) and said (5627 ), Thou hast (5719 ) a devil : who goeth about (5719 ) to kill (5658 ) thee ? * Jesus answered (5662 ) and said (5627 ) unto them , I have done (5656 ) one work , and ye all marvel (5719 ). * Moses therefore gave (5758 ) unto you circumcision ; (not because it is (5748 ) of Moses , but of the fathers ;) and ye on the sabbath day circumcise (5719 ) a man . * If a man on the sabbath day receive (5719 ) circumcision , that the law of Moses should not be broken (5686 ); are ye angry (5719 ) at me , because I have made (5656 ) a man every whit whole on the sabbath day ? * Judge (5720 ) not according to the appearance , but judge (5657 ) righteous judgment . * Then said (5707 ) some of them of Jerusalem , Is (5748 ) not this he , whom they seek (5719 ) to kill (5658 )? * But , lo , he speaketh (5719 ) boldly , and they say (5719 ) nothing unto him . Do the rulers know (5627 ) indeed that this is (5748 ) the very Christ ? * Howbeit we know (5758 ) this man whence he is (5748 ): but when Christ cometh (5741 ), no man knoweth (5719 ) whence he is (5748 ). * Then cried (5656 ) Jesus in the temple as he taught (5723 ), saying (5723 ), Ye both know me (5758 ), and ye know (5758 ) whence I am (5748 ): and I am not come (5754 ) of myself , but he that sent (5660 ) me is (5748 ) true , whom ye know (5758 ) not . * But I know (5758 ) him : for I am (5748 ) from him , and he hath sent (5656 ) me . * Then they sought (5707 ) to take (5658 ) him : but no man laid (5627 ) hands on him , because his hour was not yet come (5715 ). * And many of the people believed (5656 ) on him , and said (5707 ), When Christ cometh (5632 ), will he do (5692 ) more miracles than these which this man hath done (5656 )? * The Pharisees heard (5656 ) that the people murmured (5723 ) such things concerning him ; and the Pharisees and the chief priests sent (5656 ) officers to take (5661 ) him . * Then said (5627 ) Jesus unto them , Yet a little while am I (5748 ) with you , and then I go (5719 ) unto him that sent (5660 ) me . * Ye shall seek (5692 ) me , and shall not find (5692 ) me : and where I am (5748 ), thither ye cannot (5736 ) come (5629 ). * Then said (5627 ) the Jews among themselves , Whither will (5719 ) he go (5738 ), that we shall not find (5692 ) him ? will (5719 ) he go (5738 ) unto the dispersed among the Gentiles , and teach (5721 ) the Gentiles ? * What manner of saying is (5748 ) this that he said (5627 ), Ye shall seek (5692 ) me , and shall not find (5692 ) me : and where I am (5748 ), thither ye cannot (5736 ) come (5629 )? * In the last day , that great day of the feast , Jesus stood (5715 ) and cried (5656 ), saying (5723 ), If any man thirst (5725 ), let him come (5737 ) unto me , and drink (5720 ). * He that believeth (5723 ) on me , as the scripture hath said (5627 ), out of his belly shall flow (5692 ) rivers of living (5723 ) water . * (But this spake he (5627 ) of the Spirit , which they that believe (5723 ) on him should (5707 ) receive (5721 ): for the Holy Ghost was (5713 ) not yet given ; because that Jesus was not yet glorified (5681 ).) * Many of the people therefore , when they heard (5660 ) this saying , said (5707 ), Of a truth this is (5748 ) the Prophet . * Others said (5707 ), This is (5748 ) the Christ . But some said (5707 ), Shall Christ come (5736 ) out of Galilee ? * Hath not the scripture said (5627 ), That Christ cometh (5736 ) of the seed of David , and out of the town of Bethlehem , where David was (5713 )? * So there was (5633 ) a division among the people because of him . * And some of them would (5707 ) have taken (5658 ) him ; but no man laid (5627 ) hands on him . * Then came (5627 ) the officers to the chief priests and Pharisees ; and they said (5627 ) unto them , Why have ye not brought (5627 ) him ? * The officers answered (5662 ), Never man spake (5656 ) like this man . * Then answered (5662 ) them the Pharisees , Are ye also deceived (5769 )? * Have any of the rulers or of the Pharisees believed (5656 ) on him ? * But this people who knoweth (5723 ) not the law are (5748 ) cursed . * Nicodemus saith (5719 ) unto them , (he that came (5631 ) to Jesus by night , being (5752 ) one of them ,) * Doth our law judge (5719 ) any man , before it hear (5661 ) him , and know (5632 ) what he doeth (5719 )? * They answered (5662 ) and said (5627 ) unto him , Art (5748 ) thou also of Galilee ? Search (5657 ), and look : for out of Galilee ariseth (5769 ) no prophet . * And every man went (5675 ) unto his own house .
