I was redeemed by our Savior Jesus Christ back in October 1979. Raised and confirmed Methodist by a loving mother and gra.mdother, by middle school I had drifted far off course into drugs and the local music and party scene. Several close calls with the Law and violence latter, with the heavy weight of the Holy Spirit upon me, I called out to the Lord Jesus Christ one dreadful night to save my soul, fearing that I would not live to see the next morning light, fearing that I had done nothing yet to set my soul right with HIM my maker. My life has been changed dramatically from there, ever since.

This new life in some respects has been an odd journey. I often get these grand ideas in my head that I know how to make my mark, God's will for me is this or that, and I set out to do them. I have sought to publicly preach and have experienced that. I have sought street ministry and have experienced that. I have sought to be an elder, a music worship leader, book author, you name it. Grand idea's, occupations, titles to be known by and hang my Christian hat upon, only to later be reminded it is not for me to make my mark. No, it is for Christ to His.

Perhaps my most cherished time to date was in befriending a young homeless man "Al". His friendship lead into the friendship of several more fallen upon hard times. It was a time that I wasn't trying to be anybody other than just a close and available "christian" friend; something they had not seen or experienced, nor I. Of all that I have learned over these forty plus years, this would be my best advice for those new to Christ: be a loving and caring christian friend to all others.

My concerns for this present day revolve around the observance that our modern age is quickly turning. We are transitioning from a time when American Christianity was familiar/acceptable to the masses, to a time where it is utterly foreign and socially/academically/politically despised and forbidden. This increasingly perceivable shift has happened at a much quicker pace than any of us "old timers" had ever imagined. Again, I have grandiose ideas of what I can do to stand up, stand out and turn back this tide. Once again I have to be reminded that our LORD often chooses to work His good pleasure through the common people that history and renown will never hear of, people like you and I. These will be a people gathered together for one purpose: God's purpose, Christ our King's purpose, that glorifying purpose alone.

In developing this pBiblx2 Field Wise Bible System, I hope that it might be used as yet another edifying tool by unseen peoples of Christ to learn from and be encouraged by each other in our common experience towards His purpose.
