@ DESCRIPTION: Welcome to the third edition of The English Majority Text Version (EMTV) of the Holy Bible. This latest edition has Greek explanatory notes throughout the Bible, to aid the reader in understanding the meanings in some select places of the original Koine Greek. Also, the third edition finds itself closer to the Robinson/Pierpoint printed edition of the Byzantine majority text, rather than the Hodges/Farstad text, which the EMTV was translated from. You will notice these differences in John strkjv@7:53-8:11, as well as the entire book of Revelation. The English Majority Text Version draws from the work of both Dr.’s Hodges and Farstad, and their text, “The Greek New Testament According to the Majority Text,” as well as from Dr. Wilbur Pickering, ThM. PhD., and the EMTV has incorporated his hard work in the field of producing evidence of just what does constitute a majority reading, and, as a result of his work, and the work of others, John strkjv@7:53-8:11, and the book of Revelation reflect these variant readings. This is one of the great things about having a Bible that is translated from the majority of the trustworthy Byzantine manuscripts that are in existence—the much greater probability of accuracy. On the other side of the fence, most modern Bibles are translated from a few scant manuscripts (literally), and more often than not they do not even agree with each other. Not so with a Bible that is translated out of the majority! The experts in linguistics who have put these readings together, and diligently compared the manuscripts, had hundreds and hundreds of manuscripts to compare. It is my prayer that this work will bring honor to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and to our God and Father; because all of this, all that we do, we do to know Him better, and to better understand His word, which He has given to mankind. “Every word of God is pure; He is a shield to those who put their trust in Him. Do not add to His words, Lest He rebuke you, and you be found a liar. (Prove strkjv@30:5,6). Peace of Christ to you all. In His service, Paul W Esposito Stauros Ministries

emtv@Matthew:8:34 @ And behold, the whole city came out to meet Jesus. And seeing Him, they implored Him that He might go away from their region.
emtv@Matthew:9:2 @ And behold, they were carrying a paralytic to Him lying on a bed. And when Jesus saw their faith, He said to the paralytic, "Have courage, child; your sins are forgiven you."
emtv@Matthew:9:31 @ But they, having gone out, spread the news about Him in that whole land.
emtv@Matthew:9:32 @ And as they were going out, behold, they brought to Him a mute man, being demon-possessed.

emtv@Matthew:14:3 @...bound him, and put him in...
emtv@Matthew:14:5 @...crowd, because they counted him as...
emtv@Matthew:14:13 @ When Jesus heard it, He withdrew from there in a boat for a deserted place privately. But when the crowds heard it, they followed Him on foot from the cities.
emtv@Matthew:14:22 @ And immediately Jesus compelled the disciples to get into the boat, and to go ahead of Him to the other side, until He could dismiss the crowds.
emtv@Matthew:14:26 @ And when the disciples saw Him walking on the sea, they were terrified, and said, "It is a ghost!"And they cried out for fear.
emtv@Matthew:14:28 @ But Peter answered Him and said, "Lord, if it is You, command me to come to You on the waters."
emtv@Matthew:14:35 @ And when the men of that place recognized Him, they sent out into all that surrounding region, and they brought to Him all those who were ill,
emtv@Matthew:14:36 @ and begged Him that they might only touch the hem of His garment. And as many as touched [Him] were completely healed.
emtv@Matthew:15:4 @...mother, with death let him... die.'
emtv@Matthew:16:1 @ Then the Pharisees and Sadducees came, and testing [Him], they asked Him to show them a sign out of heaven.
emtv@Matthew:16:22 @ And taking Him aside, Peter began to rebuke Him, saying, "God be gracious to You, Lord! This shall by no means happen to You!"

emtv@Matthew:19:12 @ For there are eunuchs who were born thus from their mother's womb, and there are eunuchs who were made eunuchs by men, and there are eunuchs who have made themselves eunuchs for the kingdom of heaven's sake. He who is able to accept [this], let him accept [it]."
emtv@Matthew:20:18 @ "Behold, we are going up to Jerusalem, and the Son of Man will be betrayed to the chief priests and scribes, and they will condemn Him to death,
emtv@Matthew:20:19 @ and they will hand Him over to the Gentiles to mock and to scourge and to crucify. And the third day He shall rise again."
emtv@Matthew:20:20 @ Then the mother of Zebedee's sons came to Him with her sons, worshipping [Him,] and asking something from Him.
emtv@Matthew:20:27 @...first among you, let him be...
emtv@Matthew:21:14 @ Then the lame and the blind came to Him in the temple, and He healed them.
emtv@Matthew:21:23 @ Now as He came into the temple, the chief priests and the elders of the people confronted Him as He was teaching, and said, "By what authority are You doing these things? And who gave You this authority?"
emtv@Matthew:21:41 @ They said to Him, "He will destroy [those] wicked [men]...who will render to him the...
emtv@Matthew:21:44 @...falls, it will grind him to...
emtv@Matthew:21:46 @ And seeking to seize Him, they feared the crowds, since they considered Him as a prophet.
emtv@Matthew:22:13 @...hands and feet, take him away,...[him] into outer darkness; there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.'
emtv@Matthew:22:15 @ Then the Pharisees went and plotted how they might trap Him in His speech.
emtv@Matthew:22:16 @ And they sent their disciples to Him with the Herodians, saying, "Teacher, we know that You are true, and teach the way of God in truth; nor do You show favoritism to anyone.
emtv@Matthew:22:19 @ Show Me the tax money."So they brought Him a denarius.
emtv@Matthew:22:35 @ Then one of them, a lawyer, asked Him a question, testing Him, and saying,
emtv@Matthew:22:43 @ He said to them, "How then does David in the Spirit call Him 'Lord,' saying:
emtv@Matthew:22:45 @ "If David therefore calls Him 'Lord,' how is He his Son?"
emtv@Matthew:22:46 @ And no one was able to answer Him a word, nor from that day on did anyone dare question Him any longer.
emtv@Matthew:23:15 @ Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! Because you travel around land and sea to make one proselyte, and whenever he becomes [one], you make him twice as much a son of hell as you.
emtv@Matthew:23:21 @ He that swears by the temple, swears by it and by Him who dwelt in it.
emtv@Matthew:23:22 @ And he that swears by heaven, swears by the throne of God and by Him who sits on it.
emtv@Matthew:24:1 @ Then Jesus went out and departed from the temple, and His disciples came to [Him] to point out to Him the buildings of the temple.
emtv@Matthew:24:3 @ And as He was sitting on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to Him privately, saying, "Tell us, when shall these things be? And what [shall be] the sign of Your coming, and of the end of the age?"
emtv@Matthew:24:15 @ "Therefore when you see the 'abomination of desolation,' spoken of through Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place"(whoever reads, let him understand),
emtv@Matthew:24:47 @...that he will make him ruler...
emtv@Matthew:24:51 @...and he will cut him in...
emtv@Matthew:25:10 @...ready went in with him to...
emtv@Matthew:25:28 @...and give it to him who...
emtv@Matthew:25:29 @ For to everyone who has, [more]...have abundance; but to him who...
emtv@Matthew:26:7 @ a woman came to Him having an alabaster [flask] of very expensive perfume, and she began to pour it on His head as He reclined to eat.
emtv@Matthew:26:15 @...they weighed out for him thirty...[coins].
emtv@Matthew:26:47 @...twelve came, and with him a...[sent] from the chief priests and elders of the people.
emtv@Matthew:26:48 @ Now the [one] betraying Him had given them a sign, saying, "Whomever I shall kiss, He is [the One]; seize Him."
emtv@Matthew:26:56 @ But all this has happened so that the Scriptures of the prophets may be fulfilled."Then all the disciples forsook Him and fled.
emtv@Matthew:26:58 @ But Peter was following Him from a distance, up to the courtyard of the high priest. And entering inside, he sat down with the attendants to see the end.
emtv@Matthew:26:59 @ Now the chief priests, the elders, and all the Sanhedrin were seeking false witnesses against Jesus, so that they might put Him to death,
emtv@Matthew:26:67 @ Then they spat in His face, and beat Him with [their] fists; and they slapped [Him,]
emtv@Matthew:26:71 @ And when he had gone out to the gateway, another [girl] saw him and said to them there, "This [man] was with Jesus the Nazarene."
emtv@Matthew:27:1 @ When morning came, all the chief priests and elders of the people plotted against Jesus, so as to put Him to death.
emtv@Matthew:27:2 @ And having bound Him, they led Him away and delivered Him to Pontius Pilate the governor.
emtv@Matthew:27:9 @ Then was fulfilled the thing spoken through Jeremiah the prophet, saying, "And they took the thirty [coins], the value of Him who was priced, whom they of the sons of Israel priced,
emtv@Matthew:27:14 ...And He answered him not...
emtv@Matthew:27:18 @ For he knew that they had handed Him over because of envy.
emtv@Matthew:27:22 @...Christ?"They all said to him, "Let...
emtv@Matthew:27:23 @ Then the governor said, "Why, what evil did He do?"But they cried out all the more, saying, "Let Him be crucified!"
emtv@Matthew:27:26 @ Then he released Barabbas to them; and having scourged Jesus, he delivered Him to be crucified.
emtv@Matthew:27:31 @ And when they had mocked Him, they stripped Him of the robe, and dressed Him in His own clothes, and led Him away in order to crucify [Him].
emtv@Matthew:27:32 @ And going out, they found a man of Cyrene, Simon by name. Him they pressed into service that he might carry His cross.
emtv@Matthew:27:34 @ they gave Him sour wine mingled with gall to drink. But having tasted it, He would not drink.
emtv@Matthew:27:36 @ And sitting down, they guarded Him there.
emtv@Matthew:27:42 @ He saved others; Himself He cannot save. If He is the King of Israel, let Him now come down from the cross, and we will believe on Him.
emtv@Matthew:27:43 @ He trusted in God; let Him deliver Him now if He'll [have] Him; for He said, 'I am the Son of God.' "
emtv@Matthew:27:44 @ Even the thieves who were crucified with Him were reviling Him with the same [insult].
emtv@Matthew:27:48 @ Immediately one of them ran and took a sponge, and filled it with sour wine and put it around a reed, and offered it to Him to drink.
emtv@Matthew:27:54 @...centurion and those with him guarding...
emtv@Matthew:28:13 @ saying, "Tell them, 'His disciples came at night and stole Him away while we were sleeping.'
emtv@Matthew:28:14 @...ears, we will influence him and...
emtv@Mark:1:5 @...were all baptized by him in...
emtv@Mark:1:10 @ And immediately, coming up from the water, He saw the heavens parting and the Spirit coming down upon Him like a dove.
emtv@Mark:1:12 @ And immediately the Spirit drove Him into the wilderness.
emtv@Mark:1:26 @...the unclean spirit threw him into...
emtv@Mark:1:28 @ And immediately the report of Him went out into the whole surrounding region of Galilee.
emtv@Mark:1:30 @ And the mother-in-law of Simon was lying sick with a fever, and immediately they spoke to Him about her.
emtv@Mark:1:32 @ Now when evening came, when the sun set, they were bringing to Him all those who were ill, and those who were demon-possessed.
emtv@Mark:1:36 @ And Simon and those who were with Him sought Him out.
emtv@Mark:1:40 @ Then a leper came to Him, beseeching Him, kneeling before Him and saying to Him, "If You are willing, You are able to cleanse me."
emtv@Mark:1:43 @ And [after]...him, immediately He sent him... away,
emtv@Mark:1:45 @ But he went out and began to proclaim it freely, and to spread widely the report, so that He was no longer able to enter into a city, but was outside in deserted places; and they were coming to Him from everywhere.
emtv@Mark:2:4 @ And not being able to get near Him because of the crowd, they removed the tiles from the roof where He was, and having dug through they let down the bed on which the paralytic was lying.
emtv@Mark:2:16 @ And the scribes and Pharisees, seeing Him eating with the tax collectors and sinners, said to His disciples, "Why does He eat and drink with tax collectors and sinners?"
emtv@Mark:3:2 @...whether He would heal him on...
emtv@Mark:3:9 @ So He told His disciples that a small boat should be kept ready for Him because of the crowd, lest they should crush Him.
emtv@Mark:3:11 @ And the unclean spirits, whenever they saw Him, fell down before Him and would cry out, saying, "You are the Son of God."
emtv@Mark:3:12 @ And He would warn them very much that they should not make Him known.
emtv@Mark:4:9 @...ears to hear, let him... hear!"
emtv@Mark:4:10 @...when He was by himself, those...
emtv@Mark:4:23 @...ears to hear, let him... hear."
emtv@Mark:4:36 @ And leaving the crowd, they took Him along as He was in the boat. And other little boats were also with Him.
emtv@Mark:4:38 @ But He was in the stern, sleeping upon the cushion. And they awakened Him and said to Him, "Teacher! Does it not matter to You that we are perishing?"
emtv@Mark:5:2 @ And when He got out of the boat, immediately there met Him from the tombs a man with an unclean spirit,
emtv@Mark:5:10 @ And he was imploring Him many [times] that He would not send them out of the region.
emtv@Mark:5:15 @...to Jesus, and observed him who...-possessed and had the legion, sitting and having been clothed and being of sound mind, and they were afraid.
emtv@Mark:5:16 @...how it happened to him who...-possessed, and about the pigs.
emtv@Mark:5:17 @ Then they began to implore Him to go away from their region.
emtv@Mark:5:18 @ And when He got into the boat, he who had been demon-possessed implored Him that he might be with Him.
emtv@Mark:5:23 @ and was imploring Him many [times], saying, "My little daughter is near death, please come and lay Your hands on her, so that she may be healed, and live."
emtv@Mark:5:27 @ when she heard about Jesus, she came from behind Him in the crowd and touched His clothing.
emtv@Mark:5:33 @ But the woman, fearing and trembling, knowing what had happened to her, came and fell down before Him and told Him the whole truth.
emtv@Mark:5:37 @ And He did not permit anyone to follow along with Him except for Peter, James, and John the brother of James.
emtv@Mark:6:17 @...of John, and bound him in...
emtv@Mark:6:19 @...was desiring to kill him, but...
emtv@Mark:6:20 @...And when he heard him, he...
emtv@Mark:6:27 @...having departed, he beheaded him in...
emtv@Mark:6:30 @ Then the apostles gathered to Jesus and they reported to Him all things, both everything they had done and everything they had taught.
emtv@Mark:6:35 @ And when it grew late, His disciples came to Him and said, "The place is deserted, and already the hour is late.
emtv@Mark:6:49 @ And seeing Him walking on the sea, they supposed Him to be a spirit, and they cried out;
emtv@Mark:6:50 @ for they all saw Him and were troubled. But immediately He spoke with them, and said to them, "Have courage! [It is] I AM; do not be afraid."
emtv@Mark:6:56 @ And wherever He would enter into villages, or towns, or the country, they laid the sick in the marketplaces, and they would beg Him at least that they might touch the hem of His garment. And as many as touched Him were healed.
emtv@Mark:7:10 @...father or mother, let him surely...
emtv@Mark:7:12 @...you no longer allow him to...
emtv@Mark:7:16 @...ears to hear, let him... hear!"
emtv@Mark:7:17 @ When He had entered a house [away] from the crowd, His disciples were asking Him about the parable.
emtv@Mark:7:26 @ Now the woman was a Greek, a Syro-Phoenician by race, and she was asking Him to cast the demon out from her daughter.
emtv@Mark:7:32 @...lay His hand upon him....
emtv@Mark:7:33 @...when he had taken him aside...
emtv@Mark:8:11 @ Then the Pharisees came out and began to question Him, seeking from Him a sign from heaven, testing Him.
emtv@Mark:8:22 @...implored Him to touch him....
emtv@Mark:8:23 @ And having taken the hand of the blind [man]...on him, He asked him if...
emtv@Mark:8:25 @...eyes again and made him to...
emtv@Mark:8:26 ...Then He sent him away...
emtv@Mark:8:32 @ He was speaking this word with boldness. And Peter, taking Him aside, began to rebuke Him.
emtv@Mark:8:34 @...Me, let him deny himself, and...
emtv@Mark:9:13 @...and they did to him whatever...
emtv@Mark:9:18 @...seizes him, it throws him down,...
emtv@Mark:9:19 @...bear with you? Bring him to...
emtv@Mark:9:22 @...that it may destroy him. But...[to do] anything, help us and have compassion on us."
emtv@Mark:9:23 @...things are possible to him that...
emtv@Mark:9:25 @...of him and enter him no...
emtv@Mark:9:26 @...out and having convulsed him greatly,...
emtv@Mark:9:27 @...by the hand, lifted him up,...
emtv@Mark:9:28 @ And after He entered into a house, His disciples asked Him privately, "Why were we not able to cast it out?"
emtv@Mark:9:36 @...their midst. And taking him in...
emtv@Mark:9:37 @ whoever receives one of these little children in My name receives Me; and whoever receives Me, receives not Me, but Him who sent Me."
emtv@Mark:9:38 @...name, and we forbade him because...
emtv@Mark:9:42 @...would be better for him if...
emtv@Mark:10:10 @ In the house His disciples also asked Him again concerning the same [matter].
emtv@Mark:10:13 @ And they were bringing to Him little children, that He might touch them; but the disciples were rebuking those who brought them.
emtv@Mark:10:33 @ "Behold, we are going up to Jerusalem, and the Son of Man will be delivered up to the chief priests and to the scribes; and they will condemn Him to death and will deliver Him over to the Gentiles;
emtv@Mark:10:49 @...blind man, saying to him, "Have...
emtv@Mark:12:3 ...And they took him and...[him] and sent [him] away empty-[handed].
emtv@Mark:12:4 @...stones, and they sent him away...
emtv@Mark:12:6 @...beloved, he even sent him to...
emtv@Mark:12:8 ..."And taking him they...[him], and cast [him] out of the vineyard.
emtv@Mark:12:13 @ Then they sent to Him some of the Pharisees and the Herodians, in order that they might catch Him in [His ]discourse.
emtv@Mark:12:33 @ And to love Him with the whole heart, and with the whole understanding, with all the soul, and with all the strength, and to love one's neighbor as oneself, is more than all the whole burnt offerings and sacrifices."
emtv@Mark:12:37 ..."Therefore David himself calls...
emtv@Mark:13:3 @ And He was sitting on the Mount of Olives opposite the temple, Peter, James, John, and Andrew asked Him privately,
emtv@Mark:13:14 @ "So whenever you see the 'abomination of desolation,' spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing where he must not"-he who reads, let him understand-"then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains.
emtv@Mark:13:15 ...And let him on...
emtv@Mark:13:16 ...And let him who...[, ]to take his garment.
emtv@Mark:14:1 @ Now after two days it was the Passover and the Feast of Unleavened Bread. And the chief priests and the scribes were seeking how they might get hold of Him by guile, and [how ]they might kill [Him].
emtv@Mark:14:10 @ Then Judas Iscariot, one of the twelve, went off to the chief priests to betray Him to them.
emtv@Mark:14:11 @...and promised to give him money....
emtv@Mark:14:19 @ And they began to be sorrowful, and to say to Him one by one, "[Is it] I?"And another said, "[Is it] I?"
emtv@Mark:14:43 @...the twelve, and with him a...[sent] from the chief priests and the scribes and the elders.
emtv@Mark:14:44 @ Now His betrayer had given to them a sign, saying, "Whomever I shall kiss, He is [the One]; take Him and lead [Him] away safely."
emtv@Mark:14:45 @ And when he arrived, immediately he approached Him and said to Him, "Rabbi, Rabbi!"and he affectionately kissed Him.
emtv@Mark:14:46 @ Then they laid their hands on Him and seized Him.
emtv@Mark:14:50 @ Then they all forsook Him and fled.
emtv@Mark:14:53 @...high priest; and with him were...
emtv@Mark:14:54 @...the attendants and warming himself at...
emtv@Mark:14:55 @ Now the chief priests and the whole council were seeking testimony against Jesus, in order to put Him to death, but found none.
emtv@Mark:14:58 @ "We heard Him saying, 'I will destroy this temple made with hands, and after three days I will build another [one ]not made with hands.' "
emtv@Mark:14:64 @ You have heard the blasphemy! How does it appear to you?"And they all condemned Him to be deserving of death.
emtv@Mark:14:65 @ Then some began to spit on Him, and to blindfold Him, and to beat Him with [their] fists, and to say to Him, "Prophesy!"And the attendants were striking Him with slaps [to the face.]
emtv@Mark:14:67 @...himself, she looked at him and...
emtv@Mark:14:69 @...the servant girl seeing him again,...[man] is one of them."
emtv@Mark:15:3 @ And the chief priests were accusing Him of many things.
emtv@Mark:15:4 @ Then Pilate questioned Him again, saying, "Do You answer nothing? See how many things they testify against You!"
emtv@Mark:15:10 @ For he knew that because of envy the chief priests had delivered Him up.
emtv@Mark:15:12 @ But Pilate answered and said to them again, "What then do you desire [that] I should do [with Him ]whom you call King of the Jews?"
emtv@Mark:15:15 @ So Pilate, wanting to gratify the crowd, released Barabbas to them; and he delivered up Jesus, after he had Him flogged, so that He might be crucified.
emtv@Mark:15:16 @ Then the soldiers led Him away into the courtyard, which is the Praetorium, and assembled the whole garrison.
emtv@Mark:15:17 @ And they clothed Him with purple; and they twisted a crown of thorns, and they put it around His head,
emtv@Mark:15:20 @ And when they had mocked Him, they stripped Him of the purple, and dressed Him in His own clothing. And led Him out so that they might crucify Him.
emtv@Mark:15:22 @ And they brought Him to the place [called ]Golgotha, which is translated, Place of a Skull.
emtv@Mark:15:23 @ And they gave Him wine mingled with myrrh to drink, but He did not take it.
emtv@Mark:15:27 @ And together with Him they crucified two bandits, one on His right side and the one on His left.
emtv@Mark:15:32 @ Let the Christ, the King of Israel, come down now from the cross, so that we may see and believe Him."Even those who were crucified with Him were reviling Him.
emtv@Mark:15:36 @ And one, running and having filled a sponge [with] vinegar, and having put it around a reed, was giving a drink to Him, saying, "Leave Him alone; let us see if Elijah is coming to take Him down."
emtv@Mark:15:39 @ Now when the centurion who stood across from Him saw that He cried out like this and breathed His last, he said, "Truly this Man was the Son of God!"
