@1Kings:15:1 @ Now in the eighteenth year of king Jeroboam the son of Nebat became Abiyam king over Judah.
sf_leeser_rev1@1Kings:15:2 @ Three years he reigned in Jerusalem. And his mothers name was Maachah, the daughter of Abishalom.
sf_leeser_rev1@1Kings:15:3 @ And he walked in all the sins of his father, which he had done before him; and his heart was not entire with the Lord his God, like the heart of David his father.
sf_leeser_rev1@1Kings:15:4 @ Nevertheless for the sake of David did the Lord his God give him a rule in Jerusalem, to set up his son after him, and to allow Jerusalem to exist.
sf_leeser_rev1@1Kings:15:5 @ Because David did what is right in the eyes of the Lord, and turned not aside from all that he had commanded him all the days of his life, save only in the matter of Uriyah the Hittite.
sf_leeser_rev1@1Kings:15:6 @ And there had been war between Rehoboam and Jeroboam all the days of his life.
sf_leeser_rev1@1Kings:15:7 @ And the rest of the acts of Abiyam, and all that he did, behold, they are written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah. And there was war between Abiyam and Jeroboam.
sf_leeser_rev1@1Kings:15:8 @ And Abiyam slept with his fathers; and they buried him in the city of David: and Assa his son became king in his stead.
sf_leeser_rev1@1Kings:15:9 @ And in the twentieth year of Jeroboam the king of Israel became Assa king over Judah.
sf_leeser_rev1@1Kings:15:10 @ And forty and one years did he reign in Jerusalem. And the name of his mother was Maachah, the daughter of Abishalom.
sf_leeser_rev1@1Kings:15:11 @ And Assa did what is right in the eyes of the Lord, like David his father.
sf_leeser_rev1@1Kings:15:12 @ And he put away the sodomites out of the land, and removed all the idols which his fathers had made.
sf_leeser_rev1@1Kings:15:13 @ And also Maachah his mother, even her he removed from being queen; because she had made a scandalous image for the grove; and Assa cut down her scandalous image, and burnt it by the brook Kidron.

sf_leeser_rev1@1Kings:15:17 @ And Basha the king of Israel went up against Judah, and built Ramah, in order not to suffer any one to go out or come in to Assa the king of Judah.
sf_leeser_rev1@1Kings:15:18 @ Then did Assa take all the silver and the gold that were left in the treasures of the house of the Lord, and the treasures of the kings house, and gave them into the hand of his servants; and king Assa sent them to Benhadad, the son of Tabrimmon, the son of Chesyon, the king of Syria, who dwelt in Damascus, saying,

sf_leeser_rev1@1Kings:15:20 @ And Benhadad hearkened unto king Assa, and sent the captains of the armies which he had against the cities of Israel, and smote Iyon, and Dan, and Abelbethmaachah, and the whole of Kinneroth, with all the land of Naphtali.

sf_leeser_rev1@1Kings:15:22 @ Then king Assa called together by proclamation all Judah, none being exempted: and they took away the stones of Ramah, and its timber, wherewith Basha had built; and king Assa built with them Geba of Benjamin, and Mizpah.

sf_leeser_rev1@1Kings:15:24 @ And Assa slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in the city of David his father: and Jehoshaphat his son became king in his stead.
sf_leeser_rev1@1Kings:15:25 @ And Nadab the son of Jeroboam became king over Israel in the second year of Assa the king of Judah; and he reigned over Israel two years.
sf_leeser_rev1@1Kings:15:26 @ And he did what is evil in the eyes of the Lord, and he walked in the way of his father, and in his sin wherewith he had induced Israel to sin.
sf_leeser_rev1@1Kings:15:27 @ And Basha the son of Achiyah, of the house of Issachar, conspired against him; and Basha smote him at Gibbethon, which belonged to the Philistines: while Nadab and all Israel were besieging Gibbethon.
sf_leeser_rev1@1Kings:15:28 @ And Basha slew him in the third year of Assa the king of Judah, and became king in his stead.
sf_leeser_rev1@1Kings:15:29 @ And it came to pass, when he reigned, that he smote all the house of Jeroboam; he left not any that breathed unto Jeroboam, until he had destroyed him, according to the word of the Lord, which he had spoken by his servant Achiyah the Shilonite;
sf_leeser_rev1@1Kings:15:30 @ Because of the sins of Jeroboam which he had sinned, and through which he had induced Israel to sin, by his provoking wherewith he provoked the Lord the God of Israel to anger.

sf_leeser_rev1@1Kings:15:33 @ In the third year of Assa the king of Judah became Basha the son of Achiyah king over all Israel, in Thirzah, twenty and four years.
sf_leeser_rev1@1Kings:15:34 @ And he did what is evil in the eyes of the Lord, and walked in the way of Jeroboam, and in his sin wherewith he had induced Israel to sin.
sf_leeser_rev1@1Kings:16:1 @ Then came the word of the Lord to Jehu the son of Chanani against Basha, saying,
sf_leeser_rev1@1Kings:16:2 @ Forasmuch as I lifted thee up out of the dust, and I set thee as prince over my people Israel; and thou hast walked in the way of Jeroboam, and hast induced my people Israel to sin, to provoke me to anger with their sins:
sf_leeser_rev1@1Kings:16:3 @ Behold, I will sweep out after Basha, and after his house; and I will render thy house like the house of Jeroboam the son of Nebat;
sf_leeser_rev1@1Kings:16:4 @ Him that dieth of Basha in the city shall the dogs eat; and him that dieth of his in the field shall the fowls of the heavens eat.

sf_leeser_rev1@1Kings:16:6 @ And Basha slept with his fathers, and was buried in Thirzah: and Elah his son became king in his stead.
sf_leeser_rev1@1Kings:16:7 @ And also by the hand of Jehu the son of Chanani, the prophet, came the word of the Lord against Basha, and against his house, both for all the evil that he did in the eyes of the Lord, to provoke him to anger with the work of his hands, thus being like the house of Jeroboam; and because he had killed him.

sf_leeser_rev1@1Kings:16:9 @ And there conspired against him his servant Zimri, captain of half the chariots, as he was in Thirzah, drinking himself drunk in the house of Arza, who was set over the house in Thirzah.
sf_leeser_rev1@1Kings:16:10 @ And Zimri went in and smote him, and killed him, in the twenty and seventh year of Assa the king of Judah, and became king in his stead.
sf_leeser_rev1@1Kings:16:11 @ And it came to pass, when he began to reign, as soon as he sat on his throne, that he slew all the house of Basha: he left him not a single male, neither of his kinsfolks, nor of his friends.
sf_leeser_rev1@1Kings:16:12 @ Thus did Zimri exterminate all the house of Basha, according to the word of the Lord, which he had spoken against Basha by the agency of Jehu the prophet,
sf_leeser_rev1@1Kings:16:13 @ For all the sins of Basha, and the sins of Elah his son, by which they had sinned, and by which they had induced Israel to sin, to provoke the Lord the God of Israel to anger with their vanities.
sf_leeser_rev1@1Kings:16:14 @ Now the rest of the acts of Elah, and all that he did, behold, they are written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel.
sf_leeser_rev1@1Kings:16:15 @ In the twenty and seventh year of Assa the king of Judah did Zimri reign seven days in Thirzah: and the people were encamped against Gibbethon, which belonged to the Philistines.
sf_leeser_rev1@1Kings:16:16 @ And when the people that were encamped heard it said, Zimri hath conspired, and hath also slain the king: all Israel made Omri, the captain of the army, king over Israel on that day in the camp.
sf_leeser_rev1@1Kings:16:17 @ And Omri went up, and all Israel with him from Gibbethon, and they besieged Thirzah.
sf_leeser_rev1@1Kings:16:18 @ And it came to pass, when Zimri saw that the city was captured, that he went into the stronghold of the kings house, and burnt the kings house over him with fire, and he died;
sf_leeser_rev1@1Kings:16:19 @ For his sins which he had sinned, in doing what is evil in the eyes of the Lord, to walk in the way of Jeroboam, and in his sin which he did, to induce Israel to sin.
sf_leeser_rev1@1Kings:16:20 @ And the rest of the acts of Zimri, and his conspiracy that he contrived, behold, they are written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel.
sf_leeser_rev1@1Kings:16:21 @ At that time were the people of Israel divided into two parts: one half of the people followed Thibni the son of Ginath, to make him king; and the other half followed Omri.
sf_leeser_rev1@1Kings:16:22 @ But the people that followed Omri prevailed against the people that followed Thibni the son of Ginath: and Thibni died, and Omri became king.
sf_leeser_rev1@1Kings:16:23 @ In the thirty and first year of Assa the king of Judah became Omri king over Israel, twelve years; in Thirzah he reigned six years.
sf_leeser_rev1@1Kings:16:24 @ And he bought the mount Samaria, of Shemer for two talents of silver, and built on the mount, and called the name of the city which he had built, after the name of Shemer, the Lord of the mount, Samaria.

sf_leeser_rev1@1Kings:16:26 @ And he walked in all the way of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, and in his sin wherewith he induced Israel to sin, to provoke the Lord God of Israel to anger with their vanities.
sf_leeser_rev1@1Kings:16:27 @ Now the rest of the acts of Omri which he did, and his mighty deeds that he displayed, behold, they are written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel.
sf_leeser_rev1@1Kings:16:28 @ And Omri slept with his fathers, and was buried in Samaria: and Achab his son became king in his stead.
sf_leeser_rev1@1Kings:16:29 @ And Achab the son of omri became king over Israel in the thirty and eighth year of Assa the king of Judah; and Achab the son of Omri reigned over Israel in Samaria twenty and two years.
sf_leeser_rev1@1Kings:16:30 @ And Achab the son of Omri did what is evil in the eyes of the Lord more than all that had been before him.
sf_leeser_rev1@1Kings:16:31 @ And it came to pass, as if it had been too light a thing for him to walk in the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, that he took for wife Izebel the daughter of Ethbaal the king of the Zidonians, and went and served Baal, and worshipped him.
sf_leeser_rev1@1Kings:16:32 @ And he erected an altar for Baal in the house of Baal, which he had built in Samaria.
sf_leeser_rev1@1Kings:16:33 @ And Achab made a grove; and Achab did yet more, so as to provoke the Lord the God of Israel to anger, than all the kings of Israel that had been before him.
sf_leeser_rev1@1Kings:16:34 @ In his days did Chiel the Bethelite build Jericho: with Abiram his firstborn laid he the foundation thereof, and with Segub his youngest son set he up the gates thereof, according to the word of the Lord, which he had spoken by means of Joshua the son of Nun.
sf_leeser_rev1@1Kings:17:1 @ Then said Elijah the Tishbite, who was of the inhabitants of Gilad, unto Achab, As the Lord the God of Israel liveth, before whom I have stood, there shall not be in these years dew or rain, except according to my word.
