Furthermore ,
when I came to Troas to the gospel of Christ ,
and a door was opened to me by the Lord ,
*
I had no rest in my spirit ,
because I found not Titus my brother :
but taking my leave of them ,
I went from there into Macedonia .
*
Now thanks to God ,
who always causeth us to triumph in Christ ,
and maketh manifest the savour of his knowledge by us in every place .
*
For we are to God a sweet savour of Christ ,
in them that are saved ,
and in them that perish :
*
To the one the savour of death to death ;
and to the other the savour of life to life .
And who sufficient for these things ?
*
For we are not as many ,
who corrupt the word of God :
but as from sincerity ,
but as from God ,
in the sight of God we speak in Christ . (
