Acts:1-3

mkjv@Acts:1:1 @ Truly, O Theophilus, I made the first report as to all things that Jesus began both to do and teach

mkjv@Acts:1:2 @ until the day He was taken up, having given directions to the apostles whom He chose, through [the] Holy Spirit;

mkjv@Acts:1:3 @ to whom He also presented Himself living after His suffering by many infallible proofs, being seen by them through forty days, and speaking of the things pertaining to the kingdom of God.

mkjv@Acts:1:4 @ And having met with [them], He commanded them not to depart from Jerusalem, but to await the promise of the Father which you heard from Me.

mkjv@Acts:1:5 @ For John truly baptized with water, but you shall be baptized in [the] Holy Spirit not many days from now.

mkjv@Acts:1:6 @ Then, indeed, these coming together, they asked Him, saying, Lord, do You at this time restore the kingdom to Israel?

mkjv@Acts:1:7 @ And He said to them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father has put in His own authority.

mkjv@Acts:1:8 @ But you shall receive power, the Holy Spirit coming upon you. And you shall be witnesses to Me both in Jerusalem and in all Judea, and in Samaria, and to [the] end of the earth.

mkjv@Acts:1:9 @ And saying these things, [as] they watched, He was taken up. And a cloud received Him out of their sight.

mkjv@Acts:1:10 @ And while they were looking intently into the heaven, He having gone, even behold, two men in white clothing stood beside them,

mkjv@Acts:1:11 @ who also said, Men of Galilee, why do you stand gazing up into the heaven? This same Jesus who is taken up from you into Heaven, will come in the way you have seen Him going into Heaven.

mkjv@Acts:1:12 @ Then they returned to Jerusalem from [the] mount Of Olive Grove, which is a sabbath day's [journey] from Jerusalem.

mkjv@Acts:1:13 @ And when they had come in, they went up into an upper room, where Peter and James, and John and Andrew, Philip and Thomas, Bartholomew and Matthew, James [the son] of Alpheus and Simon Zelotes, and Judas [the brother] of James;

mkjv@Acts:1:14 @ these all were continuing with one accord in prayer and supplication, with [the] women and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with His brothers.

mkjv@Acts:1:15 @ And in those days Peter stood up in [the] midst of the disciples and said, ( the] number of names together [was] about a hundred and twenty,)

mkjv@Acts:1:16 @ Men, brothers, this Scripture must have been fulfilled, which the Holy Spirit by the mouth of David spoke before concerning Judas, who became guide to those who seized Jesus.

mkjv@Acts:1:17 @ For he was numbered with us and had obtained part of this ministry.

mkjv@Acts:1:18 @ Indeed, then, this one purchased a field with the reward of unrighteousness. And falling headlong, he burst apart in [the] middle, and all his bowels gushed out.

mkjv@Acts:1:19 @ And it was known to all the dwellers at Jerusalem, so much so that that field is called in their own dialect, Akeldama, that is to say, Field of Blood.

mkjv@Acts:1:20 @ For it is written in [the] Book of Psalms, Let his estate become forsaken, and he not be living in it. And, Let another take his overseership.

mkjv@Acts:1:21 @ Therefore, it is right that one of these men who have companied with us all [the] time that the Lord Jesus came in and went out among us,

mkjv@Acts:1:22 @ beginning from the baptism of John to that same day that He was taken up from us, to become a witness with us of His resurrection.

mkjv@Acts:1:23 @ And they appointed two, Joseph called Barsabas, who was surnamed Justus, and Matthias.

mkjv@Acts:1:24 @ And they prayed and said, You, Lord, knower of all hearts, show which one You chose from these two,

mkjv@Acts:1:25 @ to take the share of this ministry and apostleship from which Judas fell, to go to [his] own place.

mkjv@Acts:1:26 @ And they gave forth their lots. And the lot fell upon Matthias. And he was numbered with the eleven apostles.

mkjv@Acts:2:1 @ And in the fulfilling of the day of Pentecost, they were all with one accord in one place.

mkjv@Acts:2:2 @ And suddenly a sound came out of the heaven as borne along by the rushing of a mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.

mkjv@Acts:2:3 @ And tongues as of fire appeared to them, being distributed; and it sat upon each of them.

mkjv@Acts:2:4 @ And they were all filled of the Holy Spirit, and began to speak in other languages, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

mkjv@Acts:2:5 @ And dwelling at Jerusalem there were Jews, devout men out of every nation under heaven.

mkjv@Acts:2:6 @ But this sound occurring, the multitude came together and were confounded, because they each heard them speaking in his own dialect.

mkjv@Acts:2:7 @ And they were all amazed and marveled, saying to one another, Behold, are not these who speak all Galileans?

mkjv@Acts:2:8 @ And how do we each hear in our own dialect in which we were born?

mkjv@Acts:2:9 @ Parthians, and Medes, and Elamites, and the dwellers in Mesopotamia, and in Judea, and Cappadocia, in Pontus, and Asia,

mkjv@Acts:2:10 @ Phrygia, and Pamphylia, in Egypt, and in the parts of Libya around Cyrene, and strangers of Rome, Jews and proselytes,

mkjv@Acts:2:11 @ Cretans and Arabians, we hear them speaking the great things of God in our own languages.

mkjv@Acts:2:12 @ And they were all amazed, and were in doubt, saying to one another, What does this mean?

mkjv@Acts:2:13 @ But others mocking said, These men are full of sweet wine.

mkjv@Acts:2:14 @ But Peter, standing up with the Eleven, lifted up his voice and said to them, Men, Jews, and all who dwell at Jerusalem, let this be known to you, and listen to my words.

mkjv@Acts:2:15 @ For these are not drunk as you suppose, for it is [the] third hour of the day.

mkjv@Acts:2:16 @ But this is that which was spoken by the prophet Joel:

mkjv@Acts:2:17 @ And it shall be in the last days, says God, I will pour out of My Spirit upon all flesh. And your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams.

mkjv@Acts:2:18 @ And in those days I will pour out My Spirit upon My slaves and My slave women, and they shall prophesy.

mkjv@Acts:2:19 @ And I will give wonders in the heaven above, and miracles on the earth below, blood and fire and vapor of smoke.

mkjv@Acts:2:20 @ The sun shall be turned into darkness and the moon into blood, before that great and glorious Day of the Lord.

mkjv@Acts:2:21 @ And it shall be [that] everyone who shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

mkjv@Acts:2:22 @ Men, Israelites, hear these words. Jesus of Nazareth, a man approved of God among you by powerful works, and wonders and miracles, which God did through Him in your midst, as you yourselves also know,

mkjv@Acts:2:23 @ this One given [to you] by the before-determined counsel and foreknowledge of God, [you] have taken and by lawless hands, crucifying [Him], you put Him to death;

mkjv@Acts:2:24 @ whom God raised up, having loosed the pains of death, because it was not possible that He should be held by it.

mkjv@Acts:2:25 @ For David speaks concerning Him, I foresaw the Lord always before me, because He is at my right hand, that I should not be moved.

mkjv@Acts:2:26 @ Therefore my heart rejoiced and my tongue was glad; and also My flesh shall rest in hope,

mkjv@Acts:2:27 @ because You will not leave My soul in Hades, nor will You allow Your holy One to see corruption.

mkjv@Acts:2:28 @ You revealed to Me the ways of life. You will fill Me with joy with Your countenance.

mkjv@Acts:2:29 @ Men, brothers, it is permitted to say to you with plainness as to the patriarch David, that he is both dead and buried, and his tomb is with us to this day.

mkjv@Acts:2:30 @ Therefore being a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him that of [the] fruit of his loins, according to the flesh, He would raise up Christ to sit upon his throne,

mkjv@Acts:2:31 @ seeing this beforehand, he spoke of the resurrection of Christ, that His soul was not left in Hades, nor would His flesh see corruption,

mkjv@Acts:2:32 @ God raised up this Jesus, of which we all are witnesses.

mkjv@Acts:2:33 @ Therefore being exalted to the right of God, and having received from the Father the promise of the Holy Spirit, He has poured out this which you now see and hear.

mkjv@Acts:2:34 @ For David has not ascended into the heavens, but he says himself, The LORD said to my Lord, Sit at My right [hand]

mkjv@Acts:2:35 @ until I place Your enemies [as] a footstool to Your feet.

mkjv@Acts:2:36 @ Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly that God made this same Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord and Christ.

mkjv@Acts:2:37 @ And hearing [this], they were stabbed in the heart, and said to Peter and to the other apostles, Men, brothers, what shall we do?

mkjv@Acts:2:38 @ Then Peter said to them, Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ to remission of sins, and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

mkjv@Acts:2:39 @ For the promise is to you and to your children, and to all those afar off, as many as [the] Lord our God shall call.

mkjv@Acts:2:40 @ And with many other words he earnestly testified and exhorted, saying, Be saved from this perverse generation.

mkjv@Acts:2:41 @ Then those who gladly received his word were baptized. And the same day there were added about three thousand souls.

mkjv@Acts:2:42 @ And they were continuing steadfastly in the apostles' doctrine, and in fellowship and in the breaking of the loaves, and in prayers.

mkjv@Acts:2:43 @ And fear came on every soul. And many wonders and miracles took place through the apostles.

mkjv@Acts:2:44 @ And all who believed were together and had all things common.

mkjv@Acts:2:45 @ And they sold their possessions and goods and distributed them to all, according as anyone had need.

mkjv@Acts:2:46 @ And continuing with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, they shared food with gladness and simplicity of heart,

mkjv@Acts:2:47 @ praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily those who were being saved.

mkjv@Acts:3:1 @ And on the same [day] Peter and John went up into the temple at the hour of prayer, the ninth [hour].

mkjv@Acts:3:2 @ And a certain man, who was lame from his mother's womb, was being carried. And they laid him daily at that temple gate which is called Beautiful, to ask alms from those who entered into the temple.

mkjv@Acts:3:3 @ Seeing Peter and John about to go into the temple, he asked [to receive] alms.

mkjv@Acts:3:4 @ And fastening his eyes on him, Peter with John said, Look on us!

mkjv@Acts:3:5 @ And he paid heed to them, expecting to receive something from them.

mkjv@Acts:3:6 @ But Peter said, Silver and gold have I none, but what I have I give you. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk!

mkjv@Acts:3:7 @ And taking him by the right hand, he lifted [him] up. And immediately his feet and ankle-bones received strength.

mkjv@Acts:3:8 @ And leaping up, he stood and walked and entered with them into the temple, walking and leaping and praising God.

mkjv@Acts:3:9 @ And all the people saw him walking and praising God.

mkjv@Acts:3:10 @ And they recognized him, that it was him who sat for alms at the Beautiful Gate of the temple. And they were filled with wonder and amazement at what had happened to him.

mkjv@Acts:3:11 @ And as the lame one who was healed held Peter and John, all the people ran together to them in the porch that is called Solomon's, greatly wondering.

mkjv@Acts:3:12 @ And seeing [this], Peter answered the people, Men, Israelites, why do you marvel at this? Or why do you stare at us, as [though] we had made this man to walk by our own power or holiness?

mkjv@Acts:3:13 @ The God of Abraham and of Isaac and of Jacob, the God of our fathers, has glorified His son Jesus, whom you delivered up, denying Him in the presence of Pilate, when he had decided to let [Him] go.

mkjv@Acts:3:14 @ But you denied the Holy and Just [One] and desired a murderer to be given to you.

mkjv@Acts:3:15 @ And you killed the Prince of Life, whom God has raised from [the] dead, of which we are witnesses.

mkjv@Acts:3:16 @ And His name, through faith in His name, has made this man strong, this one whom you see and know, His name made firm. And the faith which came through Him has given him this perfect soundness before you.

mkjv@Acts:3:17 @ And now, brothers, I know that you did [it] through ignorance, as also your rulers [did].

mkjv@Acts:3:18 @ But those things which God before had shown by the mouth of all His prophets, [that] Christ should suffer, He fulfilled in this manner.

mkjv@Acts:3:19 @ Therefore repent and convert so that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from [the] presence of the Lord.

mkjv@Acts:3:20 @ And He shall send Jesus Christ, who before was proclaimed to you,

mkjv@Acts:3:21 @ whom Heaven truly needs to receive until the times of restoration of all things, which God has spoken by [the] mouth of His holy prophets since the world began.

mkjv@Acts:3:22 @ For Moses truly said to the fathers, The] Lord your God shall raise up a Prophet to you from your brothers, [One] like me. You shall hear Him in all things, whatever He may say to you.

mkjv@Acts:3:23 @ And it shall be [that] every soul who will not hear that Prophet shall be destroyed from among the people.

mkjv@Acts:3:24 @ And also all the prophets from Samuel and those following after, as many as spoke, have likewise foretold of these days.

mkjv@Acts:3:25 @ You are the sons of the prophets and of the covenant which God made with our fathers, saying to Abraham, And in your Seed shall all the kindreds of the earth be blessed.

mkjv@Acts:3:26 @ Having raised up His son Jesus, God sent Him to you first, to bless you in turning every one of you away from his iniquities.

mkjv@Acts:4:1 @ And [as] they spoke to the people, the priests, and the temple commander, and the Sadducees came on them,
