tcent Ephesians:4:17-5:21

tcent@Ephesians:4:17 @ Now this I affirm and testify in the Lord, that you must no longer live as the Gentiles do, in the futility of their minds,

tcent@Ephesians:4:18 @ they are darkened in their understanding, alienated from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them, due to the hardness of their heart;

tcent@Ephesians:4:19 @ and they, having become callous, have given themselves over to sensuality, greedy for the practice of every kind of impurity.

tcent@Ephesians:4:20 @ But you did not learn Christ in this way,

tcent@Ephesians:4:21 @ assuming that you have heard about him and were taught in him, as the truth is in Jesus.

tcent@Ephesians:4:22 @ You were taught, with regard to your former manner of life, to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful lusts;

tcent@Ephesians:4:23 @ and be renewed in the spirit of your minds,

tcent@Ephesians:4:24 @ and put on the new nature, created after the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness.

tcent@Ephesians:4:25 @ Therefore, laying aside falsehood, each one of you must speak truth with his neighbor, for we are members of one another.

tcent@Ephesians:4:26 @ Be angry, and yet do not sin; do not let the sun go down on your anger,

tcent@Ephesians:4:27 @ and do not give the devil an opportunity.

tcent@Ephesians:4:28 @ He who has been stealing must steal no longer, but rather must labor, doing useful work with his own hands, so that he may have something to share with those in need.

tcent@Ephesians:4:29 @ Let no unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building others up according to the need of the moment, that it may impart grace to those who hear.

tcent@Ephesians:4:30 @ And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, in whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.

tcent@Ephesians:4:31 @ Let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and slander be put away from you, along with all malice.

tcent@Ephesians:4:32 @ Be kind and tenderhearted to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.

tcent@Ephesians:5:1 @ Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children;

tcent@Ephesians:5:2 @ and walk in love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.

tcent@Ephesians:5:3 @ But immorality or any impurity or greed must not even be named among you, as is proper among saints.

tcent@Ephesians:5:4 @ And there must be no filthiness and silly talk, or coarse jesting, which are not fitting, but rather let there be thanksgiving.

tcent@Ephesians:5:5 @ For of this you can be sure, that no immoral, impure, or covetous personsuch a man is an idolaterhas any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God.

tcent@Ephesians:5:6 @ Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of these things the wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience.

tcent@Ephesians:5:7 @ Therefore do not be partners with them;

tcent@Ephesians:5:8 @ for once you were darkness, but now you are light in the Lord; walk as children of light

tcent@Ephesians:5:9 @ (for the fruit of the light consists in all goodness and righteousness and truth),

tcent@Ephesians:5:10 @ and try to learn what is pleasing to the Lord.

tcent@Ephesians:5:11 @ Do not participate in the unfruitful deeds of darkness, but instead expose them.

tcent@Ephesians:5:12 @ For it is a shame even to speak of the things that they do in secret.

tcent@Ephesians:5:13 @ But all things become visible when they are exposed by the light, for everything that becomes visible is light.

tcent@Ephesians:5:14 @ For this reason it is said,

tcent@Ephesians:5:15 @ Be careful, then, how you walk, not as unwise men, but as wise,

tcent@Ephesians:5:16 @ making the most of your time, because the days are evil.

tcent@Ephesians:5:17 @ Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is.

tcent@Ephesians:5:18 @ And do not get drunk with wine, for that is debauchery; but be filled with the Spirit,

tcent@Ephesians:5:19 @ speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody with your heart to the Lord,

tcent@Ephesians:5:20 @ always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

tcent@Ephesians:5:21 @ Be subject to one another out of reverence for Christ.
