rotherham@Exodus:4:1 @ Then responded Moses, and said, And lo! they will not believe me, neither hearken to my voice, for they will say, Yahweh, hath not appeared unto thee.
rotherham@Exodus:4:2 @ And Yahweh said unto him What is this in thy hand? And he said A staff.
rotherham@Exodus:4:3 @ Then said he Cast it to the earth. And he cast it to the earth, and it became a serpent, and Moses fled from the face thereof.
rotherham@Exodus:4:4 @ And Yahweh said unto Moses, Put forth thy hand, and take it by its tail: So he put forth his hand, and laid hold of it, and it became a staff in his hand:
rotherham@Exodus:4:5 @ that they may believe that Yahweh, God of their fathers, God of Abraham, God of Isaac, and God of Jacob hath appeared unto thee.
rotherham@Exodus:4:6 @ Then said Yahweh unto him, yet again Bring, I pray thee, thy hand, into thy bosom. So he brought his hand, into his bosom, and then took it out, and lo! his hand, was leprous, like snow,
rotherham@Exodus:4:7 @ And he said Put back thy hand into thy bosom: So he put back his hand into his bosom, and then took it out of his bosom, and lo it had come again like his own flesh:
rotherham@Exodus:4:8 @ thus shall it come to pass, if they will not believe thee, nor hearken to the voice of the first sign, then will they believe the voice of the next sign;
rotherham@Exodus:4:9 @ and it shall come to pass if they will not believe even these two signs nor hearken to thy voice, then shalt thou take of the water of the river, and pour it out on the dry land, so shall the water which thou hast taken from the river, become, yea it shall become, blood, on the dry land.
rotherham@Exodus:4:10 @ And Moses said unto Yahweh Pardon, O My Lord! not a man of words, am I, neither heretofore, nor since thou hast spoken unto thy servant, for heavy of mouth and heavy of tongue, I am.
rotherham@Exodus:4:11 @ Then Yahweh said unto him Who appointed a mouth for man, or who appointeth him to be dumb, or deaf, or seeing or blind? Is it not I, Yahweh,?
rotherham@Exodus:4:12 @ Now, therefore go, and, I, will be with thy mouth, so will I direct thee, what thou shalt speak.
rotherham@Exodus:4:13 @ And he said Pardon, O My Lord! send, I pray thee by the hand of him whom thou wilt send
rotherham@Exodus:4:14 @ Then was kindled the anger of Yahweh against Moses, and he said Is there not Aaron, thy brother, the Levite? I know that he lean speak. Moreover also lo! he himself is coming forth to meet thee, as surely as he seeth thee, so surely will he rejoice in his heart.
rotherham@Exodus:4:15 @ Then shalt thou speak unto him, and shalt put the words in his mouth, and, I, will be with thy mouth and with his mouth, so will I direct you what ye shall do.
rotherham@Exodus:4:16 @ And, he, shall speak for thee unto the people, so shall it come to pass that he shall become thy mouth, and thou shalt become to him as God.
rotherham@Exodus:4:17 @ And this staff, take thou in thy hand, wherewith thou shalt do the signs.
rotherham@Exodus:4:18 @ So Moses went and returned unto Jethro his father-in-law and said to him Let me go, I pray thee, and return unto my brethren who are in Egypt, that I my see whether they are yet alive. And Jethro said to Moses: Go and prosper.
rotherham@Exodus:4:19 @ Then said Yahweh unto Moses in Midian, Go, return to Egypt, for all the men are dead who were seeking thy life.
rotherham@Exodus:4:20 @ So Moses took his wife and his sons, and caused them to ride upon the ass, and he returned to the land of Egypt, and Moses took the staff of God in his hand.
rotherham@Exodus:4:21 @ And Yahweh said unto Moses, When thou goest to return to Egypt, see as touching all the wonders which I have put in thy hand, that thou do them before Pharaohbut, I, will let his heart wax bold, and he will not suffer the people to go.
rotherham@Exodus:4:22 @ Then shalt thou say unto Pharaoh, Thus, saith Yahweh My sonmy firstborn, is Israel;
rotherham@Exodus:4:23 @ Therefore I say unto thee, Let my son go, that he may serve me, But if thou refuse to let him go, behold, I, am going to slay, thy son, thy firstborn.
rotherham@Exodus:4:24 @ And it came to pass, on the way, in the resting-place for the night, that Yahweh fell upon him, and sought to kill him.
rotherham@Exodus:4:25 @ So Zipporah took a sharp stone and cut off the foreskin of her son, and cast it down at his feet, and said Surely, a bridegroom by rites of blood, art thou to me!
rotherham@Exodus:4:26 @ So he let him go, Then, it was that she said, A bridegroom by rites of bloodwith regard to the rites of circumcision.
rotherham@Exodus:4:27 @ And Yahweh said unto Aaron, Go thy way to meet Moses, towards the desert. So he went his way, and fell in with him in the mountain of God and kissed him.
rotherham@Exodus:4:28 @ And Moses told Aaron, all the words of Yahweh wherewith he had sent him, and all the signs wherewith he had charged him.
rotherham@Exodus:4:29 @ So Moses and Aaron went their way, and gathered together all the elders of the sons of Israel.
rotherham@Exodus:4:30 @ And Aaron spake all the words which Yahweh had spoken unto Moses, and did the signs before the eyes of the people,
rotherham@Exodus:4:31 @ And the people believed, and when they heard that Yahweh had concerned himself for the sons of Israel, and that he had looked upon their humiliation, then bent they their heads and bowed themselves down.
rotherham@Exodus:5:1 @ And afterwards, Moses and Aaron went in and said unto Pharaoh, Thus, saith Yahweh God of Israel, Let my people go, that they may hold a festival to me in the desert.
rotherham@Exodus:5:2 @ Then said Pharaoh, Who is Yahweh that I should hearken to his voice, to let Israel go? I know not Yahweh, and certainly. Israel, will I not let go!
rotherham@Exodus:5:3 @ And they said, the God of the Hebrews, hath met with us, let us go, we pray thee, a journey of three days into the desert and sacrifice to Yahweh our God, lest he fall upon us with pestilence or with sword.
rotherham@Exodus:5:4 @ And the king of Egypt said unto them, Wherefore O Moses and Aaron should ye loose the people from their works? Get you to your burdens.
rotherham@Exodus:5:5 @ And Pharaoh said, Lo! manynow, are the people of the land, and are ye to make them rest from their burdens?
rotherham@Exodus:5:6 @ So then Pharaoh gave command on that day, unto the taskmasters over the people and unto their overseerssaying:
rotherham@Exodus:5:7 @ Ye shall no more give straw unto the people, for making the bricks as heretofore: Let them, go, themselves, so shall they gather for themselves straw:
rotherham@Exodus:5:8 @ Nevertheless, the fixed number of bricks, which they have been making heretofore, shall ye lay upon them, ye shall not diminish therefrom, for idle, they are, on this account, it is that they are making an outcry, saying, We must go our way, we must sacrifice to our God.
rotherham@Exodus:5:9 @ The service must be made heavy on the men that they may labour on it, and let them not pay regard to words of falsehood.
rotherham@Exodus:5:10 @ Then went forth the taskmasters of the people and their overseers, and spake unto the people, saying, Thus, saith Pharaoh, I am not going to give you straw,
rotherham@Exodus:5:11 @ Ye yourselves go fetch you straw, of any ye can find, yet hath there not been diminished from your service a single thing.
rotherham@Exodus:5:12 @ So the people dispersed themselves throughout all the land of Egypt, to gather stubble for straw:
rotherham@Exodus:5:13 @ the taskmasters, meanwhile, being urgent saying, Complete your works, The task of a day, in its day, as when the straw was provided.
rotherham@Exodus:5:14 @ Then were beaten the overseers of the sons of Israel, whom the taskmasters of Pharaoh had set over them saying: Wherefore have ye not completed your task for making bricks, as heretofore, so also, yesterday and, to-day?
rotherham@Exodus:5:15 @ Then came in the overseers of the sons of Israel, and made outcry unto Pharaoh, saying, Wherefore shouldst thou do thus to thy servants?
rotherham@Exodus:5:16 @ No straw, is given to thy servants, yet bricks, they keep saying to usmake ye! And lo, thy servants, are beatenthou dost, therefore, wrong thy people.
rotherham@Exodus:5:17 @ But he said: Idle, ye areidle, on this account, are, ye, saying, We must take our journey, we must sacrifice to Yahweh.
rotherham@Exodus:5:18 @ Now, therefore, go labour, but, straw, shall not be given you, yet the tale of bricks, shall ye render.
rotherham@Exodus:5:19 @ Then did the overseers of the sons of Israel see themselves to be in an evil case, when it was said, Ye shall not diminish from your bricksthe task of a day, in its day
rotherham@Exodus:5:20 @ So they fell upon Moses and upon Aaron, stationing themselves to meet them, as they came forth from Pharaoh;
rotherham@Exodus:5:21 @ and they said unto them, Yahweh look upon you and judge, in that ye have made us odious in the eyes of Pharaoh and in the eyes of his servants, putting a sword into their hand to slay us.
rotherham@Exodus:5:22 @ And Moses returned unto Yahweh and said, O My Lord wherefore hast thou caused harm to this people? Wherefore now didst thou send me?
rotherham@Exodus:5:23 @ seeing that from what time I came in unto Pharaoh to speak in thy name, he hath done harm to this people, and thou hast not delivered, thy people,
rotherham@Exodus:6:1 @ Then said Yahweh unto Moses, Now, shalt thou see, what I will do to Pharaoh, for with a strong hand, shall he let them go, and with a strong hand, shall he drive them out from his land.
rotherham@Exodus:6:2 @ And Gods spake unto Moses, and said unto him, I, am Yahweh:
rotherham@Exodus:6:3 @ I appeared, therefore, unto Abraham unto Isaac, and unto Jacob, as GOD Almighty, although, by my name Yahweh was I not made known to them;
rotherham@Exodus:6:4 @ Moreover also I established my covenant with them, to give them the land of Canaan, even the land of their sojournings wherein they sojourned.
rotherham@Exodus:6:5 @ Moreover also, I heard the groaning of the sons of Israel, whom the Egyptians, were holding in servitude, So then I remembered my covenant.
rotherham@Exodus:6:6 @ Therefore say thou to the sons of Israel-I, am Yahweh, Therefore will I bring you forth from under the burdens of Egypt, And will deliver you out of their service, And will redeem you with a stretched-out arm, and with great judgments;
rotherham@Exodus:6:7 @ And will take you to myself for a people, And will become your God, And ye shall know that, I Yahweh, am your God, who brought you forth from under the burdens of Egypt:
rotherham@Exodus:6:8 @ And I will bring you into the land as to which I uplifted my hand to give it to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, and will give it to you as an inheritance: I, am Yahweh.
rotherham@Exodus:6:9 @ And Moses spake thus unto the sons of Israel, but they hearkened not unto Moses, through shortness of spirit, and through hard service.
rotherham@Exodus:6:10 @ And Yahweh spake unto Moses saying:
rotherham@Exodus:6:11 @ Go in speak unto Pharaoh king of Egypt, that he let the sons of Israel go out of his land.
rotherham@Exodus:6:12 @ And Moses spake before Yahweh, saying, Lo! the sons of Israel have not hearkened unto me, how then shall Pharaoh, hear, I, also being of uncircumcised lips.
rotherham@Exodus:6:13 @ Thus then did Yahweh speak unto Moses and unto Aaron, yea he gave them a charge unto the sons of Israel, and unto Pharaoh king of Egypt, for the bringing forth of the sons of Israel out of the land of Egypt.
rotherham@Exodus:6:14 @ These, are the heads of their ancestral house: The sons of Reuben the first-born of Israel, Hanoch and Pallu, Hezron and Carmi. These are the families of, Reuben.
rotherham@Exodus:6:15 @ And, the sons of Simeon, Jemuel and Jamin and Ohad and Jachin and Zohar, and Shaul the son of a Canaanitess. These, are the families of, Simeon.
rotherham@Exodus:6:16 @ And, these, are the names of the sons of Levi by their generations, Gershon, and Kohath and Merari, And, the years of the life of Levi, were a hundred and thirty-seven years.
rotherham@Exodus:6:17 @ The sons of Gershon, Libni and Shimei by their families.
rotherham@Exodus:6:18 @ And the sons of Kohath, Amram and Izhar, and Hebron and Uzziel. And the years of the life of Kohath, were a hundred and thirty-three years.
rotherham@Exodus:6:19 @ And the sons of Merari, Mahli and Mushi. These, are the families of the Levites by their generations.
rotherham@Exodus:6:20 @ So then, Amram took Jochebed, his fathers sister to himself to wife, and she bare to him Aaron and Moses. And, the years of the life of Amram, were a hundred and thirty-seven.
rotherham@Exodus:6:21 @ And the sons of Izhar, Korah and Nepheg, and Zichri.
rotherham@Exodus:6:22 @ And the sons of Uzziel, Mishael and Elzaphan, and Sithri.
rotherham@Exodus:6:23 @ And Aaron took Elisheba, daughter of Amminadab, sister of Nahshon, to himself to wife, and she bare to him Nadab, and Abihu, Eleazar, and Ithamar.
rotherham@Exodus:6:24 @ And the sons of Korah, Assir and Elkanah, and Abiasaph. These are the families of the Korahites.
rotherham@Exodus:6:25 @ And Eleazar, son of Aaron took to himself of the daughters of Putiel, to himself to wife, and she bare to him Phinehas. These, are the heads of the fathers of the Levites by their families.
rotherham@Exodus:6:26 @ The same, Aaron and Moses, to whom said Yahweh, Bring ye forth the sons of Israel out of the land of Egypt, according to their hosts:
rotherham@Exodus:6:27 @ They who were to speak unto Pharaoh king of Egypt, to bring forth the sons of Israel out of Egypt: The same, Moses and Aaron.
rotherham@Exodus:6:28 @ Thus came it to pass, that on a certain day, Yahweh spake unto Moses in the land of Egypt.
rotherham@Exodus:6:29 @ So then Yahweh spake unto Moses, saying I, am Yahweh: Speak thou unto Pharaoh king of Egypt, all that, I, am speaking unto thee.
rotherham@Exodus:6:30 @ And Moses said before Yahweh, Lo! I, am of uncircumcised lips, how then will Pharaoh hearken unto me?
rotherham@Exodus:7:1 @ Then said Yahweh unto Moses See! I have appointed thee to be God unto Pharaoh, and, Aaron thy brother, shall be thy prophet!
