Genesis:27:6-29

sf_leeser_rev1@Genesis:27:6 @ And Rebekah spoke unto Jacob her son, saying, Behold, I heard thy father speak unto Esau thy brother, saying,

sf_leeser_rev1@Genesis:27:7 @ Bring me venison, and make me savory food, that I may eat and bless thee before the Lord before my death.

sf_leeser_rev1@Genesis:27:8 @ And now, my son, obey my voice in that which I command thee.

sf_leeser_rev1@Genesis:27:9 @ Go, I pray thee, to the flock, and fetch me from there two good kids; and I will make them savory food for thy father, such as he loveth:

sf_leeser_rev1@Genesis:27:10 @ And thou shalt bring it to thy father, that he may eat; for the sake that he may bless thee before his death.

sf_leeser_rev1@Genesis:27:11 @ And Jacob said to Rebekah his mother, Behold, Esau my brother is a hairy man, and I am a smooth man:

sf_leeser_rev1@Genesis:27:12 @ Peradventure my father will feel me, and I shall then seem to him as a deceiver; and I would bring upon me a curse, and not a blessing.

sf_leeser_rev1@Genesis:27:13 @ And his mother said unto him, Upon me be thy curse, my son; only obey my voice, and go fetch them to me.

sf_leeser_rev1@Genesis:27:14 @ And he went, and fetched, and brought them to his mother: and his mother made savory food, such as his father loved.

sf_leeser_rev1@Genesis:27:15 @ And Rebekah took the goodly garments of her eldest son Esau, which were with her in the house, and clothed therewith Jacob her younger son;

sf_leeser_rev1@Genesis:27:16 @ And the skins of the kids she put upon his hands, and upon the smooth part of his neck;

sf_leeser_rev1@Genesis:27:17 @ And she gave the savory food and bread, which she had prepared, into the hand of Jacob her son.

sf_leeser_rev1@Genesis:27:18 @ And he came unto his father, and said, My father: and he said, Here am I; who art thou my son?

sf_leeser_rev1@Genesis:27:19 @ And Jacob said unto his father, I am Esau thy first–born; I have done as thou didst speak to me: arise I pray thee, sit here and eat of my venison, that thy soul may bless me.

sf_leeser_rev1@Genesis:27:20 @ And Isaac said unto his son, How is it that thou hast found it so quickly, my son? And he said, Because the Lord thy God brought it before me.

sf_leeser_rev1@Genesis:27:21 @ And Isaac said unto Jacob, Come near, I pray thee, that I may feel thee, my son, whether thou be truly my son Esau or not.

sf_leeser_rev1@Genesis:27:22 @ And Jacob went near unto Isaac his father, and he felt him; and he said, The voice is the voice of Jacob, but the hands are the hands of Esau.

sf_leeser_rev1@Genesis:27:23 @ And he recognized him not, because his hands were hairy, as his brother Esau’s hands: so he blessed him.

sf_leeser_rev1@Genesis:27:24 @ And he said, Art thou indeed my son Esau? and he said I am.

sf_leeser_rev1@Genesis:27:25 @ And he said, Bring it near to me, and I will eat of my son’s venison, that my soul may bless thee. And he brought it near to him, and he did eat, and he brought him wine, and he drank.

sf_leeser_rev1@Genesis:27:26 @ And Isaac his father said unto him, Come near, I pray thee, and kiss me, my son.

sf_leeser_rev1@Genesis:27:27 @ And he came near, and kissed him: and he smelled the smell of his garments and blessed him, and said, See, the smell of my son is the smell of the field which the Lord hath blessed.

sf_leeser_rev1@Genesis:27:28 @ And may God give thee of the dew of heaven, and the fatness of the earth, and plenty of corn and wine;

sf_leeser_rev1@Genesis:27:29 @ Nations shall serve thee, and people bow down to thee; be lord over thy brethren, and thy mother’s sons shall bow down to thee; cursed be they that curse thee, and blessed be they that bless thee.
