nkjv@Hosea:1:2 @ When the LORD began to speak by Hosea, the LORD said to Hosea: "Go, take yourself a wife of harlotry And children of harlotry, For the land has committed great harlotry By departing from the LORD."
nkjv@Hosea:1:3 @ So he went and took Gomer the daughter of Diblaim, and she conceived and bore him a son.
nkjv@Hosea:1:4 @ Then the LORD said to him: "Call his name Jezreel, For in a little while I will avenge the bloodshed of Jezreel on the house of Jehu, And bring an end to the kingdom of the house of Israel.
nkjv@Hosea:1:5 @ It shall come to pass in that day That I will break the bow of Israel in the Valley of Jezreel."
nkjv@Hosea:1:6 @ And she conceived again and bore a daughter. Then God said to him: "Call her name Lo-Ruhamah, For I will no longer have mercy on the house of Israel, But I will utterly take them away.
nkjv@Hosea:1:7 @ Yet I will have mercy on the house of Judah, Will save them by the LORD their God, And will not save them by bow, Nor by sword or battle, By horses or horsemen."

nkjv@Hosea:1:9 @ Then God said: "Call his name Lo-Ammi, For you are not My people, And I will not be your God.
nkjv@Hosea:1:10 @ "Yet the number of the children of Israel Shall be as the sand of the sea, Which cannot be measured or numbered. And it shall come to pass In the place where it was said to them, "You are not My people,' There it shall be said to them, "You are sons of the living God.'
nkjv@Hosea:1:11 @ Then the children of Judah and the children of Israel Shall be gathered together, And appoint for themselves one head; And they shall come up out of the land, For great will be the day of Jezreel!
nkjv@Hosea:10:1 @ Israel empties his vine; He brings forth fruit for himself. According to the multitude of his fruit He has increased the altars; According to the bounty of his land They have embellished his sacred pillars.
nkjv@Hosea:10:2 @ Their heart is divided; Now they are held guilty. He will break down their altars; He will ruin their sacred pillars.
nkjv@Hosea:10:3 @ For now they say, "We have no king, Because we did not fear the LORD. And as for a king, what would he do for us?"
nkjv@Hosea:10:4 @ They have spoken words, Swearing falsely in making a covenant. Thus judgment springs up like hemlock in the furrows of the field.
nkjv@Hosea:10:5 @ The inhabitants of Samaria fear Because of the calf of Beth Aven. For its people mourn for it, And its priests shriek for it-- Because its glory has departed from it.
nkjv@Hosea:10:6 @ The idol also shall be carried to Assyria As a present for King Jareb. Ephraim shall receive shame, And Israel shall be ashamed of his own counsel.
nkjv@Hosea:10:7 @ As for Samaria, her king is cut off Like a twig on the water.
nkjv@Hosea:10:8 @ Also the high places of Aven, the sin of Israel, Shall be destroyed. The thorn and thistle shall grow on their altars; They shall say to the mountains, "Cover us!" And to the hills, "Fall on us!"
nkjv@Hosea:10:9 @ "O Israel, you have sinned from the days of Gibeah; There they stood. The battle in Gibeah against the children of iniquity Did not overtake them.
nkjv@Hosea:10:10 @ When it is My desire, I will chasten them. Peoples shall be gathered against them When I bind them for their two transgressions.
nkjv@Hosea:10:11 @ Ephraim is a trained heifer That loves to thresh grain; But I harnessed her fair neck, I will make Ephraim pull a plow. Judah shall plow; Jacob shall break his clods."
nkjv@Hosea:10:12 @ Sow for yourselves righteousness; Reap in mercy; Break up your fallow ground, For it is time to seek the LORD, Till He comes and rains righteousness on you.
nkjv@Hosea:10:13 @ You have plowed wickedness; You have reaped iniquity. You have eaten the fruit of lies, Because you trusted in your own way, In the multitude of your mighty men.
nkjv@Hosea:10:14 @ Therefore tumult shall arise among your people, And all your fortresses shall be plundered As Shalman plundered Beth Arbel in the day of battle-- A mother dashed in pieces upon her children.
nkjv@Hosea:10:15 @ Thus it shall be done to you, O Bethel, Because of your great wickedness. At dawn the king of Israel Shall be cut off utterly.

nkjv@Hosea:11:2 @ As they called them, So they went from them; They sacrificed to the Baals, And burned incense to carved images.
nkjv@Hosea:11:3 @ "I taught Ephraim to walk, Taking them by their arms; But they did not know that I healed them.
nkjv@Hosea:11:4 @ I drew them with gentle cords, With bands of love, And I was to them as those who take the yoke from their neck. I stooped and fed them.
nkjv@Hosea:11:5 @ "He shall not return to the land of Egypt; But the Assyrian shall be his king, Because they refused to repent.
nkjv@Hosea:11:6 @ And the sword shall slash in his cities, Devour his districts, And consume them, Because of their own counsels.
nkjv@Hosea:11:7 @ My people are bent on backsliding from Me. Though they call to the Most High, None at all exalt Him.
nkjv@Hosea:11:8 @ "How can I give you up, Ephraim? How can I hand you over, Israel? How can I make you like Admah? How can I set you like Zeboiim? My heart churns within Me; My sympathy is stirred.
nkjv@Hosea:11:9 @ I will not execute the fierceness of My anger; I will not again destroy Ephraim. For I am God, and not man, The Holy One in your midst; And I will not come with terror.
nkjv@Hosea:11:10 @ "They shall walk after the LORD. He will roar like a lion. When He roars, Then His sons shall come trembling from the west;
nkjv@Hosea:11:11 @ They shall come trembling like a bird from Egypt, Like a dove from the land of Assyria. And I will let them dwell in their houses," Says the LORD.
nkjv@Hosea:11:12 @ "Ephraim has encircled Me with lies, And the house of Israel with deceit; But Judah still walks with God, Even with the Holy One who is faithful.
nkjv@Hosea:12:1 @ "Ephraim feeds on the wind, And pursues the east wind; He daily increases lies and desolation. Also they make a covenant with the Assyrians, And oil is carried to Egypt.
nkjv@Hosea:12:2 @ "The LORD also brings a charge against Judah, And will punish Jacob according to his ways; According to his deeds He will recompense him.

nkjv@Hosea:12:4 @ Yes, he struggled with the Angel and prevailed; He wept, and sought favor from Him. He found Him in Bethel, And there He spoke to us--

nkjv@Hosea:12:8 @ And Ephraim said, "Surely I have become rich, I have found wealth for myself; In all my labors They shall find in me no iniquity that is sin.'
nkjv@Hosea:12:9 @ "But I am the LORD your God, Ever since the land of Egypt; I will again make you dwell in tents, As in the days of the appointed feast.
nkjv@Hosea:12:10 @ I have also spoken by the prophets, And have multiplied visions; I have given symbols through the witness of the prophets."
nkjv@Hosea:12:11 @ Though Gilead has idols-- Surely they are vanity-- Though they sacrifice bulls in Gilgal, Indeed their altars shall be heaps in the furrows of the field.

nkjv@Hosea:13:2 @ Now they sin more and more, And have made for themselves molded images, Idols of their silver, according to their skill; All of it is the work of craftsmen. They say of them, "Let the men who sacrifice kiss the calves!"

nkjv@Hosea:13:6 @ When they had pasture, they were filled; They were filled and their heart was exalted; Therefore they forgot Me.
nkjv@Hosea:13:7 @ "So I will be to them like a lion; Like a leopard by the road I will lurk;
nkjv@Hosea:13:8 @ I will meet them like a bear deprived of her cubs; I will tear open their rib cage, And there I will devour them like a lion. The wild beast shall tear them.

nkjv@Hosea:13:10 @ I will be your King; Where is any other, That he may save you in all your cities? And your judges to whom you said, "Give me a king and princes'?

nkjv@Hosea:13:12 @ "The iniquity of Ephraim is bound up; His sin is stored up.
nkjv@Hosea:13:13 @ The sorrows of a woman in childbirth shall come upon him. He is an unwise son, For he should not stay long where children are born.
nkjv@Hosea:13:14 @ "I will ransom them from the power of the grave; I will redeem them from death. O Death, I will be your plagues! O Grave, I will be your destruction! Pity is hidden from My eyes."
nkjv@Hosea:13:15 @ Though he is fruitful among his brethren, An east wind shall come; The wind of the LORD shall come up from the wilderness. Then his spring shall become dry, And his fountain shall be dried up. He shall plunder the treasury of every desirable prize.
nkjv@Hosea:13:16 @ Samaria is held guilty, For she has rebelled against her God. They shall fall by the sword, Their infants shall be dashed in pieces, And their women with child ripped open.

nkjv@Hosea:14:2 @ Take words with you, And return to the LORD. Say to Him, "Take away all iniquity; Receive us graciously, For we will offer the sacrifices of our lips.
nkjv@Hosea:14:3 @ Assyria shall not save us, We will not ride on horses, Nor will we say anymore to the work of our hands, "You are our gods.' For in You the fatherless finds mercy."
nkjv@Hosea:14:4 @ "I will heal their backsliding, I will love them freely, For My anger has turned away from him.
nkjv@Hosea:14:5 @ I will be like the dew to Israel; He shall grow like the lily, And lengthen his roots like Lebanon.
nkjv@Hosea:14:6 @ His branches shall spread; His beauty shall be like an olive tree, And his fragrance like Lebanon.
nkjv@Hosea:14:7 @ Those who dwell under his shadow shall return; They shall be revived like grain, And grow like a vine. Their scent shall be like the wine of Lebanon.
nkjv@Hosea:14:8 @ "Ephraim shall say, "What have I to do anymore with idols?' I have heard and observed him. I am like a green cypress tree; Your fruit is found in Me."
nkjv@Hosea:14:9 @ Who is wise? Let him understand these things. Who is prudent? Let him know them. For the ways of the LORD are right; The righteous walk in them, But transgressors stumble in them.
