gltv@Jeremiah:18:1 @ The word which was to from Jehovah, saying,
gltv@Jeremiah:18:2 @ Rise up and go down to the potter's house, and there I will cause you to hear My words.
gltv@Jeremiah:18:3 @ Then I went down to the potter's house, and behold, he was working a work on the wheel.
gltv@Jeremiah:18:4 @ And the vessel that he made in clay was ruined in the hand of the potter. So repeating he made it, another vessel, as it seemed good in the potter's eyes to make it.
gltv@Jeremiah:18:5 @ And the word of Jehovah was to me, saying,
gltv@Jeremiah:18:6 @ O house of Israel, can I not do to you as this potter? says Jehovah Behold, as the clay in the potter's hand, so are you in My hand, O house of Israel.
gltv@Jeremiah:18:7 @ The instant I speak concerning a nation, and concerning a kingdom, to pluck up, or to break down, or to destroy;
gltv@Jeremiah:18:8 @ if that nation against whom I have spoken will turn from their evil, I will repent of the evil that I thought to do to it.
gltv@Jeremiah:18:9 @ And the instant I speak concerning a nation, and concerning a kingdom, to build and to plant it;
gltv@Jeremiah:18:10 @ if it does evil in My eye, not to obey My voice, then I will repent of the good which I had said to do good to it.
gltv@Jeremiah:18:11 @ Now then, please speak to the men of Judah and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem, saying, So says Jehovah, Behold, I am forming evil against you, and devising a plan against you. Now each one turn from his evil way, and make your ways and your doings good.
gltv@Jeremiah:18:12 @ And they say, It is hopeless. For we will walk after our own thoughts, and we will each one do according to the stubbornness of his evil heart.
gltv@Jeremiah:18:13 @ So Jehovah says this: Ask now among the nations, Who has heard things like these? The virgin of Israel has done a very horrible thing.
gltv@Jeremiah:18:14 @ Does the snow of Lebanon cease from the rock of the field? Or are the cold flowing waters that come from another place uprooted?
gltv@Jeremiah:18:15 @ But My people have forgotten Me. They have burned incense to vain idols; and they have caused them to stumble in their ways, from the old paths, to walk in bypaths, not on the highway;
gltv@Jeremiah:18:16 @ to make their land a desolation, a hissing forever. Everyone who passes by will be amazed and will shake his head.
gltv@Jeremiah:18:17 @ I will scatter them like an east wind before the enemy; I will show them the back, and not the face in the day of their calamity.
gltv@Jeremiah:18:18 @ Then they said, Come and let us plot schemes against Jeremiah. For the law shall not perish from the priest, nor counsel from the wise, nor word from the prophet. Come and let us strike him with the tongue, and let us not listen to any of his words.
gltv@Jeremiah:18:19 @ O Jehovah, pay attention to me, and pay attention to the voice of my foes.
gltv@Jeremiah:18:20 @ Should evil be repaid for good? For they have dug a pit for my soul. Remember, I stood before You to speak good concerning them, to turn Your wrath from them.
gltv@Jeremiah:18:21 @ So give their sons to the famine, and give them over to the hand of the sword. And let their wives be bereaved, and be widows, and let their men be the slain of death, their young men those struck by the sword in battle.
gltv@Jeremiah:18:22 @ Let a cry be heard from their houses when You suddenly bring a raiding party on them. For they have dug a pit to seize me, and have hidden snares for my feet.
gltv@Jeremiah:18:23 @ Yet, O Jehovah, You know all their counsel to death against me. Do not atone for their iniquity, nor blot out their sin from Your face, but let them be those made to stumble before You; deal with them in the time of Your anger.
gltv@Jeremiah:19:1 @ So says Jehovah, Go and buy a potter's earthen jar, and gather from the elders of the people, and from the elders of the priests.
gltv@Jeremiah:19:2 @ And go out to the valley of the son of Hinnom by the entry of Potsherd Gate. And there declare the words that I will speak to you.
gltv@Jeremiah:19:3 @ And say, Hear the word of Jehovah, O kings of Judah, and inhabitants of Jerusalem. So says Jehovah of hosts, the God of Israel: Behold, I will bring evil on this place by which all who hear it will have tingling ears.
gltv@Jeremiah:19:4 @ Because they have forsaken Me, and have made this place known, and have burned incense in it to other gods whom neither they nor their fathers have known, nor the kings of Judah, and have filled this place with the blood of innocents.
gltv@Jeremiah:19:5 @ They have also built the high places of Baal, to burn their sons with fire for burnt offerings to Baal, which I never commanded nor spoke, nor did it come into My heart.
gltv@Jeremiah:19:6 @ So, behold, the days come, says Jehovah, that this place shall be no more called Tophet, or the valley of the son of Hinnom, but Valley of Slaughter.
gltv@Jeremiah:19:7 @ And I will make the counsel of Judah and Jerusalem come to nothing in this place. And I will cause them to fall by the sword before their enemies, and by the hand of those who seek their life. And I will give their dead bodies for food to the birds of the heavens, and for the animals of the earth.
gltv@Jeremiah:19:8 @ And I will make this city a waste and a hissing. Everyone who passes by shall be amazed and shall hiss because of all its plagues.
gltv@Jeremiah:19:9 @ And I will cause them to eat the flesh of their sons and the flesh of their daughters. And they shall each one eat the flesh of his friend in the siege and distress with which their enemies and those who seek their life shall distress them.
gltv@Jeremiah:19:10 @ And you shall break the jar before the eyes of the men who go with you,
gltv@Jeremiah:19:11 @ and shall say to them, So says Jehovah of Hosts, Even so I will break this people and this city, as one breaks the potter's vessel that cannot be restored again. And they shall bury in Tophet, since no place is left to bury.
gltv@Jeremiah:19:12 @ I will do this to this place, says Jehovah, and to its inhabitants, and make this place as Tophet.
gltv@Jeremiah:19:13 @ And the houses of Jerusalem and the houses of the kings of Judah shall be defiled as the place of Tophet, because of all the roofs of the houses on which they have burned incense to all the host of the heavens, and have poured out drink offerings to other gods.
gltv@Jeremiah:19:14 @ Then came from Tophet, where Jehovah had sent him there to prophesy. And he stood in the court of the house of Jehovah, and he said to all the people,
gltv@Jeremiah:19:15 @ So says Jehovah of hosts, the God of Israel: Behold, I will bring to this city, and on all its towns, all the evil that I have spoken against it, because they have stiffened their necks in order not to hear My words.
