John:1:19-28
rkjnt@John:1:19 @ And this is the witness of John, when the Jews sent priests and Levites from Jerusalem to ask him, Who are you?
rkjnt@John:1:20 @ And he confessed, and did not deny; but confessed, I am not the Christ.
rkjnt@John:1:21 @ And they asked him, What then? Are you Elijah? And he said, I am not. Are you the prophet? And he answered, No.
rkjnt@John:1:22 @ Then they said to him, Who are you? that we may give an answer to those who sent us. What do you say about yourself?
rkjnt@John:1:23 @ He said, I am the voice of one crying out in the wilderness, Make straight the way of the Lord, as the prophet Isaiah said.

rkjnt@John:1:25 @ And they asked him, Why do you baptize then, if you are not the Christ, or Elijah, or the prophet?
rkjnt@John:1:26 @ John answered them, saying, I baptize with water: but one stands among you, whom you do not know;
rkjnt@John:1:27 @ It is he who comes after me, the thong of whose sandal I am not worthy to untie.
rkjnt@John:1:28 @ These things took place in Bethany, beyond the Jordan, where John was baptizing.
