John:20:19-23

In the evening of that day ,
the first day of the week ,
when the doors had been closed where the disciples were ,
for fear of the Jews ,
Jesus came and stood in the midst and said to them ,
*
When he had said this ,
he showed them his hands and his side .
The disciples were filled with joy on seeing the Master .

He said to them again ,
*
When he had said this ,
he breathed on them and said ,

Thomas ,
one of the twelve ,
called Didymus (

the Twin (:
note ),
was not with them when Jesus came .
*
The other disciples said to him , "
We have seen the Master ."
But he said to them , "
Unless I see in his hands the print of the nails and put my finger into the print of the nails and put my hand into his side ,
I will not believe it ."

After eight days the disciples were again within and Thomas was with them .
Jesus came and stood in the midst and said ,
*
Then he said to Thomas ,
*
Thomas answered him , "
My Lord and my God !"
*
Jesus said to him ,
*
Jesus did before the disciples many other signs which are not written in this book .
*
But these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ ,
the Son of God ,
and that believing you may have life through his name .
