Luke:4:1-13




rkjnt@Luke:4:1 @ And Jesus, being full of the Holy Spirit, returned from the Jordan and was led by the Spirit in the wilderness,

rkjnt@Luke:4:2 @ For forty days, while tempted by the devil. And during those days he ate nothing: and when they had ended, he was hungry.

rkjnt@Luke:4:3 @ And the devil said to him, If you are the Son of God, command this stone to become bread.

rkjnt@Luke:4:4 @ And Jesus answered him, It is written, Man shall not live on bread alone.

rkjnt@Luke:4:5 @ And the devil, taking him up to a high mountain, showed him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time.

rkjnt@Luke:4:6 @ And the devil said to him, I will give you all this power and its glory: for it has been delivered to me; and I give it to whomever I will.

rkjnt@Luke:4:7 @ Therefore if you will worship me, it shall all be yours.

rkjnt@Luke:4:8 @ Jesus answered him, It is written, You shall worship the Lord your God, and him only shall you serve.

rkjnt@Luke:4:9 @ And he brought him to Jerusalem, and set him on a pinnacle of the temple, and said to him, If you are the Son of God, throw yourself down from here:

rkjnt@Luke:4:10 @ For it is written, He shall give his angels charge over you, to keep you:

rkjnt@Luke:4:11 @ And in their hands they shall bear you up, lest you strike your foot against a stone.

rkjnt@Luke:4:12 @ And Jesus answered and said to him, It is said, You shall not tempt the Lord your God.

rkjnt@Luke:4:13 @ And when the devil had ended all the temptation, he departed from him until an opportune time.
