And he went afterward to a city called Nain ,
and many of his disciples went with him and a great multitude .
*
And as he drew nigh the gate of the city ,
behold a dead man was carried out ,
the only son of his mother ,
and she was a widow ;
and a great multitude of the city was with her .
*
And the Lord seeing her ,
was moved with tender compassion for her ,
and said ,
Weep not .
*
And he came and touched the bier ,
and the bearers stood still .
And he said ,
Young man ,
I say to thee ,
Arise .
*
And the dead man sat up ,
and began to speak :
and he delivered him to his mother .
*
And fear seized all ,
and they glorified God ,
saying ,
A great prophet is risen up among us ;
and ,
God hath visited his people .
