Luke:8:1-21

wesleynt@Luke:8:1 @ And afterward he went through every city and village preaching and publishing the glad tidings of the kingdom of God; and the twelve were with him.

wesleynt@Luke:8:2 @ And certain women who had been healed of evil spirits and infirmities, Mary called Magdalene, out of whom had gone seven devils,

wesleynt@Luke:8:3 @ And Joanna, the wife of Chuza, Herod's steward, and Susanna, and many others, who ministered to him of their substance.

wesleynt@Luke:8:4 @ And much people being gathered together, coming to him out of every city, he spake by a parable, A sower went forth to sow his seed:

wesleynt@Luke:8:5 @ and while he sowed, some fell by the way-side; and it was trodden down, and the birds of the air devoured it.

wesleynt@Luke:8:6 @ And some fell upon a rock, and springing up, it withered away, because it lacked moisture.

wesleynt@Luke:8:7 @ And some fell among thorns, and the thorns sprang up with it, and choked it.

wesleynt@Luke:8:8 @ And other fell on good ground, and sprang up, and bare fruit an hundred fold. And saying these things, he cried, He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.

wesleynt@Luke:8:9 @ And his disciples asked him, What is this parable?

wesleynt@Luke:8:10 @ And he said, To you it is given to know the mysteries of the kingdom of God, but to others in parables, so that seeing they do not see, and hearing they do not understand.

wesleynt@Luke:8:11 @ Now the parable is this: the seed is the word of God.

wesleynt@Luke:8:12 @ Those by the way-side are they that hear; then cometh the devil and taketh away the word out of their hearts, lest they should believe and be saved.

wesleynt@Luke:8:13 @ Those on the rock are they, who, when they hear, receive the word with joy. But they have no root, who for a while believe; but in time of temptation fall away.

wesleynt@Luke:8:14 @ That which fell among thorns are they, who, having heard, go forth, and are choked with cares, and riches, and pleasures of this life, and bring no fruit to perfection.

wesleynt@Luke:8:15 @ But that on the good ground are they, who, having heard the word, keep it in an honest and good heart, and bring forth fruit with perseverance.

wesleynt@Luke:8:16 @ No man having lighted a candle, covereth it with a vessel, or putteth it under a bed; but setteth it on a candlestick, that they who come in may see the light.

wesleynt@Luke:8:17 @ For there is nothing hid that shall not be discovered, neither any thing concealed, that shall not be known and come to light.

wesleynt@Luke:8:18 @ Take heed therefore how ye hear; for whosoever hath, to him shall be given; and whosoever hath not, from him shall be taken away even what he hath.

wesleynt@Luke:8:19 @ Then came toward him his mother and his brethren, but could not come to him for the croud.

wesleynt@Luke:8:20 @ And it was told him by some who said, Thy mother and thy brethren stand without, desiring to see thee.

wesleynt@Luke:8:21 @ And he answering said to them, My mother and my brethren are these who hear the word of God and keep it.
