Mark:10:1-12

And he arose from there ,
and went into the region of Judaea on the farther side of the Jordan :
and the people came to him again ;
and ,
as was his custom ,
he taught them .
*
And the Pharisees came to him ,
and tested him ,
asking ,
Is it lawful for a man to put away his wife ?
*
And he answered and said to them ,
What did Moses command you ?
*
And they said ,
Moses allowed a man to write a bill of divorce ,
and to put her away .
*
Jesus answered and said to them ,
Because of the hardness of your hearts he wrote you this commandment .
*
But from the beginning of the creation God made them male and female .
*
For this reason shall a man leave his father and mother ,
and be joined to his wife ;
*
And the two shall be one flesh :
so then they are no longer two ,
but one flesh .
*
Therefore ,
what God has joined together ,
let man not separate .
*
And in the house his disciples asked him again about the matter .
*
And he said to them ,
Whoever shall put away his wife ,
and marry another ,
commits adultery against her .
*
And if a woman shall put away her husband ,
and be married to another ,
she commits adultery .
