tcent Mark:5:21-43

tcent@Mark:5:21 @ And when Jesus had crossed over again by the boat to the other side, a great crowd gathered around him; and he was by the sea.

tcent@Mark:5:22 @ Then came one of the rulers of the synagogue, Jairus by name. And seeing him, he fell at his feet,

tcent@Mark:5:23 @ and pleaded earnestly with him, saying, »My little daughter is at the point of death. Come and lay your hands on her, so that she may be healed, and live.«

tcent@Mark:5:24 @ So Jesus went with him.

tcent@Mark:5:25 @ And there was a woman who had endured a flow of blood for twelve years,

tcent@Mark:5:26 @ and she had suffered much under many physicians, and had spent all that she owned, and was no better but rather grew worse.

tcent@Mark:5:27 @ When she heard about Jesus, she came up behind him in the crowd and touched his garment.

tcent@Mark:5:28 @ For she said, »If I touch even his clothes, I shall be made well.«

tcent@Mark:5:29 @ And immediately the bleeding stopped; and she felt in her body that she was healed of her disease.

tcent@Mark:5:30 @ And Jesus, immediately knowing in himself that power had gone out from him, turned around in the crowd and said, »Who touched my clothes?«

tcent@Mark:5:31 @ And his disciples said to him, »You see the crowd pressing around you, and yet you say, ‘Who touched me?’«

tcent@Mark:5:32 @ And he looked around to see who had done it.

tcent@Mark:5:33 @ But the woman, knowing what had happened to her, came and fell down before him in fear and trembling and told him the whole truth.

tcent@Mark:5:34 @ And he said to her, »Daughter, your faith has made you well. Go in peace, and be healed of your disease.«

tcent@Mark:5:35 @ While he was still speaking, some came from the ruler of the synagogue's house who said, »Your daughter is dead. Why trouble the Teacher any further?«

tcent@Mark:5:36 @ But ignoring what they said, Jesus said to the ruler of the synagogue, »Do not be afraid; only believe.«

tcent@Mark:5:37 @ And he allowed no one to follow him except Peter, James, and John the brother of James.

tcent@Mark:5:38 @ When they came to the house of the ruler of the synagogue, he saw a tumult, and people weeping and wailing loudly.

tcent@Mark:5:39 @ And when he came in, he said to them, »Why make this commotion and weep? The child is not dead, but sleeping.«

tcent@Mark:5:40 @ And they laughed at him. But after he put them all outside, he took the child's father and mother and those who were with him, and went in where the child was.

tcent@Mark:5:41 @ He took her by the hand and said to her, »Talitha cumi!« which means, »Little girl, I say to you, arise.«

tcent@Mark:5:42 @ Immediately the girl stood up and walked (she was twelve years of age). And they were overcome with great amazement.

tcent@Mark:5:43 @ He strictly charged them that no one should know this, and told them to give her something to eat.
