* And he calleth the twelve , and began to send them forth by two and two ; and gave them authority over unclean spirits ; * And commanded them that they should take nothing for journey , except a staff only ; no bag , no bread , no money in purse : (note :)money : the word signifieth a piece of brass money , in value somewhat less than a farthing , but here it is taken in general for money (:note ) * But shod with sandals ; and not put on two coats . * And he said to them , In whatever place ye enter into an house , there abide till ye depart from that place . * And whoever shall not receive you , nor hear you , when ye depart from there , shake off the dust under your feet for a testimony against them . Verily I say to you , It shall be more tolerable for Sodom and Gomorrah in the day of judgment , than for that city . (note :)and : Gr . or (:note ) * And they went out , and preached that men should repent . * And they cast out many demons , and anointed with oil many that were sick , and healed .
