Matthew:21:23-27
mkjv@Matthew:21:23 @ And when He had come into the temple, the chief priests and the elders of the people came to Him [as He was] teaching, and said, By what authority do you do these things? And who gave you this authority?
mkjv@Matthew:21:24 @ And Jesus answered and said to them, I will also ask you one thing; which if you tell Me, I likewise will tell you by what authority I do these things.
mkjv@Matthew:21:25 @ The baptism of John, where was it from? From Heaven or from men? And they reasoned within themselves, saying, If we shall say, From Heaven, he will say to us, Why then did you not believe him?
mkjv@Matthew:21:26 @ But if we shall say From men, we fear the people; for all consider John as a prophet.
mkjv@Matthew:21:27 @ And they answered Jesus and said, We cannot tell. And He said to them, Neither do I tell you by what authority I do these things.
