Matthew:22:1-14
tcent@Matthew:22:1 @ And again Jesus spoke to them in parables, saying:
tcent@Matthew:22:2 @ »The kingdom of heaven is like a king who arranged a marriage for his son,
tcent@Matthew:22:3 @ and sent out his servants to call those who were invited to the wedding; but they were not willing to come.
tcent@Matthew:22:4 @ Again, he sent out other servants, saying, Tell those who are invited, »See, I have prepared my dinner; my oxen and fatted cattle are killed, and everything is ready. Come to the wedding.«
tcent@Matthew:22:5 @ But they made light of it and went off, one to his own farm, another to his business.
tcent@Matthew:22:6 @ And the rest seized his servants, treated them shamefully, and killed them.
tcent@Matthew:22:7 @ The king was enraged. He sent his army and destroyed those murderers and burned their city.
tcent@Matthew:22:8 @ Then he said to his servants, The wedding is ready, but those who were invited were not worthy.
tcent@Matthew:22:9 @ Go therefore to the highways, and invite to the marriage feast as many as you find.
tcent@Matthew:22:10 @ And those servants went out into the streets and gathered all whom they found, both bad and good; so the wedding hall was filled with guests.
tcent@Matthew:22:11 @ But when the king came in to see the guests, he saw a man there who did not have on a wedding garment.
tcent@Matthew:22:12 @ And he said to him, Friend, how did you get in here without a wedding garment? And he was speechless.
tcent@Matthew:22:13 @ Then the king said to the attendants, Bind him hand and foot, take him away, and cast him into the outer darkness; there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
tcent@Matthew:22:14 @ For many are called, but few are chosen.«
