Philippians:2:19-30

But I hope in the Lord Jesus to send Timothy to you shortly ,
that I may also be of good cheer ,
when I receive news from you .
*
For I have no man like him ,
of so kindred a spirit ,
who will genuinely care for your welfare .
*
For all seek after their own interests ,
not those of Jesus Christ '
s .
*
But you know he has proven himself ,
that ,
as a son with his father ,
he has served with me in the gospel .
*
Therefore ,
I hope to send him presently ,
as soon as I shall see how it will go with me .
*
And I trust in the Lord that I myself shall also come shortly .
*
Yet I thought it necessary to send to you Epaphroditus ,
my brother ,
and companion in labour ,
and fellow soldier ,
and your messenger and minister to my needs .
*
For he longed after you all ,
and was full of distress ,
because you had heard that he had been sick .
*
Indeed he was sick ,
and near to death :
but God had mercy on him ;
and not on him only ,
but also on me ,
lest I should have sorrow upon sorrow .
*
Therefore ,
I sent him the more eagerly ,
that ,
when you see him again ,
you may rejoice ,
and I may be less anxious .
*
Therefore ,
receive him in the Lord with all gladness ;
and hold such men in high regard :
*
Because for the work of Christ he was near to death ,
not regarding his life ,
to complete the service you could not give .
