Notes:

We are not told that Mary was speaking from the Holy Spirit, so we assume that this song is being produced from her own heart; as much praise should be.

Mary's praise is rendered in the past tense either in remembrance of what has been done or as if what God is about to do is as good as done. If in past or continuous past form the evidences, though true, are somewhat hidden in light of her/Israels present condition thus needing to be more fully searched out. If in future past form it stands as evidence that she has a fairly sizable grasp of what is going to be accomplished by God through Jesus. It could be that she is speaking in traditional Psalms like form as she was raised with the added realization that God is now doing something particularly wonderful through her (which there is nothing wrong with that form either).

Praise is perhaps the greatest declaration of certainty toward God to the benefit other fellow believers as well.
