Today's Verse:

kjv@Luke:18:15-17

kjv@Luke:18:15 @ And they brought unto him also infants, that he would touch them: but when his disciples saw it, they rebuked them.

kjv@Luke:18:16 @ But Jesus called them unto him, and said, Suffer little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God.

kjv@Luke:18:17 @ Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child shall in no wise enter therein.

Notes:

Is a child perfect by nature? Does it always do right? Is a child justified by what is right in it's own eyes? Why then do we think that we are? These are said to be infants. Are infants self justified as being right? Is it not rather that they are at the very beginning of a process that will take them through a whole lot of correction? Is it not that their parent sees them as perfect and wonderful for all of their faults and vulnerabilities and tantrums? It is who is seeing who as what in this message; a concept that we the self justified have lost.

Think back on the context leading into this parable. How much wonder and splendor and concepts that we barely realize let alone grasp that the Lord is on top of just like a parent. It is almost that we see ourselves as equals to Christ that we should say "He said that but I instead am doing this" or "He said that but He really meant to say this because this is so much better"; is that not in itself sufficient proof of being an ill mannered brat? Sin, repentance, avenging, justification, judgment, separating just from unjust, well that's all just nasty business according to the whiney baby. What is not being considered however is all of the other goodness intended and the ease of just getting aboard with Jesus and avoiding that all. It is not right or wrong because of what we are able to make of it, it is right or wrong because of what He knows about it and the many consequences of raising a child into eternity without the discipline and discernment of such; of what we really know little or nothing about at present.
