Focus:

kjv@Revelation:14:12 @ Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.

( FaithOfJesus thread begun by rRandyP )

Today's Verse:

kjv@Matthew:1:1 @ The book of the generation of Jesus Christ, the son of David, the son of Abraham.

kjv@Matthew:1:2 @ Abraham begat Isaac; and Isaac begat Jacob; and Jacob begat Judas and his brethren;

kjv@Matthew:1:3 @ And Judas begat Phares and Zara (Zarah) of Thamar (Tamar); and Phares begat Esrom; and Esrom begat Aram;

kjv@Matthew:1:4 @ And Aram begat Aminadab (Amminadab); and Aminadab begat Naasson (Nashon); and Naasson begat Salmon (Salma);

kjv@Matthew:1:5 @ And Salmon begat Booz (Boaz) of Rachab (Rahab); and Booz begat Obed of Ruth; and Obed begat Jesse;

kjv@Matthew:1:6 @ And Jesse begat David the king; and David the king begat Solomon of her (Bathsheba) that had been the wife of Urias (Uriah);

kjv@Matthew:1:7 @ And Solomon begat Roboam(Rehoboam); and Roboam begat Abia(Abijam Abijah); and Abia begat Asa;

kjv@Matthew:1:8 @ And Asa begat Josaphat (Jehoshaphat); and Josaphat begat Joram(Jehoram); and Joram begat Ozias (Uzziah);

kjv@Matthew:1:9 @ And Ozias begat Joatham (Jotham); and Joatham begat Achaz (Ahaz); and Achaz begat Ezekias (Hezekiah);

kjv@Matthew:1:10 @ And Ezekias begat Manasses (Manasseh); and Manasses begat Amon; and Amon begat Josias (Josiah);

kjv@Matthew:1:11 @ And Josias begat Jechonias (Jehoiakim) and his brethren (including Jehoiachin), about the time they were carried away to Babylon:

kjv@Matthew:1:12 @ And after they were brought to Babylon, Jechonias begat Salathiel (Shealtiel); and Salathiel begat Zorobabel (Zerubbabel);

kjv@Matthew:1:13 @ And Zorobabel begat Abiud; and Abiud begat Eliakim; and Eliakim begat Azor;

kjv@Matthew:1:14 @ And Azor begat Sadoc; and Sadoc begat Achim; and Achim begat Eliud;

kjv@Matthew:1:15 @ And Eliud begat Eleazar; and Eleazar begat Matthan; and Matthan begat Jacob;

kjv@Matthew:1:16 @ And Jacob begat Joseph the husband of Mary, of whom was born Jesus, who is called Christ.

kjv@Matthew:1:17 @ So all the generations from Abraham to David are fourteen generations; and from David until the carrying away into Babylon are fourteen generations; and from the carrying away into Babylon unto Christ are fourteen generations.

Today's notes: In Thee The Families Of the Earth Blessed

What is man believing/doing?

Of particular interest is the fact that the Hebrew seed is believing all along that it is keeping up with this when for the most part they never have; the situation that they find themselves in once again living proof.

What is making man to believe/do as he is?

Notes:

Zedekiah is actually considered the last king of Judah who is the third son of Josiah, appointed by the King of conquering Babylon. The the kingly line branches here and ends while the blood line follows through Jehoiakim's son Shealtiel the first of the non kings or princes. It does not seem to be because any of these later kings were any good that the line went the way it did, only by God's promise and discretion.

The carnal mind is at complete enmity with the spiritual. Carnal religion is no different in that regard to carnal rebellion and is in fact more deceptive. kjv@Romans:8:7

All the items listed above (covenant, law, land, temple, etc..) can be operated in the carnal without need for the spiritual gift of life in Christ Jesus, but not one can be fulfilled without Him.

Key Messages:

    What does this tell us about our present condition?
  1. Despite good intentions and revivals of faith and commitment man is largely unable by his own resource to turn against the tide/establish a foothold/maintain that foothold/advance that foothold for any length of time. This holds true even with God's frequent injection of sacred elements such as covenant, prophecy, communication to, double measure, law, temple, ark, intercession/deliverance of, longsuffering and mercy, direction through established prophets. Each is met with a observable entropy of their obedience and resolve.
  2. Man is largely unaware of the near cyclic repetition, each generation thinking it is better to the last seeing the mistakes made and fully expecting to correct them only to make mistakes of their own, the similarity of those efforts every several links down the chain.
  3. We will see in the gospel to come the many fatal mistakes we make as individuals in our approach towards God illustrated in the faces and circumstances of the many who approached Him in that day.
