Focus:

kjv@Revelation:14:12 @ Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.

( FaithOfJesus thread begun by rRandyP )

Today's Verse:

kjv@Matthew:11:25-30

kjv@Matthew:11:25 @ At that time Jesus answered and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes.

kjv@Matthew:11:26 @ Even so, Father; for so it seemed good in thy sight.

kjv@Matthew:11:27 @ All things are delivered unto me of my Father; and no man knoweth the Son, but the Father; neither knoweth any man the Father, save the Son, and he to whomsoever the Son will reveal him.

kjv@Matthew:11:28 @ Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

kjv@Matthew:11:29 @ Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart; and ye shall find rest unto your souls.

kjv@Matthew:11:30 @ For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

Today's notes: Delivered Unto Me of my Father

Context:

What is man believing/doing?:

What is making man to believe/do as he is doing?:

Notes:

The item of most interest is that the Father has purposely hid this and that Jesus is most thankful for that. To neglect this statement is to neglect the many long running historical proofs no other individual divinely given element or combination of elements has brought us there in all of this time. To continue such a pursuit is to pursue such an object-less effort; which may well be our vain design exposed.

The thought occurs that the knowledge of God may need to be protected at this point from us. Much like the knowledge of the Tree of Life there likely are vast crossroads of His knowledge that could be used against Him or His plan or us. It may be a knowledge only trust-able even in it's elementary forms to those who trust in His Son and have allowed themselves to be throughly transformed in that belief.

We need also to consider the despair of intellectual abilities amongst our masses that God would have to address in His offer of revelation to. To operate in the lofty intellectual heights may well be an inhospitable arena He choses not to engage men consistently in for the sake of those of lower and more humbled esteem.

Key Messages:

What does this say about our present condition?
  1. The belief is that our form of wisdom is in close enough proximity to God's that we would be able to sort Him out, that even if God hid it we would be able to find it by our own powers of deduction.
  2. There is that within us that portrays the desire to know the Father, but in reality has little to do with any extensive pursuit. It is as if to say we desire to know the Father only as far as we already know Him.
  3. For many it is not the desire nor willingness to pursue that is called into question, they certainly have all the zeal, it is the flagrant avoidance of Jesus as being the central point.
