The question then becomes how would the wheat be uprooted in the process. The answer may not have anything to do with the householder or the angels, but in how the man perceives the action against the tare taking sides with the tare, themselves not being able to identify the difference. The seed planted properly is known by the previous to be the word and by the coming explanation as the children of the kingdom (children carrying the word); read then children of the word, the word engrafts itself into/becomes the children. The enemy cannot produce humans of it's own so similarly its seed is its word that engrafts itself into/becomes the children. Why did the Lord not protect the the field from the enemy while He appeared to sleep? Because before the future harvest comes He deems it important for the man to be able to discern the difference between what He has sown and what the enemy has sown for themselves. The words being engrafted are not known by their present appearance but by their eventual fruit (or fruitlessness). Further Resources: Comment Board:Matthew:13:24-30
