kjv@Matthew:16:5 @ And when his disciples were come to the other side, they had forgotten to take bread.

kjv@Matthew:16:6 @ Then Jesus said unto them, Take heed and beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and of the Sadducees.

kjv@Matthew:16:7 @ And they reasoned among themselves, saying, It is because we have taken no bread.

Today's notes: The Yeast of the Pharisees

Context:

Before - Discerning the face of the sky
After - tell no man that He is Christ

What is man believing/doing?:

disciples - reasoning amongst themselves instead of just asking what was meant
Pharisee and Saducee - teaching the traditions of men as doctrine

What is making man to believe/do as he is doing?:

they had forgotten to bring the bread (command/task implied)
the religion of men based originally on the written law, but fermented into something else

Key Messages:

What does this say about our present condition?

The human mind is designed to see identifiable differences first except in the case of religious doctrine which it wants to see all as one thing. Distinctions in color, size, depth, shape, scent, facial symmetry, vocal tone and pitch, education etc.. are all organizational components of intellectual thought.
We are at the same time creatures of what we've already known. Faced with unfamiliar or threatening data we instinctively try to compare it what is already known. With doctrine however, what we've known has long been corrupted and become something other than intended.
