Today's Verse:
kjv@Luke:6:46 kjv@Luke:6:47 kjv@Luke:6:48 kjv@Luke:6:49 Flood symbolism of judgement - A servant simply is one who does what his Lord tells him to do. What ever influence tells him what to do is his Lord. It could be said fine then I will serve no master, I will do what I will to do. It is not that easy for our will is under so many other strong influences, to a point where the original individual will may no longer exist. Man can barely will himself to eat a more sensible diet. How then is the same man going to will himself to be a rock in the time of substantial flood? In such times the Lord's will hold one's foundation will together where the other many influences or lords cannot because they are not capable and for the most part inconsequential to any final outcome other than destruction. To say that Christ is your Lord and not do as He says is to not be under His influence; even to be against it, therefore certainly not His servant. God is known by His judgment. Many today believe in the non-judgmental God thinking that better it represents a God of love. It is like believing in God the Absentee Father. Non-judgment does not represent love; it represents absence/void. They therefore do not know the omnipresent God. Judgment is not merely for the sake of judgment it is for the sake of HIS good name and on behalf of those that love Him to do as HE says. It is to say that HE knows what HIS children are going through, what all is making this to happen, and that it will not always be this way; HE will not allow it but to prove the error of our way. In this HIS love is shown. It may be thought that the storm mentioned here is the occasions in our lives where thing just don't end up as we've planned or we've suffered personal set back or perhaps mourning. What does that say then about the man who never suffers as this or suffers to a much lesser extent. The storm depicted here is something much more universal and much more sudden and detrimental. It is not to say that by following Jesus that there won't be the suffering of personal setbacks, it is to say that in Jesus there is salvation from the judgment soon to come upon all men should one be moved enough by His saying so as to do them.
