The blind today for the most part have been able to adapt and even thrive (not to lessen their personal struggle). In that day however, there was little for the largely unskilled blind population to do but beg for the generosity of others. I have often wondered what these many people's lives were like after their healings. As much of a blessing as it would be to receive one's sight for example, there to would be a monumental challenge adapting into a visual world. One's source of income would likely have to be abandoned etc... Not to say that it isn't all welcomed, just that the implications on one's life could be earth shaking and possibly disastrous; like winning the lottery. Something as elemental as sight could also lead one into a whole new sphere of sin. In a spiritual sense we are very much recent recipients of sight as well. Best then to pick up immediately and follow the one who has seen all of eternity Himself. Further Resources: Comment Board:Matthew:20:29-34
