What is man believing/doing?:
- associating Peter with Jesus (maid/servant of high priest kjv@Mark:14:66)
- denying such association
- realizing what had occurred at the second crow of the cock
What is making man to believe/do as he is doing?:
- they had likely seen him with Jesus throughout the week or even before, Peter was likely well known as a principal disciple to nearly everyone, the where abouts of the disciples may be demanded by the assembly, it is likely that if Jesus is here His disciples are close by, his presence may be of interest to the priests, there may be fear of a possible break out, Peter could rally the supporters which the priests do not want
- Peter may sense extreme danger, he may be staying low (keeping all options open) until an opportunity presents itself, he may be protecting John from doing anything rash should Peter be found out, he may have no idea why he is there but senses that he must

Notes:
We are not told much about the prayer life of these disciples, their spiritual preparation and armament. We know that later in their Apostleship they saw it as an absolute essential. That could be because of their failure to perform spiritually in the least regard during the entirety of this momentous event. It is not an oversight of their master for He modeled it most perfectly, it is the reality that each man must find the need and the opportunity them self.
Key Messages:
What does this say about our present condition?
- People on all sides are responding to fear. With the wheels now in motion it is easier to choose sides with the aggressor to subdue ones exposure to the fear. But the aggressors are responding to fear of their own, fear of a much greater consequence.
- Intention/deduction/prediction/expectation, all things we base our actions/responses upon, are merely entry points to matters and consequences that are either solved in the spirit or exasperated/avoided in the more of the same.
