King of the Jews is a title only used by others to describe Jesus, not used Himself. Except for the inquiry of the Magi early it is a statement of accusation or in this case insult. Even the chief priest took offense to this title, preferring that the plague to read "he called himself the..." which He of course never did.

For many living still at that time the "King of the Jews" title would invoke memories of the statement that the earlier Herod made about what any such rumors regarding a possible Messiah would bring; some would be parents of those murdered children that this message was written upon; others still living would have been in the court counsel that directed that Herod towards such.

Jesus' own raiment depicts the only His known earthly possessions; loin cloth, sandals, robe and single weave un-paneled coat. A few of these "all" will soon be gambling for the coat.

Key Messages:

What does this say about our present condition?
  1. We certainly hope the best from our fellow man even in regards to the incarcerated and convicted. We depend upon the notion for our sanity, yet splinters and shards continuously resurface indicating rather. The hallowed halls of justice ring with the accounts of injustice and mistreatment, of men taking unbridled liberty on those without liberty. This Jesus knows the pain of those many faces.
