Today's notes:

Context:

What is man believing/doing?:

What is making man to believe/do as he is doing?:

Notes:

There are more than just the eleven here in Galilee. When it is said some doubted it does not say that they walked off never to believe, it says they did worship much like in many of our congregations today. They believe in the goodness and intent of Jesus, the positive aspects of a spiritual faith in their lives, but remain uncertain in the resurrection of Jesus in physical form. How long they remain in this borderline state is a personal matter. Some like Thomas became convinced rather early on.

The disciples understood go as taking the message out to the people and not just attracting the people in towards them. The eleven each took the gospel into the far reaches. The key teaching was observance, not just belief or community or wellness. Baptism not only was a necessity, but an excellent means of teaching the message and drawing people out into the observance of all things.

Baptism in the name of kjv@Matthew:28:19, for the remission of sins kjv@Acts:2:38, with/by the Holy Ghost kjv@Acts:1:5 kjv@Acts:10:48, of repentance kjv@Acts:19:4, washing away sins kjv@Acts:22:16, into His death kjv@Romans:6:3, into one body kjv@1Corinthians:12:13 , into Christ to put on Christ kjv@Galatians:3:27. Spirit not yet received kjv@Acts:8:16, Spirit received before kjv@Acts:10:47

Key Messages:

What does this say about our present condition?
  1. The current trend toward lifestyle evangelism is focused on the good done upon me by believing hopefully being good enough to be noticeable to others. It's short coming is that others are rarely focused upon me to see being focused upon themselves (just as I am being). The focus rather should be me observing all things whatsoever I have been commanded, living each day as being baptized the possession of Father/Son/Spirit, teaching and encouraging others the need and means to do the same.
