Today's Verse:

kjv@Luke:6:43-45

kjv@Luke:6:43 @ For a good tree bringeth not forth corrupt fruit; neither doth a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.

kjv@Luke:6:44 @ For every tree is known by his own fruit. For of thorns men do not gather figs, nor of a bramble bush gather they grapes.

kjv@Luke:6:45 @ A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh.

Notes:

The value of the tree for the husbandman is in the value of it's fruit. So often we think of things in terms of our own self worth, a figure that we largely come up with and most often over inflate with little regard for what the true value of our fruit is to the husbandman.

The judgement as to the character of the fruit is not of the tree it is of the husbandman. There is illustrated here a close connection between the treasured abundance of the heart bringing forth the words spoken. Good words we might think add to our own or another's self worth. Good words rather testify to the husbandman's ability and worth in cultivating good fruit, fruit that without His cultivation could not otherwise be produced.

It is rather callous to think of ourselves as a tree. A tree is rather a system of beliefs, a system that we better would be described as being continuations of a particular limb. The treasure of a man's heart is earnestness of participating in what that system of beliefs is able to produce especially to the point where the force of that system comes out of his mouth. There are many participants that either knowingly or unknowingly are producing (or attempting) to produce fruit based out of a system of beliefs that do the husbandman no good. Their corrupt fruit shall we call it influences others to produce a fruit of much the same substance. So while we think (presume) that we are producing a good fruit, the fruit we produce is nothing more than a continuation/spreading of the useless fruit that the husbandman is cultivating against. It is good only in the sense that it fits in with the fruit other's are able to produce from that same initial system of beliefs.

kjv@Matthew:13:23 @ But he that received seed into the good ground is he that heareth the word, and understandeth it; which also beareth fruit, and bringeth forth, some an hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty.

kjv@John:15:5 @ I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.
