Today's Verse:

kjv@Luke:1:67-80

kjv@Luke:1:67 @ And his father Zacharias was filled with the Holy Ghost, and prophesied, saying,

kjv@Luke:1:68 @ Blessed be the Lord God of Israel; for he hath visited and redeemed his people,

kjv@Luke:1:69 @ And hath raised up an horn of salvation for us in the house of his servant David;

kjv@Luke:1:70 @ As he spake by the mouth of his holy prophets, which have been since the world began:

kjv@Luke:1:71 @ That we should be saved from our enemies, and from the hand of all that hate us;

kjv@Luke:1:72 @ To perform the mercy promised to our fathers, and to remember his holy covenant;

kjv@Luke:1:73 @ The oath which he sware to our father Abraham,

kjv@Luke:1:74 @ That he would grant unto us, that we being delivered out of the hand of our enemies might serve him without fear,

kjv@Luke:1:75 @ In holiness and righteousness before him, all the days of our life.

kjv@Luke:1:76 @ And thou, child, shalt be called the prophet of the Highest: for thou shalt go before the face of the Lord to prepare his ways;

kjv@Luke:1:77 @ To give knowledge of salvation unto his people by the remission of their sins,

kjv@Luke:1:78 @ Through the tender mercy of our God; whereby the dayspring from on high hath visited us,

kjv@Luke:1:79 @ To give light to them that sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the way of peace.

kjv@Luke:1:80 @ And the child grew, and waxed strong in spirit, and was in the deserts till the day of his shewing unto Israel.

Notes:

The meaning of Christ not only has to do with prophecy, it more importantly has to do with covenant, of which Israel is a very large part. It is because of all that was established with Israel that we Gentile nations believe and share in the overall promise. Though Israel has yet to be fully able to fulfill it's part of the covenant God certainly has and will continue to fulfill HIS. The Redeemer and the prophet ahead of Him are a large part of the effort to finally establish the remainder of that fulfillment. Certainty is the certainty observed in HIS many documented dealings with chosen Israel.

Key Messages:

Declaring certainty

kjv@Genesis:17:7 @ And I will establish my covenant between me and thee and thy seed after thee in their generations for an everlasting covenant, to be a God unto thee, and to thy seed after thee.

kjv@2Samuel:7:23 @ And what one nation in the earth is like thy people, even like Israel, whom God went to redeem for a people to himself, and to make him a name, and to do for you great things and terrible, for thy land, before thy people, which thou redeemedst to thee from Egypt, from the nations and their gods?

kjv@Deuteronomy:28:1 @ And it shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to observe and to do all his commandments which I command thee this day, that the LORD thy God will set thee on high above all nations of the earth:

kjv@Isaiah:5:2 @ And he fenced it, and gathered out the stones thereof, and planted it with the choicest vine, and built a tower in the midst of it, and also made a winepress therein: and he looked that it should bring forth grapes, and it brought forth wild grapes.
