The prime objective is not to get as many people as possible into the eternal kingdom as possible, it is to rid itself of all iniquity and sinfulness. It does nothing in this plan to suffer this life if faith does not prepare and inoculate one for the next. The deceit of iniquity is that we all presume that we are all ready in or near to that position. One does not however work their way from one state to the other, they are delivered from the present to the future by the Lord Himself and that by the blood of His redemption. How is it then we can see ourselves as worthy, but in the same thought see no necessity for His sacrifice and resurrection? How is it we can say that all paths lead to God? Rather all paths lead to HIS judgment and HIS judgment leads those some/few purchased by the Blood of the Lamb to HIS/His eternal kingdom. It is not simple minded to think that nothing we can do on our own is going to change us enough to get us there; it is simple minded to think that something we could do or something that we all ready are is enough. It is not narrow minded to think in terms of someone as large and as grand as Jesus Christ, it is narrow to think in terms of the stock so many make of their own selves; even many of the religious. The greatest iniquity is not so much the many sinful things that we have said and done. The greatest iniquity is arriving at judgment without being of Christ Jesus having been so hardened to the notion of Him and all that He provided towards our salvation upon His cross, having lived so unaffected by His death and resurrection, being so defiant to His Holy Spirit. Why should we expect to pass HIS judgment with this being so? Declaring Certainty Further Resources: Comment Board:Luke:13:22-30
