kjv@Luke:5:12 kjv@Luke:5:13 kjv@Luke:5:14 kjv@Luke:5:15 kjv@Luke:5:16 Can you recall a leper that came or was brought to Jesus who wasn't healed? No? Then it must be His will. But, Jesus didn't do His own will while on earth, only His Father's. This must better mean that it was the Father's will (not that Jesus' would have differed). Why then are there still lepers? Because it is HIS/THEIR will as part of a larger over shadowing will to save all men through the blood of Jesus. You can imagine the disappointment if a man is cleansed of leprosy yet is not saved unto eternal grace. It should not preclude this man from being cleansed as evidenced, but salvation (his/ours) is certainly the Lord's objective. Does this man then because of this ever believed unto salvation? We do not know. Do we believe because of this? More likely because of all of this and more. Think of it as having been given reason to believe, one of many reasons. Fame does not always equate to belief nor salvation; neither does it mean positive response nor building momentum. Jesus is so careful as to groom the right kind of public perception that often it was better for Him withdraw Himself as directed by the Spirit back out to the wilderness or to the top of a mountain, tell the healed and cleansed not to speak a word to any other. Even with all of this caution our lesser beliefs and attitudes spill forth. Our Lord does not tell us now to remain silent. He commands to go out and proclaim, but to proclaim the right message in the right way. Paul once said that the message will get out regardless of the manner, that does not however mean to say much about the messenger's soul should his manner be incorrect. Thus we see the importance of both knowing God's will and obeying God's will. His will is not only about us in our present state. As important as that is to Him that is only a stepping stone to the greater future state that He is working all things towards. Declaring Certainty Further Resources: Comment Board:Luke:5:12-16
