Key Concepts:
What is God's righteousness observed doing?:
- Leaving something of foreseeable profit to others care expecting return.
- Setting up the possession as an inheritance to HIS own Son.
- Sending trusted individuals to collect the return without attempting to steal the possession back.
- Finally after the abuse and murder of even HIS own Son HE sends to destroy the caretakers.
What does this tell us about God's righteousness?:
- Not content just to be righteous in and of HIMSELF, to establish a productive righteousness in us, the produce of such being HIS own son's inheritance. Setting up the husbandry of such to local keepers during HIS absence, being willing to put up with corruption/rejection of such even to the point of sacrificing the life of HIS own Son. Reserving the husbandmen to later judgment.
- The rejection of the chief corner stone is foretold.
How is man reacting?:
- Being able to identify the true heir, seeking His inheritance for their own.
- Being able to identify that the parable was spoken specifically of them, as a result seeking to lay hold of Jesus but for fear of the people.

The suggestion is that there may be no other way to achieve this righteousness than for God to endure this process. Righteous has not nor will not happen by man's undertaking and of our effort quickly becomes a confiscation of what is rightfully HIS Son's. The issue is bringing man to that solemn conclusion.
The Son's inheritance is us who have have been made acceptable by His blood to be in His eternal congregation there in His Father's glory. Our corruption of that is us in the here and now benefiting personally from the long term process established while holding others to something much less being without Him in the Father's glory. If He is to be rejected completely so then is the righteousness of His inheritance.
If one is told of this foreseeable issue in the past and is reminded of it in the present and yet continues with exactly that in the near future and the LORD allows for it to go your way for now, it must say a whole lot about one's issue. The issue is then shown that one want's what is the Lord's without having the Lord rightfully getting it.
They took this to mean them, an attack on them. Were they ever right about any of their conclusions? Yea it was about them, but wasn't it also about every one of us who seek for the inheritance no matter what it may be on/for our own? We lay hold of Him in our own way, but with the same intent. We are bound to get just about as far with it as well.
Key Messages:
What does this say about our present condition?
- How secret is this knowledge? Is He addressing a few men in high places? or is He addressing all of us of all ages? Who are these husbandmen anyway? Is there anything thing else given to identify anybody else in the parable? Are they/we not themselves to be the fruit of righteousness? Is it not Christ that has become that for them/us in their/our stead? Is not their vat perpetually empty without Him (The Vine)? Is it not us that has to go through His press just as He did for His Father?
