The FaithOfJesus2 Daily Devotional

Focus:

kjv@Revelation:14:12 @ Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.

( FaithOfJesus thread begun by rRandyP )

Today's Verse:

kjv@Matthew:4:12-17

kjv@Matthew:4:12 @ Now when Jesus had heard that John was cast into prison, he departed into Galilee;

kjv@Matthew:4:13 @ And leaving Nazareth, he came and dwelt in Capernaum, which is upon the sea coast, in the borders of Zabulon and Nephthalim;

kjv@Matthew:4:14 @ That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying,

kjv@Matthew:4:15 @ The land of Zabulon, and the land of Nephthalim, by the way of the sea, beyond Jordan, Galilee of the Gentiles;

kjv@Matthew:4:16 @ The people which sat in darkness saw great light; and to them which sat in the region and shadow of death light is sprung up.

kjv@Matthew:4:17 @ From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.

Today's notes: Dwelling in Capernaum

Context:

What is man believing/doing?:

What is making man to believe/do as he is doing?:

Notes:

Similar transition Saul to David etc.. in that the next anointed patiently wait for the Lord's time clock so as to not step on the anointing of the previous.

Key Messages:

    What does this say about our present condition?
  1. We expect that rulers will be adulterous and we expect that the religious leaders will be duplicitous. We expect men that call things what they are to be punished. Why should we expect anything different? At the same time we expect our religious leaders to be our spiritual stand ins, to be for us what we ourselves know we should be but have willed not, to know what the time is, to know when light is shown. How is it possible that we can expect that of them as well? Is it that we hide ourselves behind them so as to not stand out front?
  2. What does great spiritual light look like and why was it not observed in this region? Could it be that it was seen but intellectually minimized or transfered? Could the bitter revelation of the thoughts and intents of the human heart attempt the transference of fault upon the light itself? Be the essence of our denial and rejection of Jesus?
