Today's notes: Fame

Context:

What is man believing/doing?:

What is making man to believe/do as he is doing?:

Notes:

The kingdom of heaven is never portrayed as being about the quantity of people (though there are many there eventually) it is about the quality of the king's character and rule and the obedience of His faithful. It is portrayed as coming with great price having undergone great tribulation and persecution and dependent upon the condition of the receivers heart. In every way shape and form it is vastly different from the form of kingdom we are accustom and easily accept.

Jesus does not ask for fame, in fact He frequently requires His delivered subjects to tell no man, nor does He stage events in order to generate more publicity. This fame comes about from the outside in because of the sheer astonishment and expectation sensed.

Key Messages:

What does this say about our present condition?
  1. multitudes are prone gather to what is right with the wrong expectation and unsustainable motive.
  2. the joy of the moment is easily squelched by the trouble (real and imaginary) it will soon cause, People will have to be committed to this, yet they will not because they are committed to the path of least resistance and the path of the mass instead.
  3. great signs and wonders such as these will not be associated as the Father confirming Jesus as His Son, they will be seen as the Father confirming themselves as deserving and the Father finally realizing that.
