asv@Hosea:1:10 @Yet the number of the children of Israel shall be as the sand of the sea, which cannot be measured nor numbered; and it shall come to pass that, in the place where it was said unto them, Ye are not my people, it shall be said unto them, Ye are the sons of the living God.
asv@Hosea:1:11 @And the children of Judah and the children of Israel shall be gathered together, and they shall appoint themselves one head, and shall go up from the land; for great shall be the day of Jezreel.
asv@Hosea:2:2 @Contend with your mother, contend; for she is not my wife, neither am I her husband; and let her put away her whoredoms from her face, and her adulteries from between her breasts;
asv@Hosea:2:3 @lest I strip her naked, and set her as in the day that she was born, and make her as a wilderness, and set her like a dry land, and slay her with thirst.
asv@Hosea:2:4 @Yea, upon her children will I have no mercy; for they are children of whoredom;
asv@Hosea:2:5 @for their mother hath played the harlot; she that conceived them hath done shamefully; for she said, I will go after my lovers, that give me my bread and my water, my wool and my flax, mine oil and my drink.
asv@Hosea:2:6 @Therefore, behold, I will hedge up thy way with thorns, and I will build a wall against her, that she shall not find her paths.
asv@Hosea:2:7 @And she shall follow after her lovers, but she shall not overtake them; and she shall seek them, but shall not find them: then shall she say, I will go and return to my first husband; for then was it better with me than now.
asv@Hosea:2:8 @For she did not know that I gave her the grain, and the new wine, and the oil, and multiplied unto her silver and gold, which they used for Baal.
asv@Hosea:2:9 @Therefore will I take back my grain in the time thereof, and my new wine in the season thereof, and will pluck away my wool and my flax which should have covered her nakedness.
asv@Hosea:2:10 @And now will I uncover her lewdness in the sight of her lovers, and none shall deliver her out of my hand.
asv@Hosea:2:11 @I will also cause all her mirth to cease, her feasts, her new moons, and her sabbaths, and all her solemn assemblies.
asv@Hosea:2:12 @And I will lay waste her vines and her fig-trees, whereof she hath said, These are my hire that my lovers have given me; and I will make them a forest, and the beasts of the field shall eat them.
asv@Hosea:2:13 @And I will visit upon her the days of the Baalim, unto which she burned incense, when she decked herself with her earrings and her jewels, and went after her lovers, and forgat me, saith Jehovah.
asv@Hosea:2:14 @Therefore, behold, I will allure her, and bring her into the wilderness, and speak comfortably unto her.
asv@Hosea:2:15 @And I will give her her vineyards from thence, and the valley of Achor for a door of hope; and she shall make answer there, as in the days of her youth, and as in the day when she came up out of the land of Egypt.
asv@Hosea:2:17 @For I will take away the names of the Baalim out of her mouth, and they shall no more be mentioned by their name.
asv@Hosea:2:23 @And I will sow her unto me in the earth; and I will have mercy upon her that had not obtained mercy; and I will say to them that were not my people, Thou art my people; and they shall say, Thou art my God.
asv@Hosea:3:1 @And Jehovah said unto me, Go again, love a woman beloved of her friend, and an adulteress, even as Jehovah loveth the children of Israel, though they turn unto other gods, and love cakes of raisins.
asv@Hosea:3:2 @So I bought her to me for fifteen pieces of silver, and a homer of barley, and a half-homer of barley;
asv@Hosea:3:3 @and I said unto her, Thou shalt abide for me many days; thou shalt not play the harlot, and thou shalt not be any man's wife: so will I also be toward thee.
asv@Hosea:4:1 @Hear the word of Jehovah, ye children of Israel; for Jehovah hath a controversy with the inhabitants of the land, because there is no truth, nor goodness, nor knowledge of God in the land.
asv@Hosea:4:2 @There is nought but swearing and breaking faith, and killing, and stealing, and committing adultery; they break out, and blood toucheth blood.
asv@Hosea:4:3 @Therefore shall the land mourn, and every one that dwelleth therein shall languish, with the beasts of the field and the birds of the heavens; yea, the fishes of the sea also shall be taken away.
asv@Hosea:4:4 @Yet let no man strive, neither let any man reprove; for thy people are as they that strive with the priest.
asv@Hosea:4:5 @And thou shalt stumble in the day, and the prophet also shall stumble with thee in the night; and I will destroy thy mother.
asv@Hosea:4:13 @They sacrifice upon the tops of the mountains, and burn incense upon the hills, under oaks and poplars and terebinths, because the shadow thereof is good: therefore your daughters play the harlot, and your brides commit adultery.
asv@Hosea:4:15 @Though thou, Israel, play the harlot, yet let not Judah offend; and come not ye unto Gilgal, neither go ye up to Beth-aven, nor swear, As Jehovah liveth.
asv@Hosea:4:18 @Their drink is become sour; they play the harlot continually; her rulers dearly love shame.
asv@Hosea:4:19 @The wind hath wrapped her up in its wings; and they shall be put to shame because of their sacrifices.
asv@Hosea:5:5 @And the pride of Israel doth testify to his face: therefore Israel and Ephraim shall stumble in their iniquity; Judah also shall stumble with them.

asv@Hosea:5:7 @They have dealt treacherously against Jehovah; for they have borne strange children: now shall the new moon devour them with their fields.

asv@Hosea:5:13 @When Ephraim saw his sickness, and Judah saw his wound, then went Ephraim to Assyria, and sent to king Jareb: but he is not able to heal you, neither will he cure you of your wound.
asv@Hosea:5:14 @For I will be unto Ephraim as a lion, and as a young lion to the house of Judah: I, even I, will tear and go away; I will carry off, and there shall be none to deliver.

asv@Hosea:9:2 @The threshing-floor and the winepress shall not feed them, and the new wine shall fail her.
asv@Hosea:9:4 @They shall not pour out wine-offerings to Jehovah, neither shall they be pleasing unto him: their sacrifices shall be unto them as the bread of mourners; all that eat thereof shall be polluted; for their bread shall be for their appetite; it shall not come into the house of Jehovah.
asv@Hosea:9:6 @For, lo, they are gone away from destruction; yet Egypt shall gather them up, Memphis shall bury them; their pleasant things of silver, nettles shall possess them; thorns shall be in their tents.
asv@Hosea:9:10 @I found Israel like grapes in the wilderness; I saw your fathers as the first-ripe in the fig-tree at its first season: but they came to Baal-peor, and consecrated themselves unto the shameful thing, and became abominable like that which they loved.
asv@Hosea:9:11 @As for Ephraim, their glory shall fly away like a bird: there shall be no birth, and none with child, and no conception.
asv@Hosea:9:15 @All their wickedness is in Gilgal; for there I hated them: because of the wickedness of their doings I will drive them out of my house; I will love them no more; all their princes are revolters.

asv@Hosea:12:3 @In the womb he took his brother by the heel; and in his manhood he had power with God:
asv@Hosea:12:4 @yea, he had power over the angel, and prevailed; he wept, and made supplication unto him: he found him at Beth-el, and there he spake with us,
asv@Hosea:12:6 @Therefore turn thou to thy God: keep kindness and justice, and wait for thy God continually.
asv@Hosea:12:11 @Is Gilead iniquity? they are altogether false; in Gilgal they sacrifice bullocks; yea, their altars are as heaps in the furrows of the field.

asv@Joel:2:20 @but I will remove far off from you the northern army, and will drive it into a land barren and desolate, its forepart into the eastern sea, and its hinder part into the western sea; and its stench shall come up, and its ill savor shall come up, because it hath done great things.

asv@Jonah:4:3 @Therefore now, O Jehovah, take, I beseech thee, my life from me; for it is better for me to die than to live.
asv@Jonah:4:5 @Then Jonah went out of the city, and sat on the east side of the city, and there made him a booth, and sat under it in the shade, till he might see what would become of the city.
asv@Jonah:4:7 @But God prepared a worm when the morning rose the next day, and it smote the gourd, that it withered.
asv@Jonah:4:10 @And Jehovah said, Thou hast had regard for the gourd, for which thou hast not labored, neither madest it grow; which came up in a night, and perished in a night:
asv@Jonah:4:11 @and should not I have regard for Nineveh, that great city, wherein are more than sixscore thousand persons that cannot discern between their right hand and their left hand; and also much cattle?
asv@Micah:1:2 @Hear, ye peoples, all of you: hearken, O earth, and all that therein is: and let the Lord Jehovah be witness against you, the Lord from his holy temple.
asv@Micah:1:6 @Therefore I will make Samaria as a heap of the field, and as places for planting vineyards; and I will pour down the stones thereof into the valley, and I will uncover the foundations thereof.
asv@Micah:1:7 @And all her graven images shall be beaten to pieces, and all her hires shall be burned with fire, and all her idols will I lay desolate; for of the hire of a harlot hath she gathered them, and unto the hire of a harlot shall they return.
asv@Micah:1:9 @For her wounds are incurable; for it is come even unto Judah; it reacheth unto the gate of my people, even to Jerusalem.
asv@Micah:1:11 @Pass away, O inhabitant of Shaphir, in nakedness and shame: the inhabitant of Zaanan is not come forth; the wailing of Beth-ezel shall take from you the stay thereof.
asv@Micah:1:14 @Therefore shalt thou give a parting gift to Moresheth-gath: the houses of Achzib shall be a deceitful thing unto the kings of Israel.
asv@Micah:2:2 @And they covet fields, and seize them; and houses, and take them away: and they oppress a man and his house, even a man and his heritage.
asv@Micah:2:3 @Therefore thus saith Jehovah: Behold, against this family do I devise an evil, from which ye shall not remove your necks, neither shall ye walk haughtily; for it is an evil time.
asv@Micah:2:5 @Therefore thou shalt have none that shall cast the line by lot in the assembly of Jehovah.
asv@Micah:2:12 @I will surely assemble, O Jacob, all of thee; I will surely gather the remnant of Israel; I will put them together as the sheep of Bozrah, as a flock in the midst of their pasture; they shall make great noise by reason of the multitude of men.
asv@Micah:2:13 @The breaker is gone up before them: they have broken forth and passed on to the gate, and are gone out thereat; and their king is passed on before them, and Jehovah at the head of them.
asv@Micah:3:6 @Therefore it shall be night unto you, that ye shall have no vision; and it shall be dark unto you, that ye shall not divine; and the sun shall go down upon the prophets, and the day shall be black over them.
asv@Micah:3:7 @And the seers shall be put to shame, and the diviners confounded; yea, they shall all cover their lips; for there is no answer of God.
asv@Micah:3:11 @The heads thereof judge for reward, and the priests thereof teach for hire, and the prophets thereof divine for money: yet they lean upon Jehovah, and say, Is not Jehovah in the midst of us? no evil shall come upon us.
asv@Micah:3:12 @Therefore shall Zion for your sake be plowed as a field, and Jerusalem shall become heaps, and the mountain of the house as the high places of a forest.
asv@Micah:4:3 @and he will judge between many peoples, and will decide concerning strong nations afar off: and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruning-hooks; nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more.
asv@Micah:4:6 @In that day, saith Jehovah, will I assemble that which is lame, and I will gather that which is driven away, and that which I have afflicted;
asv@Micah:4:9 @Now why dost thou cry out aloud? Is there no king in thee, is thy counsellor perished, that pangs have taken hold of thee as of a woman in travail?
asv@Micah:4:10 @Be in pain, and labor to bring forth, O daughter of Zion, like a woman in travail; for now shalt thou go forth out of the city, and shalt dwell in the field, and shalt come even unto Babylon: there shalt thou be rescued; there will Jehovah redeem thee from the hand of thine enemies.
asv@Micah:4:11 @And now many nations are assembled against thee, that say, Let her be defiled, and let our eye see our desire upon Zion.
asv@Micah:4:12 @But they know not the thoughts of Jehovah, neither understand they his counsel; for he hath gathered them as the sheaves to the threshing-floor.
asv@Micah:5:1 @Now shalt thou gather thyself in troops, O daughter of troops: he hath laid siege against us; they shall smite the judge of Israel with a rod upon the cheek.
asv@Micah:5:3 @Therefore will he give them up, until the time that she who travaileth hath brought forth: then the residue of his brethren shall return unto the children of Israel.
asv@Micah:5:5 @And this man shall be our peace. When the Assyrian shall come into our land, and when he shall tread in our palaces, then shall we raise against him seven shepherds, and eight principal men.
asv@Micah:5:6 @And they shall waste the land of Assyria with the sword, and the land of Nimrod in the entrances thereof: and he shall deliver us from the Assyrian, when he cometh into our land, and when he treadeth within our border.
asv@Micah:5:8 @And the remnant of Jacob shall be among the nations, in the midst of many peoples, as a lion among the beasts of the forest, as a young lion among the flocks of sheep; who, if he go through, treadeth down and teareth in pieces, and there is none to deliver.
asv@Micah:5:14 @and I will pluck up thine Asherim out of the midst of thee; and I will destroy thy cities.
asv@Micah:6:3 @O my people, what have I done unto thee? and wherein have I wearied thee? testify against me.
asv@Micah:6:6 @Wherewith shall I come before Jehovah, and bow myself before the high God? shall I come before him with burnt-offerings, with calves a year old?
asv@Micah:6:10 @Are there yet treasures of wickedness in the house of the wicked, and a scant measure that is abominable?
asv@Micah:6:12 @For the rich men thereof are full of violence, and the inhabitants thereof have spoken lies, and their tongue is deceitful in their mouth.
asv@Micah:6:13 @Therefore I also have smitten thee with a grievous wound; I have made thee desolate because of thy sins.
asv@Micah:6:16 @For the statutes of Omri are kept, and all the works of the house of Ahab, and ye walk in their counsels; that I may make thee a desolation, and the inhabitants thereof a hissing: and ye shall bear the reproach of my people.
asv@Micah:7:1 @Woe is me! for I am as when they have gathered the summer fruits, as the grape gleanings of the vintage: there is no cluster to eat; my soul desireth the first-ripe fig.
asv@Micah:7:2 @The godly man is perished out of the earth, and there is none upright among men: they all lie in wait for blood; they hunt every man his brother with a net.
asv@Micah:7:3 @Their hands are upon that which is evil to do it diligently; the prince asketh, and the judge is ready for a reward; and the great man, he uttereth the evil desire of his soul: thus they weave it together.
asv@Micah:7:5 @Trust ye not in a neighbor; put ye not confidence in a friend; keep the doors of thy mouth from her that lieth in thy bosom.
asv@Micah:7:6 @For the son dishonoreth the father, the daughter riseth up against her mother, the daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law; a man's enemies are the men of his own house.
asv@Micah:7:10 @Then mine enemy shall see it, and shame shall cover her who said unto me, Where is Jehovah thy God? Mine eyes shall see my desire upon her; now shall she be trodden down as the mire of the streets.
asv@Micah:7:13 @Yet shall the land be desolate because of them that dwell therein, for the fruit of their doings.
asv@Micah:7:14 @Feed thy people with thy rod, the flock of thy heritage, which dwell solitarily, in the forest in the midst of Carmel: let them feed in Bashan and Gilead, as in the days of old.
asv@Micah:7:18 @Who is a God like unto thee, that pardoneth iniquity, and passeth over the transgression of the remnant of his heritage? he retaineth not his anger for ever, because he delighteth in lovingkindness.
asv@Micah:7:20 @Thou wilt perform the truth to Jacob, and the lovingkindness to Abraham, which thou hast sworn unto our fathers from the days of old.
asv@Nahum:1:5 @The mountains quake at him, and the hills melt; and the earth is upheaved at his presence, yea, the world, and all that dwell therein.
asv@Nahum:1:8 @But with an over-running flood he will make a full end of her place, and will pursue his enemies into darkness.
asv@Nahum:1:11 @There is one gone forth out of thee, that deviseth evil against Jehovah, that counselleth wickedness.
asv@Nahum:2:5 @He remembereth his nobles: they stumble in their march; they make haste to the wall thereof, and the mantelet is prepared.
asv@Nahum:2:7 @And it is decreed: she is uncovered, she is carried away; and her handmaids moan as with the voice of doves, beating upon their breasts.
asv@Nahum:2:9 @Take ye the spoil of silver, take the spoil of gold; for there is no end of the store, the glory of all goodly furniture.
asv@Nahum:2:10 @She is empty, and void, and waste; and the heart melteth, and the knees smite together, and anguish is in all loins, and the faces of them all are waxed pale.
asv@Nahum:2:11 @Where is the den of the lions, and the feeding-place of the young lions, where the lion and the lioness walked, the lion's whelp, and none made them afraid?
asv@Nahum:2:13 @Behold, I am against thee, saith Jehovah of hosts, and I will burn her chariots in the smoke, and the sword shall devour thy young lions; and I will cut off thy prey from the earth, and the voice of thy messengers shall no more be heard.
asv@Nahum:3:3 @the horseman mounting, and the flashing sword, and the glittering spear, and a multitude of slain, and a great heap of corpses, and there is no end of the bodies; they stumble upon their bodies;-
asv@Nahum:3:4 @because of the multitude of the whoredoms of the well-favored harlot, the mistress of witchcrafts, that selleth nations through her whoredoms, and families through her witchcrafts.
asv@Nahum:3:7 @And it shall come to pass, that all they that look upon thee shall flee from thee, and say, Nineveh is laid waste: who will bemoan her? whence shall I seek comforters for thee?
asv@Nahum:3:8 @Art thou better than No-amon, that was situate among the rivers, that had the waters round about her; whose rampart was the sea, and her wall was of the sea?
asv@Nahum:3:9 @Ethiopia and Egypt were her strength, and it was infinite; Put and Lubim were thy helpers.
asv@Nahum:3:10 @Yet was she carried away, she went into captivity; her young children also were dashed in pieces at the head of all the streets; and they cast lots for her honorable men, and all her great men were bound in chains.
asv@Nahum:3:15 @There shall the fire devour thee; the sword shall cut thee off; it shall devour thee like the canker-worm: make thyself many as the canker-worm; make thyself many as the locust.
asv@Nahum:3:17 @Thy princes are as the locusts, and thy marshals as the swarms of grasshoppers, which encamp in the hedges in the cold day, but when the sun ariseth they flee away, and their place is not known where they are.
asv@Nahum:3:18 @Thy shepherds slumber, O king of Assyria; thy nobles are at rest; thy people are scattered upon the mountains, and there is none to gather them.
asv@Nahum:3:19 @There is no assuaging of thy hurt: thy wound is grievous: all that hear the report of thee clap their hands over thee; for upon whom hath not thy wickedness passed continually?
asv@Habakkuk:1:3 @Why dost thou show me iniquity, and look upon perverseness? for destruction and violence are before me; and there is strife, and contention riseth up.
asv@Habakkuk:1:4 @Therefore the law is slacked, and justice doth never go forth; for the wicked doth compass about the righteous; therefore justice goeth forth perverted.
asv@Habakkuk:1:9 @They come all of them for violence; the set of their faces is forwards; and they gather captives as the sand.
asv@Habakkuk:1:13 @Thou that art of purer eyes than to behold evil, and that canst not look on perverseness, wherefore lookest thou upon them that deal treacherously, and holdest thy peace when the wicked swalloweth up the man that is more righteous than he;
asv@Habakkuk:1:15 @He taketh up all of them with the angle, he catcheth them in his net, and gathereth them in his drag: therefore he rejoiceth and is glad.
asv@Habakkuk:1:16 @Therefore he sacrificeth unto his net, and burneth incense unto his drag; because by them his portion is fat, and his food plenteous.
asv@Habakkuk:1:17 @Shall he therefore empty his net, and spare not to slay the nations continually?
asv@Habakkuk:2:5 @Yea, moreover, wine is treacherous, a haughty man, that keepeth not at home; who enlargeth his desire as Sheol, and he is as death, and cannot be satisfied, but gathereth unto him all nations, and heapeth unto him all peoples.
asv@Habakkuk:2:8 @Because thou hast plundered many nations, all the remnant of the peoples shall plunder thee, because of men's blood, and for the violence done to the land, to the city and to all that dwell therein.
asv@Habakkuk:2:17 @For the violence done to Lebanon shall cover thee, and the destruction of the beasts, which made them afraid; because of men's blood, and for the violence done to the land, to the city and to all that dwell therein.
asv@Habakkuk:2:18 @What profiteth the graven image, that the maker thereof hath graven it; the molten image, even the teacher of lies, that he that fashioneth its form trusteth therein, to make dumb idols?
asv@Habakkuk:2:19 @Woe unto him that saith to the wood, Awake; to the dumb stone, Arise! Shall this teach? Behold, it is overlaid with gold and silver, and there is no breath at all in the midst of it.
asv@Habakkuk:3:4 @And his brightness was as the light; He had rays coming forth from his hand; And there was the hiding of his power.
asv@Habakkuk:3:17 @For though the fig-tree shall not flourish, Neither shall fruit be in the vines; The labor of the olive shall fail, And the fields shall yield no food; The flock shall be cut off from the fold, And there shall be no herd in the stalls:
asv@Zephaniah:1:10 @And in that day, saith Jehovah, there shall be the noise of a cry from the fish gate, and a wailing from the second quarter, and a great crashing from the hills.
asv@Zephaniah:1:12 @And it shall come to pass at that time, that I will search Jerusalem with lamps; and I will punish the men that are settled on their lees, that say in their heart, Jehovah will not do good, neither will he do evil.
asv@Zephaniah:1:13 @And their wealth shall become a spoil, and their houses a desolation: yea, they shall build houses, but shall not inhabit them; and they shall plant vineyards, but shall not drink the wine thereof.
asv@Zephaniah:1:14 @The great day of Jehovah is near, it is near and hasteth greatly, even the voice of the day of Jehovah; the mighty man crieth there bitterly.
asv@Zephaniah:1:18 @Neither their silver nor their gold shall be able to deliver them in the day of Jehovah's wrath; but the whole land shall be devoured by the fire of his jealousy: for he will make an end, yea, a terrible end, of all them that dwell in the land.
asv@Zephaniah:2:1 @Gather yourselves together, yea, gather together, O nation that hath no shame;
asv@Zephaniah:2:5 @Woe unto the inhabitants of the sea-coast, the nation of the Cherethites! The word of Jehovah is against you, O Canaan, the land of the Philistines; I will destroy thee, that there shall be no inhabitant.
asv@Zephaniah:2:6 @And the sea-coast shall be pastures, with cottages for shepherds and folds for flocks.
