Hosea:1:1 @ The word of Jehovah that was to Hosea, the son of Beeri, in the days of Uzziah, Jotham, Ahaz and Hezekiah, kings of Judah, and in the days of Jeroboam, the son of Joash, king of Israel.
gltv@Hosea:1:2 @ The beginning of the speaking of Jehovah by Hosea. And Jehovah said to Hosea, Go, take to yourself a wife of harlotry, and children of harlotry. For the land has utterly gone lusting away from Jehovah.
gltv@Hosea:1:3 @ And he went and took Gomer, the daughter of Diblaim, who conceived and bore him a son.
gltv@Hosea:1:4 @ And Jehovah said to him, Call his name God Will Sow, for yet in a little while I will call to account the blood of Jezreel on the house of Jehu, and will cause the kingdom of the house of Israel to cease.
gltv@Hosea:1:6 @ And she conceived again and bore a daughter. And He said to him, Call her name No Mercy, for I will not again still have mercy on the house of Israel; but I will completely take them away.
gltv@Hosea:1:10 @ Yet the number of the sons of Israel shall be as the sand of the sea, which is not measured nor numbered. And it shall be, in the place where it is said to them, You are not My people, it shall be said to them, Sons of the Living God.
gltv@Hosea:1:11 @ And the sons of Judah and the sons of Israel shall be gathered together, and shall set over themselves one head. And they shall go up out of the land; for great shall be the day of Jezreel.
gltv@Hosea:2:1 @ Say to your brothers, A people; and to your sisters, Mercy.
gltv@Hosea:2:7 @ And she shall follow after her lovers, but she shall not overtake them. And she shall look for them, but she shall not find them. Then she shall say, I will go and return to my first husband, for then it was better with me than now.
gltv@Hosea:2:9 @ So I will return and take My grain in its time, and My wine in its season. And I will take back My wool and My flax she uses to cover her nakedness.
gltv@Hosea:2:10 @ And now I will uncover her shamefulness to the eyes of her lovers, and a man shall not deliver her out of My hand.
gltv@Hosea:2:11 @ I will also cause all her joy to cease, her feast days, her new moons, and her sabbaths, and all her solemn feasts.
gltv@Hosea:2:13 @ And I will visit on her the days of the Baals in which she burned incense to them. Yea, she adorned herself with her nose rings, and her jewels, and she went after her lovers and forgot Me, says Jehovah.
gltv@Hosea:2:14 @ Therefore, behold, I will lure her and bring her to the wilderness, and speak to her heart.
gltv@Hosea:2:15 @ And from there I will give her vineyards to her, and the valley of Achor for a door of hope. And she shall answer there as in the days of her youth, and as in the day when she came up out of the land of Egypt.
gltv@Hosea:2:18 @ And in that day I will cut a covenant for them with the beasts of the field, and with the birds of the sky, and the creeping things of the ground. And I will break the bow and the sword, and the battle out of the earth, and I will make them to lie down safely.
gltv@Hosea:2:19 @ And I will betroth you to Me forever. Yes, I will betroth you to Me in righteousness, and in judgment, and in mercy, and in compassions.
gltv@Hosea:2:20 @ I will even betroth you to Me in faithfulness. And you shall know Jehovah.
gltv@Hosea:2:23 @ And I will sow her to Me in the earth. And I will have mercy on No Mercy. And I will say to Not My People, You are My people! And they shall say, My God!
gltv@Hosea:3:1 @ And Jehovah said to me, Go again, love a woman loved by a friend, yet an adulteress, according to the love of Jehovah toward the sons of Israel, who turn to other gods, and love raisin cakes of grapes.
gltv@Hosea:3:3 @ And I said to her, You shall stay with me many days. You shall not be a harlot, nor be to a man; and I also will be for you.
gltv@Hosea:4:2 @ Swearing, and lying, and killing, and stealing, and the committing of adultery increase. And blood touches against blood.
gltv@Hosea:4:6 @ My people are cut off for lack of knowledge. Because you rejected the knowledge, I also rejected you from being priest to Me. Since you have forgotten the law of your God, I will forget your sons, even I.
gltv@Hosea:4:7 @ As they were increased, so they sinned against Me. I will change their glory into shame.
gltv@Hosea:4:8 @ They eat up the sin of My people, and they lift their vitality to their iniquity.
gltv@Hosea:4:12 @ My people seek advice by their wooden idols, and their rod declares to them. For the spirit of harlotry has led them astray, and they fornicated from under their God.
gltv@Hosea:4:13 @ They sacrifice on the tops of the mountains and burn incense on the hills, under oak and poplar and terebinth, because its shade is good. On account of this, your daughters shall prostitute, and your brides shall commit adultery.
gltv@Hosea:4:15 @ Israel, though you fornicate, do not let Judah become guilty. And do not come to Gilgal, nor go up to Beth-aven, nor swear, As Jehovah lives.
gltv@Hosea:4:17 @ Ephraim is joined to idols. Let him alone.
gltv@Hosea:5:1 @ Hear this, O priests, and listen, house of Israel. And give ear, house of the king. For the judgment is toward you, because you have been a snare to Mizpah, and a net spread on Tabor.
gltv@Hosea:5:4 @ Their doings will not allow them to turn to their God. For the spirit of fornication is in their midst, and they do not know Jehovah.
gltv@Hosea:5:5 @ And the pride of Israel answers to his face. So Israel and Ephraim shall stumble in their iniquity. Judah shall also stumble with them.
gltv@Hosea:5:6 @ They shall go with their flocks and with their herds to seek Jehovah, but they shall not find; He has withdrawn Himself from them.
gltv@Hosea:5:12 @ Therefore, I am as a moth to Ephraim, and to the house of Judah as rottenness.
gltv@Hosea:5:13 @ When Ephraim saw his sickness, and Judah his wound, then Ephraim went to Assyria, and sent to king Jareb. Yet he could not heal you, nor did he cure you of your wound.
gltv@Hosea:5:14 @ For I am to Ephraim as the lion, and as the young lion to the house of Judah; I, even I, tear and go; I take away, and no one rescues.
gltv@Hosea:5:15 @ I will go; I will return to My place until they confess their guilt and seek My face. In their affliction they will seek Me diligently.
gltv@Hosea:6:1 @ Come and let us return to Jehovah. For He has torn, and He will heal us. He has stricken, and He will bind us up.
gltv@Hosea:6:2 @ After two days He will bring us to life. In the third day He will raise us up, and we shall live before Him.
gltv@Hosea:6:3 @ Then we shall know, we who follow on to know Jehovah. His going forth is established as the dawn. And He shall come to us as the rain, as the latter and former rain to the earth.
gltv@Hosea:6:4 @ O Ephraim, what shall I do to you? O Judah, what shall I do to you? For your goodness is like a morning cloud, and it goes away like the early dew.
gltv@Hosea:6:7 @ But, like Adam, they have broken the covenant; they have acted like traitors against Me there.
gltv@Hosea:6:9 @ And as troops of robbers wait for a man, the company of priests murder in the way to Shechem; for they have done wickedness.
gltv@Hosea:6:11 @ Also, O Judah, a harvest is appointed to you, when I return the captivity of My people.
gltv@Hosea:7:7 @ They are all hot as an oven, and devour their judges. All their kings have fallen; not one among them calls to Me.
gltv@Hosea:7:10 @ And the pride of Israel testifies to his face. And they do not return to Jehovah their God, nor seek Him in all this.
gltv@Hosea:7:11 @ Ephraim also is like a silly dove without heart; they call to Egypt; they go to Assyria.
gltv@Hosea:7:12 @ When they go, I will spread My net over them; I will bring them down like the birds of the heavens; I will chastise them, as a report to their congregation.
gltv@Hosea:7:13 @ Woe to them! For they have fled from Me. Ruin to them! For they have transgressed against Me. Though I would redeem them, yet they have spoken lies against Me.
gltv@Hosea:7:14 @ And they have not cried to Me with their heart, when they howled on their beds. They gather themselves for grain and wine; they turn against Me.
gltv@Hosea:7:16 @ They return, but not to the Most High. They are like a treacherous bow. Their rulers shall fall by the sword, from the rage of the tongue. This shall be their scorn in the land of Egypt.
gltv@Hosea:8:1 @ Put a horn to your mouth. He comes like an eagle against the house of Jehovah, because they have broken My covenant and have sinned against My law.
gltv@Hosea:8:2 @ Israel shall cry to Me, My God, we know You.
gltv@Hosea:8:9 @ For they have gone up to Assyria, a wild ass alone by himself. Ephraim has hired lovers.
gltv@Hosea:8:10 @ Yes, though they have hired among the nations, now I will gather them. And they began to be few, from the burden of the king of rulers.
gltv@Hosea:8:11 @ Because Ephraim has made many altars to sin, they are altars to him to sin.
gltv@Hosea:8:13 @ They sacrifice flesh for the sacrifices of My offerings, and they eat. Jehovah did not accept them. Now He will remember their iniquity and punish their sins. They shall return to Egypt.
gltv@Hosea:9:3 @ They shall not live in the land of Jehovah. But Ephraim shall return to Egypt, and they shall eat unclean things in Assyria.
gltv@Hosea:9:4 @ They shall not offer wine to Jehovah. They shall not be pleasing to Him. Their sacrifices shall be like the bread of sorrows to them; all who eat it shall be defiled, for their bread is for their person; it shall not come into the house of Jehovah.
gltv@Hosea:9:10 @ I found Israel like grapes in the wilderness. I saw your fathers as the firstfruit in the fig tree at her first time. They came to Baal-peor and set themselves apart to a shameful thing. And they became hateful like that which they loved.
gltv@Hosea:9:12 @ Though they nourish their sons, yet I will make them childless, without a man. Yea, woe also to them when I turn away from them!
gltv@Hosea:9:13 @ As when I looked toward Tyre, Ephraim was planted in a pleasant place. But Ephraim shall bring forth his sons to the slayer.
gltv@Hosea:9:17 @ My God shall reject them because they did not listen to Him; and they shall be wanderers among the nations.
gltv@Hosea:10:1 @ Israel is a luxuriant vine; he bears fruit for himself. According to the plenty of his fruit he has increased the altars. They have made beautiful images according to the goodness of his land.
gltv@Hosea:10:4 @ They have spoken words, swearing falsely to cut a covenant. So judgment springs up like hemlock in the furrows of the field.
gltv@Hosea:10:6 @ It shall also be carried to Assyria, a present to king Jareb. Ephraim shall receive shame, and Israel shall be ashamed of his own counsel.
gltv@Hosea:10:8 @ Also, the high places of Aven, the sin of Israel, shall be destroyed. The thorn and the thistle shall come up on their altars. And they shall say to the mountains, Cover us! and to the hills, Fall on us!
gltv@Hosea:10:9 @ O Israel, you have sinned from the days of Gibeah. There they stood. The battle against the sons of iniquity did not overtake them in Gibeah.
gltv@Hosea:10:10 @ When I desire, I shall bind them; and the peoples shall be gathered against them, when they bind themselves to their two perversities.
gltv@Hosea:10:11 @ And Ephraim is a trained heifer, loving to tread out. But I passed over on the goodness of her neck; I will make Ephraim to ride; Judah shall plow; Jacob shall break clods for him.
gltv@Hosea:10:12 @ Sow to yourselves in righteousness, reap as mercy. Break up your plowed ground. For it is time to seek Jehovah, until He comes and rains righteousness on you.
gltv@Hosea:10:15 @ So He does to you, Bethel, because of your great evil. In the dawn, the king of Israel shall be completely cut off.
gltv@Hosea:11:2 @ As they called to them, so they went from their face. They sacrifice to the Baals, and burn incense to graven images.
gltv@Hosea:11:3 @ I also taught Ephraim to go; He took them on His arms. But they did not know that I healed them.
gltv@Hosea:11:4 @ I drew them with cords of a man, with bands of love. And I was to them as those who lift off the yoke on their jaws; and I gently give food to him.
gltv@Hosea:11:5 @ He shall not return to the land of Egypt, but he of Assyria shall be his king, because they refused to return.
gltv@Hosea:11:7 @ And My people are bent on backsliding from Me. And they call him to the Most High; no one at all would exalt Him.
gltv@Hosea:11:8 @ How shall I give you up, Ephraim? Shall I deliver you, Israel? How shall I make you like Admah? Shall I set you as Zeboim? My heart has turned within Me; My compassions are kindled together.
gltv@Hosea:11:9 @ I will not carry out the heat of My anger; I will not return to destroy Ephraim. For I am God, and not a man, the Holy One in your midst. And I will not enter into the city.
gltv@Hosea:12:1 @ Ephraim feeds on wind, and follows after the east wind; all the day he multiplies lies and ruin. And they cut a covenant with Assyria, and oil is carried into Egypt.
gltv@Hosea:12:2 @ Jehovah also has a quarrel with Judah, and will punish Jacob according to his ways; He will repay him according to his deeds.
gltv@Hosea:12:3 @ He took his brother by the heel in the womb, and by his strength he contended with God.
gltv@Hosea:12:4 @ Yes, he wept and pleaded to Him, and he contended with the Angel and overcame. He found us at Bethel, and He spoke with us there,
gltv@Hosea:12:6 @ For this reason, you return to your God; keep mercy and judgment, and wait on your God continually.
gltv@Hosea:12:7 @ He is a merchant; the scales of deceit are in his hand; he loves to oppress.
gltv@Hosea:12:12 @ And Jacob fled into the field of Syria, and Israel served for a wife; yea, he shepherded for a wife.
gltv@Hosea:12:14 @ Ephraim has provoked Me to anger most bitterly. And He shall leave his blood to him, and his Lord shall turn his reproach to him.
gltv@Hosea:13:2 @ And now they sin more and more, and they have made themselves a molten image of their silver, idols according to their own understanding, all of it the work of the craftsmen. They say to them, Let men, those who sacrifice, kiss calves.
gltv@Hosea:13:3 @ So they shall be as the morning cloud, and as the early dew that passes away, as chaff storm driven from the threshing floor, and as the smoke out of the window.
gltv@Hosea:13:6 @ According to their pasture, so they were filled. They were filled, and their heart was lifted up. On account of this they have forgotten Me.
gltv@Hosea:13:7 @ Now I am as a lion to them; I will watch by the way like a leopard.
gltv@Hosea:13:10 @ Where is your king now, that he may save you in all your cities? And where are your judges of whom you said, Give to me a king and rulers?
gltv@Hosea:13:11 @ I gave to you a king in My anger, and took him away in My fury.
gltv@Hosea:13:13 @ The pains of a woman in travail shall come to him; he is not a wise son, for he cannot stand still in the time of the breaking forth of sons.
gltv@Hosea:14:1 @ O Israel, return to Jehovah your God, for you have fallen by your sin.
gltv@Hosea:14:2 @ Take words with you and return to Jehovah. Say to Him, Take away all iniquity and receive us well, that we may repay with the calves of our lips.
gltv@Hosea:14:3 @ Assyria shall not save us; we will not ride on horses. We shall not say any more to the work of our hands, Our gods! For in You the fatherless finds mercy.
gltv@Hosea:14:5 @ I will be as the dew to Israel; he shall blossom as the lily and cast out his roots like Lebanon.
gltv@Hosea:14:6 @ His branches shall go out, and his beauty shall be like the olive tree, and his scent as Lebanon to Him.
gltv@Hosea:14:8 @ Ephraim shall say, What is to me any more with idols? I eyed him, and I surveyed him. I am as a green cypress tree; your fruit is found from Me.
gltv@Joel:1:1 @ The word of Jehovah that was to Joel, the son of Pethuel:
gltv@Joel:1:3 @ Tell your sons about it, and your sons to their sons, and their sons to another generation.
gltv@Joel:1:14 @ Set apart a fast; call a solemn assembly; gather the elders, all the inhabitants of the land, into the house of Jehovah your God, and cry to Jehovah.
gltv@Joel:1:17 @ The seed shrivels under their clods; the storage bins are laid waste, the granaries are broken down, for the grain has dried up.
gltv@Joel:1:18 @ How the beasts groan! The herds of livestock are vexed, for there is no pasture for them. Even the flocks of sheep are perishing.
gltv@Joel:1:19 @ O Jehovah, to You I will cry, for the fire has burned up the pastures of the wilderness, and the flame has burned all the trees of the field.
gltv@Joel:1:20 @ The beasts of the field also cry to You, for the rivers of water are dried up, and the fire has burned up the pastures of the wilderness.
gltv@Joel:2:2 @ a day of darkness and gloominess, a day of clouds and thick darkness, as the dawn spread out on the mountains, a great and a strong people. There has never been the like, nor shall there ever be again to the years of many generations;
gltv@Joel:2:3 @ a fire devours before it, and a flame burns behind it. The land is as the garden of Eden before them, and behind them is a desolate wilderness; yea, also there is no escape to them.
gltv@Joel:2:5 @ They shall leap like the noise of chariots on the tops of the mountains, like the noise of flames of fire that devour the chaff, as a strong people set in order for battle.
gltv@Joel:2:12 @ Yet even now turn to Me with all your heart, and with fasting, and with weeping, and with mourning, declares Jehovah.
gltv@Joel:2:13 @ Yea, tear your heart, and not your robes; and turn to Jehovah your God. For He is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness, and He pities concerning the evil.
gltv@Joel:2:17 @ Let the priests, ministers of Jehovah, weep between the porch and the altar; and let them say, Have pity on Your people, O Jehovah, and do not give Your inheritance to shame, for a proverb among those of the nations. Why should they say among the peoples, Where is their God?
gltv@Joel:2:19 @ Yea, Jehovah will answer and say to His people, Behold, I will send you grain, and wine, and oil, and you shall be satisfied with it. And I will no more make you a curse among the nations.
gltv@Joel:2:20 @ But I will remove the northern army far from you, and I will drive him into a dry and desolated land with his face toward the eastern sea, and his rear toward the western sea. And his stench shall come up, and his ill odor shall come up, because he was doing great things.
gltv@Joel:2:23 @ Then be glad, sons of Zion, and rejoice in Jehovah your God. For He has given to you the early rain according to righteousness, and He will cause the rain to come down for you, the early rain and the latter rain in the first month.
gltv@Joel:2:25 @ And I will restore to you the years which the swarming locust has eaten, the locust larvae, and the stripping locust, and the cutting locust, My great army which I sent among you.
gltv@Joel:2:31 @ The sun shall be turned to darkness and the moon to blood, before the coming of the great and awesome day of Jehovah.
gltv@Joel:3:2 @ I will also gather all nations, and will bring them down into the valley of Jehoshaphat. And I will enter into judgment with them there, for My people and My inheritance, Israel, whom they have scattered among the nations; and they shared out My land.
gltv@Joel:3:4 @ And also, what are you to Me, Tyre and Sidon, and all the regions of Philistia? Are you restoring repayment to Me? And if you are repaying Me, I will turn your reward on your own head, swiftly, speedily,
gltv@Joel:3:5 @ in that you have taken My silver and My gold and have carried My good treasures to your temples.
gltv@Joel:3:6 @ You have also sold the sons of Judah and the sons of Jerusalem to the sons of the Greeks, that you might remove them far from their border.
gltv@Joel:3:8 @ And I will sell your sons and your daughters into the hand of the sons of Judah, and they shall sell them to the Sabeans, to a nation far off. For Jehovah has spoken it.
gltv@Joel:3:10 @ Beat your plowshares into swords, and your pruning hooks into spears. Let the weak say, I am strong.
gltv@Joel:3:11 @ Gather yourselves and come, all you nations; and gather yourselves together all around. O Jehovah, bring down Your mighty ones.
gltv@Joel:3:12 @ Let the nations be awakened and come up to the valley of Jehoshaphat. For there I will sit to judge all the nations all around.
gltv@Joel:3:16 @ And Jehovah roars from Zion, and He gives His voice from Jerusalem. And the heavens and the earth quake. But Jehovah is a refuge for His people and a fortress to the sons of Israel.
gltv@Joel:3:19 @ Egypt shall be a ruin, and Edom shall be a desolate wilderness, from violence done to the sons of Judah, whose innocent blood they poured out in their land.
gltv@Joel:3:20 @ But Judah will dwell forever, and Jerusalem to generation and generation.
gltv@Amos:1:2 @ And he said: Jehovah will roar from Zion and utter His voice from Jerusalem. And the pastures of the shepherds shall mourn, and the top of Carmel shall dry up.
gltv@Amos:1:5 @ I will also break the bar of Damascus, and cut off the inhabitant of the Valley of Aven, and him who holds the scepter from Beth-eden. And the people of Syria shall go captive to Kir, says Jehovah.
gltv@Amos:1:6 @ So says Jehovah: For three transgressions of Gaza, and for four, I will not turn back from it, for they deported as exiles to deliver up a complete population to Edom.
gltv@Amos:1:9 @ So says Jehovah: For three transgressions of Tyre, and for four, I will not turn back from it, for they delivered up as exiles a complete population to Edom and did not remember the covenant of brothers.
gltv@Amos:1:11 @ So says Jehovah: For three transgressions of Edom, and for four, I will not turn back from it, for he pursued his brother with the sword, and corrupted his compassions, and his anger tore continually, and he kept it, his wrath, forever.
gltv@Amos:1:13 @ So says Jehovah: For three transgressions of the sons of Ammon, and for four, I will not turn back from it, for they ripped open the pregnant women of Gilead, to make their border larger.
gltv@Amos:1:14 @ But I will kindle a fire against the wall of Rabbah, and it shall devour its palaces, with a war cry in the day of battle, with a tempest in the day of the windstorm.
gltv@Amos:1:15 @ And their king shall go into captivity, he and his rulers together, says Jehovah.
gltv@Amos:2:1 @ So says Jehovah: For three transgressions of Moab, and for four, I will not turn back from it, for he burned the bones of the king of Edom into lime.
gltv@Amos:2:7 @ panting for the dust of the earth on the head of the helpless, and turning aside the way of the humble. And a man and his father will go in to the same girl, in order to profane the name of My holiness.
gltv@Amos:2:10 @ Also I brought you up from the land of Egypt and led you in the wilderness forty years, to possess the land of the Amorite.
gltv@Amos:2:12 @ But you gave the Nazarites wine to drink, and you commanded the prophets, saying, Do not prophesy.
gltv@Amos:2:16 @ And the stouthearted among the mighty shall run away naked in that day, declares Jehovah.
gltv@Amos:3:3 @ Will two walk together unless they are agreed?
gltv@Amos:3:5 @ Will a bird fall into a trap on the ground, and there is no bait for it? Will a trap spring up from the ground, and nothing at all be caught?
gltv@Amos:3:7 @ For the Lord Jehovah will do nothing unless He reveals His secret to His servants the prophets.
gltv@Amos:3:10 @ For they do not know to do right, declares Jehovah, those who store up violence and robbery in their palaces.
gltv@Amos:3:14 @ For in the day I visit the transgressions of Israel on him, I will also visit on the altars of Bethel. And the horns of the altar will be cut off and will fall to the ground.
gltv@Amos:4:1 @ Hear this word, cows of Bashan who are in the mountain of Samaria, who press down the helpless, who crush the poor, who say to their husbands, Bring in, that we may drink.
gltv@Amos:4:4 @ Come into Bethel and transgress; multiply transgressing at Gilgal. And bring our sacrifices for the morning, your tithes for three days;
gltv@Amos:4:5 @ and offer a sacrifice of a thanksgiving offering that is leavened. And cry out, call out the voluntary offerings! For so you love to do, sons of Israel, declares the Lord Jehovah.
gltv@Amos:4:6 @ And I also have given you cleanness of teeth in all your cities, and lack of bread in your places; and you have not returned to Me, declares Jehovah.
gltv@Amos:4:7 @ And I have also withheld the rain from you when it was yet three months to the harvest. And I caused rain to fall on one city, and caused it not to rain on another city. One piece was rained on, and the piece where it did not rain was dried up.
gltv@Amos:4:8 @ So two or three cities staggered to one city in order to drink water, but they were not satisfied; yet you have not returned to Me, declares Jehovah.
gltv@Amos:4:9 @ I have struck you with blasting and mildew. The multitude of your gardens and your vineyards, and your figs, and your olives are devoured by the creeping locust; yet you have not returned to Me, declares Jehovah.
gltv@Amos:4:10 @ I have sent a plague among you in the way of Egypt; I have killed your young men with the sword and your horses with captivity. And I have made the stench of your camps to come up even into your nostrils; yet you have not returned to Me, declares Jehovah.
gltv@Amos:4:11 @ I have overthrown among you, as God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah, and you were like a firebrand plucked out of the burning; yet you have not returned to Me, declares Jehovah.
gltv@Amos:4:12 @ So I will do this to you, O Israel: Because of this I will do to you, prepare to meet your God, O Israel.
gltv@Amos:4:13 @ For, behold, He who forms mountains and creates the wind and declares to man what His thought is, He who makes the dawn darkness, and treads on the high places of the earth, Jehovah, the God of Hosts, is His name.
gltv@Amos:5:4 @ For so says Jehovah to the house of Israel: Seek Me, and live.
gltv@Amos:5:5 @ But do not seek Bethel, and do not enter Gilgal, and do not cross over to Beersheba; for Gilgal shall surely go into exile, and Bethel shall be for nothing.
gltv@Amos:5:7 @ He abandoned those who turn justice and righteousness into wormwood on the earth.
gltv@Amos:5:8 @ He who created the Pleiades and Orion, and turns the deep darkness into the morning, and He darkened the day into night; who calls for the waters of the sea and pours them out on the face of the earth, Jehovah is His name;
gltv@Amos:5:11 @ So, because of your trampling on the poor, and you take tribute of grain from him. You have built houses of hewn stones, but you shall not dwell in them; you have planted desirable vineyards, but you shall not drink wine from them.
gltv@Amos:5:15 @ Hate evil, and love good, and establish justice in the gate. It may be that Jehovah the God of hosts will be gracious to the remnant of Joseph.
gltv@Amos:5:16 @ So Jehovah, the God of Hosts, the Lord, says this: Wailing shall be in all streets, and they shall say in all the highways, Alas! Alas! And they shall call the farmer to the mourning, and those knowing wailing to lamentation.
gltv@Amos:5:18 @ Woe to those desiring the day of Jehovah! What is this for you? The day of Jehovah is darkness, and not light.
gltv@Amos:5:19 @ It is as if a man fled before a lion, and the bear met him. Or he goes into the house and leans his hand against the wall, and a snake bites him.
gltv@Amos:5:25 @ Have you brought near sacrifices and food offerings to Me forty years in the wilderness, O house of Israel?
gltv@Amos:5:27 @ And I will cause you to go into exile beyond Damascus, says Jehovah, the God of hosts is His name.
gltv@Amos:6:1 @ Woe to those at ease in Zion, and those trusting in the mountain of Samaria, those noted as the leader of the nations! And the house of Israel came to them.
gltv@Amos:6:2 @ Cross to Calneh and see; and from there go to the great Hamath; then go down to Gath of the Philistines. Are they better than these kingdoms, or their border than your border?
gltv@Amos:6:3 @ You who put the evil day far away, and cause the seat of violence to come near,
gltv@Amos:6:7 @ So now they shall go into exile with the first of the exiles, and the feast of those who stretch themselves shall cease.
gltv@Amos:6:10 @ And his uncle shall lift him up, and he who burns him, to bring out the bones from the house; and he shall say to that one left in the recesses of the house, Are any still with you? And he shall say, No. Then he shall say, Hush! For not one shall mention the name of Jehovah.
gltv@Amos:6:11 @ For, behold, Jehovah commands, and He will strike the great house into pieces, and the little house into cracks.
gltv@Amos:6:12 @ Shall horses run on the rock? Or will one plow there with oxen? For you have turned justice into poison, and the fruit of righteousness into wormwood,
gltv@Amos:6:13 @ those rejoicing for nothing, those saying, Have we not taken horns to ourselves by our own strength?
gltv@Amos:6:14 @ For, behold, I will raise a nation up against you, O house of Israel, declares Jehovah, the God of hosts. And they shall oppress you from the entrance of Hamath to the torrent of the Arabah.
gltv@Amos:7:4 @ The Lord Jehovah made me to see this: And, behold, the Lord Jehovah was calling to contend by fire. And it consumed the great deep, and it was devouring part of it.
gltv@Amos:7:5 @ Then I said, Lord Jehovah, I beg You, stop. How can Jacob stand? For he is small.
gltv@Amos:7:8 @ And Jehovah said to me, Amos, what do you see? And I said, A plumb line. And the Lord said, Behold, I will set a plumb line in the midst of My people Israel. I will not again pass over him any more.
gltv@Amos:7:10 @ Then Amaziah, the priest of Bethel, sent to Jeroboam, the king of Israel, saying, has plotted against you in the midst of the house of Israel. The land is not able to endure all his words.
gltv@Amos:7:11 @ For so says: Jeroboam shall die by the sword, and Israel shall surely go into exile out of his land.
gltv@Amos:7:12 @ And Amaziah said to Amos, Seer, go! Flee for yourself into the land of Judah, and eat bread there, and prophesy there.
gltv@Amos:7:14 @ Then answered and said to Amaziah: I was not a prophet, nor was I a prophet's son, but I was a herdsman and a gatherer from sycamore trees.
gltv@Amos:7:15 @ And Jehovah took me from behind the flock, and Jehovah said to me, Go, prophesy to My people Israel.
gltv@Amos:7:17 @ So Jehovah says this: Your wife shall be a harlot in the city, and your sons and your daughters shall fall by the sword, and your land shall be divided by a line. And you shall die in a defiled land. And Israel shall surely go into exile from his land.
gltv@Amos:8:2 @ And He said, Amos, what do you see? And I said, A basket of summer fruit. And Jehovah said to me, The end has come on My people Israel; I will not again pass over him any more.
gltv@Amos:8:4 @ Hear this, you who swallow up the poor, even to make the humble of the land to cease,
gltv@Amos:8:5 @ saying, When will the new moon have passed, so that we may buy grain? Or the sabbath, so that we may open the wheat, making smaller the ephah, and to enlarge the shekel, and to falsify the deceitful balances,
gltv@Amos:8:6 @ in order to buy the helpless with silver, and the poor for a pair of sandals, and sell the chaff of the wheat?
gltv@Amos:8:9 @ And it shall be in that day, declares the Lord Jehovah, that I will cause the sun to go down at noon, and I will darken the earth in light of the day.
gltv@Amos:8:10 @ And I will turn your feasts to mourning, and all your songs into a dirge. And I will bring up sackcloth on all loins, and baldness on every head. And I will make it like the mourning for an only one; and the end of it shall be like a bitter day.
gltv@Amos:8:11 @ Behold, the days are coming, declares the Lord Jehovah, that I will send a famine into the land, not a famine for bread, nor a thirst for water, but rather a famine for hearing the words of Jehovah.
gltv@Amos:8:12 @ And they shall wander from sea to sea, and from the north even to east; they shall roam about to seek the word of Jehovah, and they shall not find it.
gltv@Amos:9:2 @ And if they dig through into Sheol, from there My hand will take them. And if they go up to the heavens, from there I will bring them down.
gltv@Amos:9:3 @ And if they hide themselves in the top of Carmel, I will search and take them out from there. And if they hide from My eyes in the bottom of the sea, from there I will command the serpent, and he will bite them.
gltv@Amos:9:4 @ And if they go into exile before their enemies, from there I will command the sword, and it will kill them. And I will set My eyes on them for evil, and not for good.
gltv@Amos:9:5 @ And the Lord Jehovah of hosts is He who touches the earth so that it melts, and all dwelling in it shall mourn. And all of it will rise up like the Nile, and sink down like the Nile of Egypt.
gltv@Amos:9:7 @ Are you not like the sons of the Ethiopians to Me, O sons of Israel? declares Jehovah. Have I not brought Israel up out of the land of Egypt, and the Philistines from Caphtor, and the Syrians from Kir?
gltv@Amos:9:9 @ For, behold, I will command, and I will shake the house of Israel among all the nations, as one shakes with a sieve; yet not a grain shall fall to the ground.
gltv@Amos:9:15 @ And I will plant them on their land, and they shall never again be pulled up out of their land which I have given to them, says Jehovah your God.
gltv@Obadiah:1:2 @ Behold, I have given you to be small among the nations; you are greatly despised.
gltv@Obadiah:1:3 @ The pride of your heart has deceived you, dwelling in the clefts of the rock; his dwelling is lofty, saying in his heart, Who shall bring me down to the ground?
gltv@Obadiah:1:5 @ If thieves came to you, if destroyers by night, how you have been cut off! Would they not have stolen until they had enough? If the grape-gatherers came to you, would they not leave gleanings?
gltv@Obadiah:1:7 @ All the men of your covenant have dismissed you to the border. The men who were at peace with you have deceived you and have prevailed over you. They are setting your bread as a snare under you; there is no understanding in him.
gltv@Obadiah:1:13 @ You should not have entered into My people's gate on the day of his calamity; also you should not have looked on his evil on the day of his calamity, nor should you have sent out against his force in the day of his calamity.
gltv@Obadiah:1:14 @ Nor should you have stood on the crossways to cut off those of him who escaped, nor should you have shut up his survivors in the day of distress.
gltv@Obadiah:1:15 @ For the day of Jehovah is near on all the nations: As you have done, it shall be done to you; your reward shall return on your head!
gltv@Obadiah:1:18 @ And the house of Jacob shall be a fire, and the house of Joseph a flame, and the house of Esau for straw. And they shall burn among them and consume them. And no survivor shall be to the house of Esau, for Jehovah has spoken.
gltv@Obadiah:1:20 @ And the exiles of this force shall go to the sons of Israel who shall possess the land of the Canaanites to Zarephath; even the exiles of Jerusalem who are in Sepharad shall possess the cities of the Negeb.
gltv@Obadiah:1:21 @ And deliverers shall go up into the mountain of Zion to judge the mountain of Esau, and the kingdom shall be to Jehovah.
gltv@Jonah:1:1 @ And the word of Jehovah was to Jonah, the son of Amittai, saying,
gltv@Jonah:1:2 @ Rise up, go to Nineveh, the great city, and cry out against it; for their evil has come up before Me.
gltv@Jonah:1:3 @ But rose up to flee to Tarshish from the presence of Jehovah. And he went down to Joppa, and he found a ship going to Tarshish. And he gave its fare and went down into it in order to go with them to Tarshish, from before the face of Jehovah.
gltv@Jonah:1:4 @ But Jehovah hurled a great wind into the sea, and there was a great storm in the sea, and the ship was thought to be broken.
gltv@Jonah:1:5 @ And the sailors were afraid, and each man cried to his god. And they threw out the ship's articles into the sea, to lighten it off of them. But had gone down into the hold of the ship; and he lay down, and was sound asleep.
gltv@Jonah:1:6 @ And the chief of the seamen came near to him and said to him, What is it to you, O sound sleeper? Rise up and cry out to your God! It may be our god will notice us, and we will not perish.
gltv@Jonah:1:7 @ And they said, each man to his companion, Come and let us cast lots, that we may know on whose account this evil occurred to us. And they cast lots, and the lot fell on Jonah.
gltv@Jonah:1:8 @ And they said to him, Please tell us on account of whom has this evil occurred to us? What is your work? And from where do you come? What is your country, and of what people are you?
gltv@Jonah:1:9 @ And he said to them, I am a Hebrew. And I fear Jehovah, the God of Heaven, who has made the sea and the dry land.
gltv@Jonah:1:10 @ And the men were terrified with fear and said to him, What is this you have done? For the men knew that he was fleeing from before the face of Jehovah, because he had told them.
gltv@Jonah:1:11 @ And they said to him, What shall we do to you that the sea may be calm from on us? For the sea was going on and being stormy.
gltv@Jonah:1:12 @ And he said to them, Take me up and throw me out into the sea. And the sea will be calm from on you. For I know that this great storm is on you on account of me.
gltv@Jonah:1:13 @ But the men rowed to return to the dry land, but they were not able, for the sea was going on and being stormy against them.
gltv@Jonah:1:14 @ And they cried out to Jehovah, and said, We beseech You, O Jehovah, we beseech You, do not let us perish for this man's life, and do not lay innocent blood on us. For You, O Jehovah, have done as You desired.
gltv@Jonah:1:15 @ And they lifted up and threw him into the sea. And the sea ceased from its raging.
gltv@Jonah:1:16 @ Then the men feared Jehovah with a great fear and offered a sacrifice to Jehovah, and vowed vows.
gltv@Jonah:1:17 @ And Jehovah had appointed a great fish to swallow Jonah. And was in the belly of the fish three days and three nights.
gltv@Jonah:2:1 @ And prayed to Jehovah his God out of the belly of the fish.
gltv@Jonah:2:2 @ And he said, I cried out to Jehovah from my distress. And He answered me. Out of the belly of Sheol I cried for help, and You heard my voice.
gltv@Jonah:2:3 @ For You cast me into the deep, into the heart of the seas, and the current surrounded me; all Your breakers and Your waves passed over me.
gltv@Jonah:2:4 @ And I said, I am cast off from Your eyes; yet I will again look to Your holy temple.
gltv@Jonah:2:5 @ Waters encompassed me, even to my soul; the depth closed around me; seaweed was clinging to my head.
gltv@Jonah:2:6 @ I went down to the bases of the mountains; the earth with her bars was about me forever. But You brought up my life from the pit, O Jehovah my God.
gltv@Jonah:2:7 @ When my soul fainted within me, I remembered Jehovah; and my prayer came to You, to Your holy temple.
gltv@Jonah:2:9 @ but I will sacrifice to You with the voice of thanksgiving; I will fulfill that which I have vowed. Salvation belongs to Jehovah!
gltv@Jonah:2:10 @ And Jehovah spoke to the fish, and it vomited out onto the dry land.
gltv@Jonah:3:1 @ And the word of Jehovah was to the second time, saying,
gltv@Jonah:3:2 @ Rise up, go to Nineveh, the great city, and cry out to it the proclamation that I am declaring to you.
gltv@Jonah:3:3 @ And rose up and went to Nineveh according to the word of Jehovah. And Nineveh was a great city to God, of three days' journey.
gltv@Jonah:3:4 @ And began to enter a day's journey into the city. And he cried out and said, Yet forty days and Nineveh shall be overthrown!
gltv@Jonah:3:5 @ And the men of Nineveh believed in God, and they called a fast and put on sackclothes, from the greatest of them even to the least of them.
gltv@Jonah:3:6 @ And the word touched even to the king of Nineveh, and he arose from his throne, and he took his robe from him and covered himself with sackcloth and sat on the ashes.
gltv@Jonah:3:8 @ But let man and beast be covered with sackcloth. And let them call with strength to God. And let them each one turn from his evil way, and from the violence that is in their palms.
gltv@Jonah:3:10 @ And God saw their works, that they turned from their evil way. And God was compassionate over the evil that He had declared to do to them, and He did not do it.
gltv@Jonah:4:1 @ But it was a great calamity to Jonah's eye, and it kindled anger in him.
gltv@Jonah:4:2 @ And he prayed to Jehovah, and said, Please, O Jehovah, was this not my word while I was on my own land? On account of this, I fled to Tarshish before, for I knew that You are a gracious God and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness, and One who repents over calamity.
gltv@Jonah:4:6 @ And Jehovah God appointed a plant, and it came up over to be shade over his head, in order to deliver him from his misery. And rejoiced over the plant with great joy.
gltv@Jonah:4:8 @ And it happened when the sun shone, God had appointed a scorching east wind; and the sun struck Jonah's head, so that he fainted; and he asked for his life to die. And he said, Better is my death than my life.
gltv@Jonah:4:9 @ And God said to Jonah, Is your anger rightly kindled over the plant? And he said, My anger is rightly kindled, even to death.
gltv@Micah:1:1 @ The word of Jehovah that was to of Moresheth in the days of Jotham, Ahaz, and Hezekiah, kings of Judah, which he saw on Samaria and Jerusalem:
gltv@Micah:1:6 @ And I will make Samaria into ruins of the field, planting places for a vineyard. And I will pour down her stones into the valley, and I will uncover her foundations.
