* These things have I written (5656 ) unto you that believe (5723 ) on the name of the Son of God ; that ye may know (5762 ) that ye have (5719 ) eternal life , and that ye may believe (5725 ) on the name of the Son of God . * And this is (5748 ) the confidence that we have (5719 ) in him , that , if we ask (5735 ) any thing according to his will , he heareth (5719 ) us : * And if we know (5758 ) that he hear (5719 ) us , whatsoever we ask (5735 ), we know (5758 ) that we have (5719 ) the petitions that we desired (5758 ) of him . * If any man see (5632 ) his brother sin (5723 ) a sin which is not unto death , he shall ask (5692 ), and he shall give (5692 ) him life for them that sin (5723 ) not unto death . There is (5748 ) a sin unto death : I do not say (5719 ) that he shall pray (5661 ) for it . * All unrighteousness is (5748 ) sin : and there is (5748 ) a sin not unto death . * We know (5758 ) that whosoever is born (5772 ) of God sinneth (5719 ) not ; but he that is begotten (5685 ) of God keepeth (5719 ) himself , and that wicked one toucheth (5731 ) him not . * And we know (5758 ) that we are (5748 ) of God , and the whole world lieth (5736 ) in wickedness . * And we know (5758 ) that the Son of God is come (5719 ), and hath given (5758 ) us an understanding , that we may know (5725 ) him that is true , and we are (5748 ) in him that is true , even in his Son Jesus Christ . This is (5748 ) the true God , and eternal life .
