* Ye are witnesses , and God also , how holily and justly and unblameably we behaved ourselves (5675 ) among you that believe (5723 ): * As ye know (5758 ) how we exhorted (5723 ) and comforted (5740 ) and charged (5734 ) every one of you , as a father doth his children , * That ye would walk (5658 ) worthy of God , who hath called (5723 ) you unto his kingdom and glory . * For this cause also thank (5719 ) we God without ceasing , because , when ye received (5631 ) the word of God which ye heard of us , ye received (5662 ) it not as the word of men , but as it is (5748 ) in truth , the word of God , which effectually worketh (5731 ) also in you that believe (5723 ). * For ye , brethren , became (5675 ) followers of the churches of God which in Judaea are (5752 ) in Christ Jesus : for ye also have suffered (5627 ) like things of your own countrymen , even as they have of the Jews :
