* Do not sharply rebuke an older man , but [rather ]exhort him as a father , younger men as brothers , * older women as mothers , younger women as sisters , with all purity . * Honor widows who are really widows . * But if a certain widow has children or grandchildren , let them first learn to show piety to their own household and to make repayment to their parents ; for this is acceptable before God . * Now she who is really a widow and having been left alone , has set her hope on God , and continues in supplications and prayers night and day . * But she who is living for pleasure is dead while she lives .
