* Of such an one will I glory (5695 ): yet of myself I will not glory (5695 ), but in mine infirmities . * For though I would desire (5661 ) to glory (5664 ), I shall not be (5704 ) a fool ; for I will say (5692 ) the truth : but now I forbear (5736 ), lest any man should think (5667 ) of me above that which he seeth (5719 ) me to be , or that he heareth (5719 ) of me . * And lest I should be exalted above measure (5747 ) through the abundance of the revelations , there was given (5681 ) to me a thorn in the flesh , the messenger of Satan to buffet (5725 ) me , lest I should be exalted above measure (5747 ). * For this thing I besought (5656 ) the Lord thrice , that it might depart (5632 ) from me . * And he said (5758 ) unto me , My grace is sufficient (5719 ) for thee : for my strength is made perfect (5743 ) in weakness . Most gladly therefore will I rather glory (5695 ) in my infirmities , that the power of Christ may rest (5661 ) upon me .
