* Sufficient to such a man is this punishment , which was inflicted of many . * So that contrariwise ye ought rather to forgive (5664 ) him , and comfort (5658 ) him , lest perhaps such a one should be swallowed up (5686 ) with overmuch sorrow . * Wherefore I beseech (5719 ) you that ye would confirm (5658 ) your love toward him . * For to this end also did I write (5656 ), that I might know (5632 ) the proof of you , whether ye be (5748 ) obedient in all things . * To whom ye forgive (5736 ) any thing , I forgive also : for if I forgave (5766 ) any thing , to whom I forgave (5766 ) it , for your sakes forgave I it in the person of Christ ; * Lest Satan should get an advantage of us (5686 ): for we are not ignorant (5719 ) of his devices .
